Minigames

Do you use minigames in your campaigns, if so what are they?

By minigames, I mean a game within your game that uses different rules than those for role playing and combat. Such as for gambling, racing, etc.

I've had my players play Charades when they were in a silenced area and the rogue figured out the trap.

They play a game called Campfire Tales, where they are asked trivia questions about their character histories. The points can be traded in for Plot Cards. It really gets the players thinking about their fellow PCs in a different light.

We invented an in game drinking game called Drink Fight, last man conscious wins.

We even created a mini-game for duels. (Step One: Intimidate. Step Two: Initiative. Step Three: Attack Roll).

So in short: Yes.

My group all share the same group of books (mine), so leveling up takes awhile since the books have to get passed around. For the rest of the party, to kill time, it is not at all uncommon to see some dice gambling between the PCs. I acctually had a player take a prestige class that granted a reroll of one die per day ("good luck" type of a feature) just for gambling with the other PCs.

I just bought 3 Dragon Ante, and the players have been using that to gamble for some spare cash lately.
