1.) Why was it decided not to publish?
2.) The moniker of the author is?
3.) What was the proposed adventure title?
4.) I see stars what do you see? And what answer should I decide to see above?
5.) Can you see the stars as well?
6.) A fibre is the same as fiber yet they are both correct upon a Scrabble board sir, did you avoid the question merely to poke fun at British spelling conventions? :(
;) As such I still ask "How many fibers / fibres in a Shredded Wheat biscuit?"Finally related to question 6.) if you were on the judging panel of a spelling bee would you disallow the alternate form of fibre in favour (favor) of fiber?
1) We didn't publish it because it was FAR too long to even ATTEMPT to publish in the magazine.
2) I can't remember, actually. It came in before I joined Paizo.3) See #2 above.
4) A monkey with a bloody, bone club.
5) Not until the monkey brains me with his club.
6) British spelling conventions do not apply to America, unless they're in a Lovecraft story. You can keep all your extraneous, extra "U"s!

Depends on if the spelling be was in the USA or Britain.

Is it an error that the Entrap ability listed in Bestiary 2 on Page 296 calls for a Fortitude save?
If not, what's the reasoning for calling for a Fortitude save in this case? I ask since it [Entrap] specifically lists webs amongst monsters' attack forms which call for such a save, but when a wizard or sorcerer throws the spell web that calls for a Reflex save (or at least it does in my current copy of the core rulebook).
(Will copy and paste an answer here to the Bestiary 2 errata thread if that seems appropriate.)

When you're entrapped in something, it's less important how quick or stubborn you are (those being what a Reflex or a Will save would ask for). What's important is how strong and hale you are-how resistant to pain and how much you can endure. That's more Fortitude than any other save.
Web is a different effect than entrap. So it has different effects. In fact, it has different effects depending on if it's a spell or if it's a monster attack.
And honestly, I'd rather NOT have you copy/paste answers from here into the Bestiary 2 errata thread. That's not the point of that thread. When we do erratas for Bestiary 2, it's more important to be able to sail throguh that thread and look at the possible errors and fix things then. Putting a bunch of non-errata concerns (this includes answers, and certainly includes the invariable arguments over whether or not my answers were right or wrong) into that messageboard only fills the thing with clutter that dramatically reduces that thread's usefulness to us.
ESPECIALLY in a case like this, which isn't errata at all. At best, this topic is clarification and little more. At worse, it's seeing problems where none exist and overcomplicating things.
If it's not an error, I won't copy and paste this one... Although I can see others arguing over this for months or years to come.
Ah well, that's the internet... :D

So James, I noticed an added bit in the history section of "The Inner Sea World Guide". Talking about a rather large blue dragon destroying villages in recent history headed northwards. Does this have anything to do with the AP after Jade Regent which you alluded to having to do something about dragons?

If my group of (level 1) players optimized and were slaughtering all the CR 1 monsters, and I used a worg (CR 2 monster) as an encounter without dumbing down its tactics (it attacked the squishy-est looking party member), which ended up with all the members at negative HP and the worg just scratched due to the bard critical fumbling everyone; and I had a NPC rescue them but delay their journey for a day while they recovered and they got no XP from the encounter but I then immediately directed them to a similar encounter which they got XP from, was I a bad GM? Because there was an almost-TPK in a plot-irrelevant encounter followed by cheesy DM intervention.
Note: this is the first time the players lost in a long time (and it's my first time GMing for them). I didn't make them make new characters because I didn't see the point with 1st lvl characters. The power imbalance has inexplicably cleared up at 2d lvl.

Hey! That's my local museum! Those things are great. There's a baby T-Rex (feathers and all), a triceratops and they're working on a saber-toothed cat. Great fun to watch the carnivore/herbivore demonstration where they make a kid dress like meat and another one dress like a plant and then turn the dino loose ...

I got another question to ask. Hopefuly one that won't be a spoiler type question.
Is Pazio ever come out with Pathfinder character sheets for sale? I am guessing since it has been 2+ years you guys don't have plans to do so...I always liked them. So if there are no plans why not?
Personally, I think that an official character sheet product would be pretty cool... but would it actually sell? They're relatively easy for fans to create and to distribute online. Would "official" Paizo sheets actually sell? Would they be worth the trouble and time, when there's lots of free options out there?
It's something we do keep coming back to looking at. It's just that we're really good at distracting ourselves with other projects, I guess.

What would advantage would these have over the ones that are free and be printed conveniently from any printer?
IIRC WoTC sold the same ones they had on the website. It came in handy those times when a player left their character home, but if you are in an FLGS there is normally someone in the store with extras. Most players would just use regular paper for that one session anyway.
PS:..just my thoughts on the situation.

But a full-on Dinosaur-themed AP? Good idea!
Agreed, I ran a 'Lost World' themed campaign, homebrewed, and the players loved it to pieces. A 'frozen' civilisation of culturally developed Lizardfolk with a distinctly Mayan theme, an ancient Dinosaur Demi-God, an evil cult led by the now-Undead disciple of the Demi-God's ancient rival, ruthless merchant consortiums vying for control of the 'Lost World' with a secret order of Wizards, Druids and Nature Clerics whom fought to keep such hidden sanctuaries free from modern influences. Players loved it to g@+#~#n bits. But as things go, the way I did it would only last three 'arcs' at most, rather than the six 'arcs' Pathfinder uses.
If I can get the damn thing restored (old hard-drive had a magnet run over it by a psychotic ex-member of our group) I'll email it in to you. Should be good for you to have a flick through and facepalm at the shenanigans the players got up to.
"No, you cannot name the Paladin's new Tyrannosaur Mount 'Grimlock'. He will eat you if you do, I swear!" springs to mind!

Since Alaznist and Karzoug have featured on the cover of Ultimate Magic does this mean that they are now officially Iconic Villains?
Hmm, for that matter Karzoug was on the GMG cover too, wasn't he, so at least in his case he possibly merits the status?
Edit:
I suppose arguably the Whispering Tyrant might be considered for the Iconic Villains list too. Interesting that these three are all arcane casters though - who might fall into the 'Iconic Villain' category for a more martial type (or divine caster for that matter)?

Actually, they aren't on the cover of the book, Setiyal, Alharazah and some exploding skeletons are. Karzoug and Alizant are on an inside image that Hyrum decieded to use for the wallpaper though.

They likely wouldn't sell as well as some people might think. As long as I had a laser printer and access to a free character sheet in digital format, I just wouldn't ever buy such a product.
My players and I use either Hero Lab print-outs or a fan-created character sheet layout that we really like, so a reproduction of the sheet from the Core Rulebook wouldn't suffice for my group's needs, anyway.

Why has the color of the Lich's glowing eyes changed from 3.5 (crimson) to PFRPG (Blue) ?
Three reasons.
1) "Glowing red eyes" feels like a cliche to me, and "glowing blue eyes" feels creepy, so I changed it.
2) There's no reason why liches, like people, can't have different color eyes. But we only illustrate one of them in the Bestiary, so we had to pick a color anyway.
3) 3.5 is not Pathfinder. And changes between the two, however minor, help to reinforce that. Even though the games are compatible, they're not the same.

Sure... but enough people DO have access to a printer that it's quite likely not worth it for us to just print and sell simple character sheets. They'd need to bring something to your table that the average gamer COULDN'T bring to the table in order to be justified, in our view, as a for-sale product.

Nope. It never happened, so no one knows what it would have been like. Those who believed it would happen knew only that it would be the BEST TIME TO BE ALIVE. And then Aroden died and things got worse.
AKA: The BEST TIME TO BE ALIVE is also the most boring time to have adventures. Aroden HAD to die in order for Golarion to be a fun, adventure-filled setting.

On the iconic villain front, it seems to me that Karzoug has popped up in sufficient places by now to have some claim to status as an iconic villain, and the Whispering Tyrant has recurred on the Campaign Setting/Inner Sea guide covers.
So what about the martial or divine caster iconic villains?
Edit:
Depending on her exact levels (currently unknown) does Abrogail II of Cheliax perhaps qualify as a martial iconic villain?

Also, always regarding the Dazing Spell metamagic feat, if this is applied to a spell that affects multiple targets (e.g. scorching rays or fireball) are all the targets potentially affected by the dazed condition, or only one single target - chosen by the caster - can be affected?
(I am a bit confused by the feat description: "when a creature takes damage from this spell, they become dazed...")
Thanks a lot!

Hello James, is it possible to apply the Dazing Spell metamagic feat [from the APG] to enervation or the feat only works on spells that inflict "standard" damage (i.e. hit points damage)?
Thanks a lot!T.
Enervation doesn't inflict damage, so I would say that effects that only affect spells that do damage wouldn't work.

If you take damage from a dazing spell and fail to save against the spell (or the daze effect), you're dazed. This means that for a spell like fireball, you could potentially daze a lot of targets.

Dear Mr Jacobs:
Some time back you offered to reveal some things about the soon-to-be-released module Tomb of the Iron Medusa. Boy, I sure would like to hear something about that eagerly anticipated adventure!

There's ABSOLUTELY a chance that we'll some day re-release an older adventure path like Rise of the Runelords. Doing something like this isn't easy, even though all the words and art are already there, though, so it'd be something we'd have to plan for a year or so in advance, just like all of our other books.
In case messageboard popularity impacts this decision at all, chalk me up as someone who would LOVE to see RotRL updated for Pathfinder and bound in a single volume as a complete adventure path. An included mini-gazetteer for Varisia would be great, too - or an additional softcover Varisia gazetteer which encompasses the info given in PF #s 1-6 to accompany the adventure path.
I'm currently running Burnt Offerings and Skinsaw Murders, and I'd love to see a more balanced and fully updated version of the adventure go to print - plus, my print copies are getting a LOT of love wear, and a hardbound copy would probably hold up much better in the long term.
