I don't have my Bestiary in front of me... would they keep the advanced template? If so, hell yes!
Maybe we can make them fast zombies while we're at it.

Fast moving evil ducks that want to eat our brains? I believe the template is called 'Muscovy'.

As in the other side of the highway?

As in "as close to both Paizo and the airport as it always has been, more or less."
I should also note that we have not ruled out returning to the Bellevue Coast—it's still a leading candidate.

What would be really cool?
Redmond Marriott Town Center.
Closer to the Paizo office. IN the Town Center. Everything within walking distance....food, gaming store, bookstore, bars, coffee. Everything necessary.
I know that Foolscap is held there in September....to give you an idea of cost and such.

Not at all familiar with the place , but that certainly sounds ideal!

I'm wondering about a date as well - I'll be attending PaizoCon for the first time this year (almost went last year but something came up at the last minute)
I know that last year the con was June 18 - 20 (Father's Day weekend) so it might be safe to assume this year will be pretty close to the same time. Father's Day weekend this year will be June 17 - 19
If it helps, Origins Game Fair will be June 22-26 this year and GenCon is August 4-7, so those dates probably will NOT be when PaizoCon is ...
Of course, I've been wrong before!

Until we finalize a location, we can't finalize the dates. We're shooting for early June, but i wouldn't go booking flights based on that.

The ducks this year need to be shot if they can't line up properly.
Hopefully before Jan 30, Duck season in Washington State ends on that date!!!

According to Jeff, their available space is actually smaller than our space at the Coast.

Huh. Their info boasts "10 meeting rooms, and 10,000 sq ft of total meeting space. Largest meeting room is Grand Ballroom with maximum meeting space of 5,824 sq ft and maximum seating capacity of 647"
I looked at the Coast's website, and it looks like only 6500 sq ft.
The key here, though, is the layout. Marriot does have more space, but the rooms are bigger, and cannot be split out as nicely, it seems. Complicated!!!
But, I'm not always right. Not at all! Jeff knows better than me! ;-)
I admit I was being selfish. Redmond Town Center is nearby my house, and its location would make it super easy to go eat at dozens of restaurants within walking distance.

Man, I was just teasing (you knew that, right?) I don't care if you have it under some bridge downtown. I just look forward to hanging out with all you cool people again.
And I already signed up for the Meet & Eat. You can have it at McDonald's and I'll still be there.

Correct me if you're seeing something differently, but their site doesn't seem to include the large room where we held the big seminars... and they also don't count the lobby area that we use for registration.
Yeah, you are correct there, Vic. That room on the far side of the lobby area, as well as the lobby area itself, aren't on the Coast's website info.
I haven't actually scoped out the Marriott in person, so I'm being a pest at this point. I'll just say that I'm happy with the Coast, and I'll be happy with anyplace else Paizo picks as a better venue!

Frustrating as hell for those of us who live more than a four hour drive away and need to plan international flights. At least I'm not a school teacher so getting time off work isn't too hard - unless it's school hols (ours, not yours) and someone else has already asked for that time off.
Vic, have you considered using multiple hotels, on opposite street corners or next to each other? Just a thought if you're stuck on space/date issues.
Gonna go see if I can get a blunderbuss - takes out more than one duck at a time :-)

No need—the Coast meets our minimum requirements, and is a perfectly good fallback. We're still looking at a couple of other possibilities, though.

I hope you are also able to get into a game that Neil Spicer is running, if he does run one this next PaizoCon. I lucked out last time purely on the fact that you didn't make it to the last one and I feel I haven't thanked you (and Neil) enough. So, thank you for last year!

That's assuming I make it to PaizoCon this year (or any con for that matter, because I'd certaily choose PaizoCon over any other). Finances are just getting a lot tighter this year. But if I do get out to Seattle again, I'll probably run something. Either a repeat of Shadow of the Fellnight Queen or something entirely new.

Heh, yeah ... it was a shame I had to pull out at more or less the last minutes BUT I'm honestly thrilled you were able to take my place and that you had such a good time!
I AM planning on making it this year though!!!!

Not to put any pressure on you *maybe I am ;)*... But you have until Jan 22 to announce this *For me at least*... If ya don't on the 23 I will have to decide if I am going to GenCon or this since that is when PreGen starts and you need to do it early if ya want to get a Hotel.

The only issue I had with the Coast in 2009 was the crampt banquet seating, and for some reason that wasn't a problem at all in 2010. My Creepy Vibe spell is perfected!
If anything, Id like to suggest that you start collecting volunteer GMs for "official" games as early as possible for 2011. It seemed to me like there were fewer in 2010 than in 2009, or maybe just more players than in 2009, making it harder to get into a "choice" game.
And yeah, I did volunteer and run a game in 2010 and will be happy to do it again in 2011 :-) I hope someone out there is going to take it upon themselves to run the new Gamma World.

Dragnmoon:
If you can arrange to share a hotel with someone who drove to the con, there are a number of less expensive ones that do not get booked at 0.038 femtoseconds after the web site opens.
I won't post the Indy hotel I use. They're very convenient, nicely priced and I want them to still have room reservations when I call to book a room. :)
