It's hard to sort out the extent to which it is a game and the extent to which it is a dungeon generator, or more precisely, a historical dungeon generator. I'd say if you don't enjoy making up dungeons, including their background and development, then you won't enjoy the game. I enjoyed it, and you can download a simplified version to play before you buy the whole thing.
I played through the Primordial Age, the Great Disaster, and most of the way through the Age of Monsters. It was taking a little longer to play than I anticipated, but I was learning most of the rules as I played and I made the mistake of setting up in an uncomfortable location.
The rules are a little more scattered than I could wish, but I suppose I will read through the entire document before I play again and highlight and tag it for ease of play. It's also the kind of game that you can easily add rules to or use game/world knowledge to make rulings without making every outcome as random or as automatic as RAW would have it. (Green Slime can kill Magma Spirits? No way.)
