Can anyone with this issue please skim through the "Ecology of the Night Hag" artical for me and check Wes Schneider's sidebar on Cegilune -- and then give a brief summary, pretty please?

Pretty, pretty please with a cthulhu and whip cream on top?

The Exchange RPG Superstar 2010 Top 32

Ecology of the Annis Hag...here we go!

Cegilune: NE Lesser Deity
Once a beautiful goddess of the moon, now she gathers larvae in the Lower Planes, using their energy to empower hag servants and create monsters. She is convinced that the mortal races betrayed her and lives for revenge.

Portfolio: Hags, larvae, the moon
Domains: Evil, Knowledge, Moon
Fav. Wpn. Quarterstaff
Symbol: Overflowing black cauldron

Worshiped from icky little shrines near the cauldrons of her servants. Every night they praise her and curse her betrayers. At the full moon nearest the winter solstice, this reaches a crescendo of sacrifice and atrocities.

Herald & Allies:
Herald: gigantic larvae (use 20HD purple worm) - mindless and guided only by Cegilune's vengeance, one huge mass of yellow fat-rolls with a massive face lost under their obese dough-rings. It's name? Ambrosial.

Her clerics often contact night hags with planar ally spells.

Cegilune (lesser deity, NE)

Symbol: Overflowing black cauldron
Portfolio: Hags, larvae, the moon
Domains (3.5): Evil, Knowledge, Moon (Sp.C., also PGF)
Favoured Weapon: Quarterstaff

Once a beautiful and powerful goddess of the moon, spurned Cegilune tenaciously retains her divinity seemingly only to take revenge against the countless mortal races which she believes to have betrayed her. Collecting larvae, the soul currency of the Lower Planes, Cegilune uses their profane magic to empower her hag servants and create new nightmarish monstrosities to infest the Material Plane.

Worship: Cegilune's only places of worship are small grisly shrines kept near the cauldrons and meal places of her devotees. Every night worshippers offer lengthy praises of their goddess' virtues and curses on all who betrayed her. These profanities escalate on the night of the full moon nearest the winter solstice when Cegilune's followers perform tortuous sacrifices, each seeking to dedicate the greatest suffering to her name.

Herald and Allies: Cegilune's herald is a gigantic larva with the same statistics as a 20 HD fiendish purple worm. Mindless and bred only to exact its mistress' wrath, is a bloated, trashing (sic ... maybe should have been "thrashing"?) thing of sickly yellow flesh, with a corpulent humanoid face nearly lost amidst its titanic rolls. The horror has no other name than that which Cegilune calls it - Ambrosial.

Clerics of Cegilune most often contact night hags with their Planar Ally spells.

LOL! That was bizarre :-)

Never noticed this post for days, then rattled off a quick summary simultaneously :-) Hope you don't have the same idea as me for superstar, and ninja me back!

No fear of that! :)

I was just waiting until I got my hands on that particular issue (double moving chaos surrounds me at the moment), and that happened to be this past Sunday.

Anyway, good luck on the Superstar contest!

Thanks guys!

You're welcome!

And I'll take my cthulhu in plush form, please - and hold the whipped cream. :)

Grand Lodge

Are you sure you don't want the whipped cream?!

How can you have any Cthulhu or Yog Sothoth or Hastur or anything without it??

. . . . But okay, I guess if that's the way you want it.
