Zeldin can detect a strong aura emanating from both the panel, and the stones fixed into it, he isn't quite sure which schools the auras belong to, but the strength of the aura seems to be fluctuating slightly. Looking at the panel from several angles reveals that the aura of the panel extends down into the ground, and a much fainter aura can be detected from the nearby pillar.
It seems that a sudden surge of arcane energy might have caused the stones to flare and melt the sockets around them, and possibly even disintegrated whatever stone was in the top slot entirely. Zeldin has heard of ioun stones occasionally loosing their colour, and associated powers, when damaged in this way.

Samant will pop out his stone and hand it to Zeldin.
So I get hauled up like a sack of shingles? Well ok then
Zeldin drops the stone into the opening and observes it for any reaction. As he does so he banters with Samant, Do not think you are getting a free ride friend! We want you up there first so you can pull the rest of us up!

As Zeldin places the stone into the slot, the panel begins to buzz loudly and the low roar from below suddenly becomes much louder briefly before settling down to its original volume, though with a slightly higher pitch.
All six of the stones flare with a bluish light, that soon fades to an intermittent clear glow, though as the light dims Zeldin can see that the socket into which he inserted the stone has now melted, much like the other five on the panel, holding the ioun stone firmly in place.

Samant: Yes, all of the stone you have found so far have been gray, the ones in the panel are still gray, but there was a brief flash of colour that quickly faded.
Garion: It would be a ranged attack against AC 5 to throw your starknife over the platform, with no penalty since the target is no more than one range increment away.
Garion launches his tied off starknife over the platform held up by the south east column. The weapon then falls to clatter to the ground opposite, leaving the rope suspended over the platform. Just as this happens, the roar from below seems to rush upwards, encompassing the room and centering on the four columns.
As the volume dies down again, the columns begin to rotate clockwise slowly, dragging Garion's starknife along a circular path o the ground. After completing a single rotation, each of the columns extends from it's centre a series of steps leading between each of the platforms supported by it.

Hi Stormraven! In the culture of NIK's ancestors in the North the raven was the eyes and messengers of the Gods! Welcome!
My thanks for your kind greeting, Nik. I'm glad Hugin and Munin are alive and well in the Ulfen-esque tradition. :) IRL - Raven is totem for me. Yikes! Forgot this wasn't the OOC discussion thread - apologies for jumping into your game.

Sorry about that, I got infected and then my pc just died. My wife and I went out and bought a new laptop yesterday.
UH OH!!! You mean I should not have bought those perscriptions, or sent my gold for "Assured fast payments", or gotten an online degree from those links? Next you will tell me that I did not win the UK lottery, and that I am not getting part of a large Nigerian oil fortune. :( This is not good news! I figured you were just letting me in on this stuff because we are friends and all.

Sorry for the delay, I was away over the weekend.
Reaching the highest door takes you up the stairway until the lowest platform on the nearby pillar is in line with the top, so you can step onto it, from there you climb up to the next platform, and from there you can wait for it to line up with a platform on the adjacent pillar to the north. Once on that platform it is a simple matter to climb to the platform that is of the same height as the door, but the platform is still moving, so checking the door over proves quite tricky for Nik. You can still make the Perception check, but it will be at a -2 penalty since you're being moved away from the door while you're looking.
Inspecting the notes on the platforms along the way, Zeldin finds that the notes are indeed similar to those below, several maps, along with notes in some amalgamated language that if unfamiliar to him. Anyone looking at the notes can make either a Perception or Knowledge(Geography) check (The DC of the Perception check will be higher).

            Perception: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (8) + 4 = 12 (I think its +6-2 right Calix?)
As NIK takes a "ride" on the moving platforms:
"This Lady Anita sure created some wonderful mechanical things! Imagine a theater or fest hall with stuff like this!"
NIK is getting ideas in her head ... dreaming of maybe one day, a place of her own ...

Zeldin:Yep, you can make another one for the desks on the platforms. The construct is still trying to walk through the wall.
The door opens outwards, so it would probably be easier to open the door, then hop in on the next pass. It'll be an acrobatics check, and you can indeed tie Nik to a rope in case she falls.
I'm about to head off for the weekend, I'll probably get another post in tonight when I arrive, but otherwise I'll probably not be posting much before Monday evening.
