Winnegan's fake is banned for needing to use elements of geometry in his daily life. Your job is the reason we all had to learn geometry. I know because I asked my geometry teacher how she could possibly justify a year long class that amounted to little more than memorization of things we'd never, ever have to use in real life.
When you ask that particular question, the teachers always smile guiltily and intone the somehow revered job of surveyor. So long as we're job training everyone for one specific job most of us won't have, why don't we spend a year fixing toilets instead? A big classroom full of practice johns.
