My friend and I were talking about a new Star Trek series the other day also, and we think that it'd be kind cool to move ST in the direction they're going with the Dark Tower movie: regular movies with a connecting series in between (http://spinoff.comicbookresources.com/2010/09/09/the-dark-tower-becomes-a- movie-trilogy-and-a-tv-series/). The series wouldn't have to be about the Enterprise crew, but some of them could appear occasionally for stories/ratings boosts.
(As a matter of fact, Spinoffonline had a similar idea using the Marvel Universe a couple of days later).
Good idea Ultradan. Kind of like The Outer Limits nut set in one universe (mostly).
That's what I was thinking... AND (like the Outer Limits) they could even have a few episodes that don't end well.
Like a group of Klingons on a planet fighting in the Dominion War that end up blowing themselves at the end up in order to save the incomming fleet... or something along those lines.
