Raven Knights of Andoran

The Raven Knights are a very small, volunteer group of likeminded individuals that seek to make sure the Andoran ideals stay true to their original beliefs, and that Andoran itself, as a symbol, does not favor one political or religious group more than others and start down the road of corruption.

Most Raven Knights come from a religious background, Clerics and Paladins being a majority, but no one is excluded if they believe strongly in order’s core tenets. Many raven Knights actually come from the ranks of former Taldorians and Chelaxians who disapprove of their homelands current political and religious choices, but still feel that there is hope to reverse it. When joining Andoran’s ranks, they didn’t really find what they where looking for, and eventually began to group with others that felt similarly.

Raven Knights are the unknown spiritual and ethical core of the Eagle Knights, hoping to spread peace and a sense of personal responsibility with Andoran’s freedom. They are much more often than not the unsung heroes, and do not act for personal glory, honor, or reward, but rather the betterment of all.

The Raven Knights feel that freedom is a worthy goal, but must also be self regulated. Without a sense of responsibility, or keeping the consequences of actions in mind, freedom becomes one of the most dangerous standards one can follow. Nothing can destroy a nation, a group, a church, whatever more devastatingly than unadulterated freedom.

Another major founding belief of the Raven Knights is that Andoran, as a symbol of what is best in mortal philosophies can not, and should not ever slide into the ethical trap of favoring one faith, political view, or other secular group more so than any others. This even applies to evil faiths, but not to those that break local laws, cause harm to others, or otherwise go against Andoran’s general beliefs. The Raven Knights, however do believe in making sure that those faiths are rightfully judged, to make sure that mob justice does not do anything that people will regret later, and also to keep fearful prejudices from claiming innocent lives.

Many Raven Knights dress similar to the traditional Eagle Knights, in fact many hailing from them and still claim allegiance to the original orders rather than Raven knights who are more a philosophical school than another group. Common differences are that there are many more Divine casters, it is almost more common that members come from outside of Andoran, and commonly wear Eagle Knight dress, except with shades of green and grey rather than blue and white. Additionally, it is not uncommon for the individuals to blend in some of their native clothing with Andorian outfits.

The Raven Knights remain in contact fairly commonly, though there isn't any established chain of command. The group tends to defer to those more experienced and knowledgeable about specific goals and through unwritten merit than chivalric organization. Many raven Knights task themselves with duties to monitor areas, to act as councilors or rules or other leaders, to act as missionaries of general Andoranian principles, or to act as diplomats and negotiators between other groups to prevent either war or the common folk from suffering in the end.

I want to include some of the founding deities, and how the organizations own beliefs forbids them from favoring them too much :)

A little more in depth and precise about their goals and beliefs, how they interact with other sub-factions of the Eagle Knights, as well as how common Raven's behave on missions in country and abroad.

Other nifty ideas that come up, with some quirks, Traits, and maybe a Feat or two

New spells and items common among the Raven's

I am thinking also of a Prestige Class for Divine casters that blends some of the ideas and principles of the founding deities and an alternate build for the Eagle knight Prestige class in the Andoran Guide to better fit this concept.
