With the con getting closer, my character is not going to hit the level 3 mark I was shooting for. He will only be level 2 by the time we get there. I am scheduled for 3 PFS events and now am getting worried I may not be able to find a group with characters close in level. Everyone else I've talked to has mid level characters, very few seem to have 1st and 2nd level. I know the sub-tiers are there to make it easier to make a table, I'm just worried about how many people will actually have characters level 1-3. And how many of those will actually be in the same slots as me. Anyone who has played at large conventions before, how difficult was it for you to find the right level table?

I can guarantee you won't have any trouble finding a level-appropriate table. If you do, track me down and I'll buy you a Coke.

It wasn't a problem last year. Yes there were more mid-level players, but we never had trouble making a table.
I personally am bringing along both my (should be at that point) 6th level Wizard and 2nd level Cavalier. One of my scheduled slots is at a 5-9 adventure, so I'll be playing the Wizard through on that one, but the other two 1-7 adventures are completely up in the air with a strong leaning towards playing the lower-level character.
Have hope. It won't be that bad.

Many people have had to make 2nd characters and find themselve in the 3rd to 4th range so, I'm not sure that you are in that bad of a spot. Not to mention that there should be a few GMs out there with GM reward characters that will be in that range as well. (I have a 4th Level character myself) I think we will be able to accomidate you well at Gen Con. If for nothing else, if you end up in table with some people playing pregens that are the right level.
GenCon is the Convention Granddaddy, so we shouldn't have any issues.
