See my financial discussions with husband usually go like this.
Me: I just ordered $500 of minis online
Husband: Are the bills paid?
Me: Yup
Husband: Then it's your money do what you want, you don't need to run it by me.
You: High Bluff Check. Him: Low Sense Motive Check.
Like a boss!

How that goes in a straight marriage. ;)

I have friends with masters degrees and PhDs who are out of work.
My wife and mother are needling me to get my Masters degree, but the way the job market is, I'd be slitting my own throat in terms of my employment options. Part of it may indeed be the field of psychology/social work, as I feel we're getting into a situation where we have dozens upon dozens of social workers and new phd's who enter the field hoping to get rich, but find out they are completely replaceable/interchangeable.

Thanks for the kind words guys. Looks like she neither wants to be and can not afford to be a single mom. She will be moving at the end of Feb. She has to do whats best for her and hers. Ah well. On the up side it is very close to a couple of my fave FawTlies!

How long before Britney Spears rips off their song? :P
Well, we borrowed the tune from Cee Lo Green's "Forget You" (that's the clean version of the song). I doubt Ms. Spears will have much interest in it, since our version doesn't involve sex, drugs or poor child-care decisions. ;)
HEY!!!! You leave Britney be. She's a fellow Sagittarian!!!!

A little sticker to go with the little plaque they gave me at the beginning of the year when I did well, $100 bonus and a limo lunch on the company this Wednesday. I now have the B2 as well as the APG. I could have and should have spent it on other things. But it did help me participate on some things this year I was unable to last year. Not to mention take my wife out to eat.
So overall even complaining I should be saying work goes well. Or rather people seem to like talking to me on the phone most of the time.
Kids are both spending the night at friends houses, yet I will be home with a sick wife and unable to do much after work then watch more blasted TV. I think I might turn it off for a month, that and the computer, just for a break. It isn't like I can not watch some TV at work let alone have internet access all day long anyway.
Congratz on ze sticker. :)

Also, more than a few people at the second job last night(venue was located not too far away from where I used to live) told me I look like Cee Lo Green. I didn't know whether to laugh or cry.

Good luck to them. It's a tough decision to make either way you look at it.

We ended up not going out for our belated anniversary. Her parents took us to Cincinnati Skyline Chili and then picked up three movies from Redbox and had a movie marathon. The Social Network, The Town, and The Kids Are All Right were watched. All of them were good films. But I can't help but think that The Town reminds me a little of Heat (which is one of those movies when it shows up on tv, I have a habit of watching because it's there to watch).

I think "the Town" is based on the town that one of my co-workers grew up in. She was talking about it the other day. :)

I think she would be more excited to go, or not so scared to go if he were a bit more sympathetic and consoling. All she really needed to hear was that they would be ok, and that he understood her fears. Ugh, some men are morons. Anyways, I ended up consoling her and reminding her that she did grow up there, and that she has some friends and family, she wouldn't be alone. I really will miss her though. :(

I see all of my {new) posts are missing. Just as well, I have been off the grid since Friday, noon because my wife and I were busy gaming at OwlCon! It was our first game convention and we both had a blast. Her elven druid any my human inquisitor are now level 2!
I see many more game conventions in our future, there are a bunch in Texas. Unfortunately Paizocon does not work into our schedule this year, but GenCon is a real possibility.
Hope everyone else's weekend went well.

When Mindy and I flew out in July '07 to see The Police play at Fenway, we were reliving the experience because we actually stayed in Charlestown right near the harbor and saw the hotel we stayed at. =)

For some reason I think of you as quite trim, but I was also beginning to think your second job was being a dancer.

I'm not sure why people think they are going to make a lot of money in the field of psychology and social work. I almost went into psych then I almost went into constitutional law. I wouldn't have minded staying in IC wafer fab and chemical management if those industries hadn't collapsed.
In any case, psychology seems to be one of the fields where advanced degrees are least likely to pay big dividends. I just can't imagine who gets a degree in social work and thinks they are going to get rich.

Ummm....yeah, explanation.....
My birthday is on Wednesday, but Dan is scheduled to be traveling then so we went and got my birthday present today instead. Hey,not going to complain about getting my present early. And I got a Kindle. About which I am obviously very, very happy. :)
Cool! Happy early birthday!

Getting more an more ideas for this Ravenloft thing...
Anyway, we went to the zoo today, which was fun. Watched the sun set over the Gulf. Enjoyed the fact that we weren't buried in snow and freezing our asses off.
Seems to me like being buried in snow and freezing your asses off might be closer to Ravenloft than subtropical touristing...but glad you're having a nice time. ;-)

Earlier than expected, actually. I had anticipated it by the end of this week. I would have been an unhappy drow if that package had disappeared when we were out of town for a funeral.
Now, to find the Gorilla Glue.

If I had it handy. Will see how this goes first. Currently tilted upwards to let it adhere for awhile. May swab a second coat around the exterior later.
I thought it was going to be larger, to be honest. I guess I got spoiled by that Gargantuan Orcus.
