Firstly your character build idea does not interfere with the campaign, it fits very well, actually.
The background ideas are very good, an interesting twist that you describe there and something I didn't consider before.
It will be interesting to see how Kirk maintains his attitudes when he unravels all the mysteries that lie ahead.

you can use pretty much every image you find on the web. just use the google image search for "grass tile" and tadaa!

I take them from NWN Vault, a site where people upload character images (for non commercial use) for Neverwinter Nights (...good ol' times).

Zyren, Thanks for the encouraging words! I have a number of friends that are urging me to play some D&D with them, but we all live hours a part. After playing in your campaign I thought a PBP would be the best solution.
As I take this on, however, I am realizing how easy you make this look. I have managed to make Maptools work and that is great. However, I am having trouble downloading tokens. My second trouble is that I have logged in to the NWN Vault, and I have seen all of the pictures of the character profiles, but I cannot seem to access them as individual pictures, only as a page with many pictures on them. Do you have any suggestions for trouble shooting?
As for the rest of you, I laughed until I had tears in my eyes. Did one of you invite Grunty McGrunts to our party? I have my suspicions. :-)
Zyren, your directions for the NWN Vault were extremely helpful! I can enter a title under search and find a variety of images. This is great! Thank you! The only thing 'm not sure about is what do you mean by "switch on previews"? Is there some setting that will show me all of the pictures from a profile pack at the same, where I will be able to click on a small picture and get the full size picture?
No, I just meant the option in the search form "show screenshot". Otherwise you would only get a textual description of the picture.

Thanks again. That was an enormous help! I just think it is great to show pictures of characters in the plot. It adds so much to the level of drama.
The other issue that I am trying to work out is building a library of monster tokens for the map tools. I tried to download the tokens and add them to the resource library within the program, but it keeps quitting with an error statement. It loads the small files such as objects and maps just fine. The tokens, however are in such a big file that it just can't get through them all without quitting on me. Do you know of any other places I can look to find tokens to add to the resources of maptools?
After that, I think I will have the tools necessary to run a campaign. Without your help I would not be able to pull this off. Thank you!

2)Open "file", then click on "add resource to library"
3) Then take the black sword icon and press install

That is the token set that will not download. I can certainly use different pictures and artwork for people. I just don't have many monsters.

Thanks for the download! I was able to successfully download the file, but I cannot seem to get map tools to recognize it. I have tried adding resources to the library and selecting the folder. However it does not seem to recognize it. I have tried click on the document itself and it asks me to select an application. I select Map Tools, but it does not work either. This weekend I hope to have some time to play around with the application and the file and see if I can get them to understand each other. Thanks again!
Have you unzipped it yet? Just take Win Zip or Win Rar. Win rar
Then just use Map Tool "add resource to library" and then take the first option and just select the whole folder from your diskspace.
