Well, Rob and George barely survived their encounter in a run-down tower against a very nasty customer. Meanwhile, Max's efforts to win the local Christmas baking contest were disrupted when his new, hi-tech oven achieved sentience and began to plot it's takeover of the culinary world. And, across town, Scott was hoping that this Christmas he would finally get that personally submarine....No, wait! That's my soap opera.

So our first session of Rise of the Runelords got off to a awesome start last night. Great character synergy, and an incredible show down with one of the main villains ending in 4 battered and wounded heroes facing the fact that they may not be up to the challenge of saving their home. And he didn't even bother to finish them off, just walked off laughing at them and promising they would meet again.... one final time.

I thought of buying little tiny Lego sets for everyone in my gaming group. But then I got scared everyone would think it was too immature or stupid or something so I didn't. :(
What? "That would be the coolest!" says the guy whose father got him a LEGO VIP membership last Christmas.

Lego guys make great minatures, they almost never fall over or anything!!
Or excellent minis to use if you're needing more minions for that full scale mass combat. I would point that out to those who are playing in her group on the first comment of 'immature'.

Good Morning FAWTL. Looks like we are in for another 6 inches of snow today (welcome back Jyuch1.) But it is only a 4 day week for me.:) Replaced the TV yesterday. Tonight I finish reconfiguring the entertainment center and fix the power switch on the vacuum cleaner. Electronics are out to get me this month.

I have to laugh, I think I'm the most northerly dwelling Fawtly here in Newfoundland and Guess what? We still have no snow, we had snow only once so far this season and it was like 3 inches and melted the next day :P

Cities are cutting back on salting the roads. Ack!
Yeah, the winter of 2007-2008 was my last in Grand Rapids, and we got 100 inches of snow and the city ran out of salt in late February. That sucked. They grabbed sand off the beaches of the lake to get something on the hills, and that was about it for March. The snow plows ended up ripping up the overpass I took to work up so much I could see the steel rebar. Ugh.
At least you know how to drive on it when at need.
That's true! But when no one else does, that's still crazy dangerous; I just stay off the road as much as I can when weather hits Houston. :)

With all of the military folks here we have wildly variable winter driving skill levels on the road at any given time. It can be interesting.

Pfft.
We have a lot of people from California and Texas who have now made this their home as well. But, coming from Chicago area, the city maintenance people here have no idea how to clear off snow and ice. The general concensus seems to be to wait until it stops snowing and then figure out if it's worth going out. They then put down sand at all the intersections and call it a day. Making it nearly as dangerous when the snow and ice melts.

Yeah, one thing I was bummed about this year - not going anywhere for Christmas means not seeing my folks or any of my brothers. Then I remembered - I don't have to deal with my wife's family either! SCORE!

So I learned I get to work 12 hours on Christmas. *sigh*
I suppose someone has too, I mean I don't have kids or family I want to spend time with. I guess better me than someone else.
Depending on how the whole gov't budget things work out, I'm not sure what the rest of my holiday will look like. I think the last continuing resolution keeps the gov't running through tomorrow.

Yeah, I know that kind of budget stuff is something my parents don't miss about dad working for the government.

Then they leave tons of sand on the freaking side streets in the spring. Sandy streets and motorcycles are a suboptimal combination.

I heard from this guy at the bar who heard it from his brother's sister's friend's uncle, that Sebastian used to be a unicorn until ... you know, THE operation. Afterwards, he regretted the loss of his horn and opted for the combover pony look. The guy also said that Sebastian likes Halloween.
