Things get weird around puberty.

Reminds me of a time when I was 19 and decided to go with a college friend back to his home out near Canisteo, NY during the Xmas holidays. We were staying at his mothers, but spent one evening at his father's. This was back when they were still sorting out the VHS vs. Betamax wars. We thought we were cool when we uncovered his old man's porn stash and started watching one of them. Then his dad turns up when we thought he was sleeping and sat down and watched it with us. No-one said a word.

Awkward.

fistbump

Had the EXACT same experience with my friend's uncle(it's always a creepy uncle!!!) YEARS ago. He was really cool dude, at least until he offered to start rolling us all blunts, which I was not(and still not) into.

No, no, NO! You can't pin me on this, buddy! Even I have limits mixing those two. I do have standards in my debauchery; even I'd refrain invoking rule 34 on that. You're soloing that one-way trip to Hell, thank you very much. ;-)

Me: How are your doc companies dealing with the issue?

Me: How are they disclosing this specific type of scenario?
Them: But they don't have a problem with that.
Me: I know they don't have a problem because you keep telling me. That doesn't tell my what they are doing differently. Can you please send me sample docs?
Them: But they're not the ones with the problem.

** spoiler omitted **...

I like these better:

Spoiler:

1 Never screw (over) your partner.
2 Always wear gloves at a crime scene.
3 Don't believe what you're told. Double check.
6 Never say you're sorry. It's a sign of weakness.
7 Always be specific when you lie.
8 Never take anything for granted.
9 Never go anywhere without a knife.
10 Never get personally involved in a case.
11 When the job is done, walk away.
12 Never date a coworker.
13 Never, ever involve lawyers.
15 Always work as a team.
18 It's better to ask forgiveness than ask permission.
22 Never, ever interrupt Gibbs in interrogation.
23 Never mess with a Marine's coffee if you want to live.
27 There are two ways to follow:1st way - they never notice you; 2nd way - they only notice you.
38 Your case, your lead.
39 There is no such thing as coincidence.
40 If it seems like someone's out to get you, they are.
44 First things first, hide the women and children.
45 Clean up your messes.
51 Sometimes - you're wrong.

It does take patience and concentration. Good news is your work is a representation of you. I'll keep you posted on what I think as I go. So far I'm loving it.
Cool, do you get to learn wire feed?

Metal Inert Gas Welding (MIG) will probably be this fall. Hobby style wire (without gas) no practice. MIG is wire fed though and seeing the work done by some of the students looks awesome.

damn you ~dragon~ the closest Popeye's is about 40 minutes away, that and I am on a diet. So double problem for me. I loves me some Popeye's and their dirty rice.

Also it is so gorram frakking cold here. Only 0 with a windchill of -11. Supposed to get to -11 with a windchill of about -16 at best.

So it's warm there. We are due to get to -12 tonight with a -25 to -30 wind chill. ;)

to tell the truth we are now 0 (-12) so if I guess right it might end at -12(-24) so yes it is balmy here. whats this I hear about pond hockey this weekend in MN? Saw something about it on The Weather Channel.

oh and a rant from me my two test pieces for welding today ended up badly. my 16ga lap joint with filler just looked ugly. Without filler not so bad but had one inclusion bubble, a little section of the top piece was bitten off, and I started the weld a little hot. Good news is that neither one had significant undercut showing if any at all. Well that and we were told that to get a high C in the class was pretty hard to achieve in oxy-acetylene. Start on "T"s tomorrow with brazing and cutting still to go.

How much practice do you get? I think there's no substitute for lots of good practice.
from class it is 4 hours a day 5 days a week, so only 20 hours a week. I just wish I knew someone with a shop so I could practice after class.

I guess it's like anything else. Some folks have more natural aptitude, but there is no substitute for experience. I know some Navajo boiler makers and tube welders who are just amazing, but they have been doing this for a long time. Hopefully I'll get to see them on the job in February.

I don't mind the cold right now. I get to play with 5300-6300 degree flames for half the day now. not looking forward to summer now.
How's that going for you? I ask because I'm thinking about going into the trades after I get my degree (or go irreparably insane in the process), and have been considering welding.
I'm liking it a lot, even though I am only just starting with oxy-acetylene. Looking forward to stick, mig and tig. For me it's rewarding to continuously improve. It does take patience and concentration. Good news is your work is a representation of you. I'll keep you posted on what I think as I go. So far I'm loving it.

There is definitely money to be made in the field of TIG pressure vessel and tube welding when there is work if you're willing to travel and work brutal hours.

I am sorry I haven't had a chance to read this and review it. I am suffering from a distinct inability to manage time properly.

When does pr0n become appropriate? J/K

Ok, well that was only a little creepy. :P
Too much time with Urizen of late. And obviously I would not watch pr0n with Jude ever. :)

Awkward.

That was really creepy. Very disturbing.
