Subdomains for Deities not listed in the APG

I am asking this here because this can't be adjudicated by the GM in PFS.

Will there be a supplement to assign subdomains to the less popular deities? As written, you couldn't, say, worship Angradd and take the Tactics subdomain, despite the fact that Gods and Magic say that "aggressive tactics" are one of his areas of concern and he represents the War domain.

Adjudication is simple. Subdomains can be chosen based on what the legal domains for the diety in question are. If for instance, your cleric's god would normally grant the Travel domain then any of the subdomains under that are a legal choice.

I am pretty sure I saw mentioned in another thread that things like this will be further detailed in the Ultimate Magic book next year. Plus, there may be more on this when the revised Campaign Setting book comes out next year as well.

We will get to this shortly. In the meantime, Josh is out on medical leave this week, so the safe bet is to stick with the official domains for these niche character choices.

I hope to answer this officially within the context of the campaign setting in general soon, and a number of upcoming products offer excellent ways to do this. The upcoming "Faiths of" books should probably specify this information, and we might even be able to fit something in the revised campaign setting book.

Further clarification in Ultimate Magic is unlikely, as we prefer to keep our Pathfinder RPG rulebooks as setting-agnostic as possible.

Erik, yeah, I meant to say the "Faiths of" books, not Ultimate Magic. I just remembered seeing in another thread talk about this being covered in a future product and remembered the wrong one. LoL

I don't think you can just assume a deity has access to all sub-domains related to his/her/its main domains. Taking Norgorber as an example - his primary domains are Death, Knowledge and Trickery, but only grants access to Murder, not Undead, despite having Death as a primary domain. This was most unfortunate for me, as I'm an innocent, if rather misguided little halfling, more interested in acquiring Knowledge - Norgorber tells me things; and not the least bit interested in Murder - despite the voices I hear in my head; and have focused all my feats on Channel Energy options - so the Undead sub-domain would have been a perfect fit for me! Alas, Norgorber disagrees - though I still think he's a rather nice god, even though he has a funny name.
