Weapon and Armor Proficiencies: Iron Chefs are proficient with all simple weapons. They are also proficient with light armor, bucklers, and light shields.

Class Features:

Platters - Platters are created in the same manner as an Alchemist’s extracts.

Cooking Mastery - You gain a bonus to the Profession (Chef) skill equal to your class level. In addition, you may use the Profession (Chef) skill to create alchemical items as though using the Craft (Alchemy) skill.

Cookbook - A cook begins play with a Cookbook, which contains two 1st Level recipes, plus a number of additional recipes equal to the Iron Chef’s Wisdom Modifier. At each new level, an Iron Chef adds one new recipe to his spell book for every spell level he can cast. An Iron Chef can also add recipes to his cookbook in the same way that a Wizard adds spells to his spell book.

Secret Ingredient - Starting at level 2, and again every 2 levels thereafter, an Iron Chef learns apply a new ingredient or technique to his recipes. Some ingredients can only be discovered once the Iron Chef has met certain prerequisites first, such as discovering new ingredients. Unless otherwise noted, you cannot use more than one ingredient at a time. The DC for any saving throw called for by the addition of a Secret Ingredient is equal to 10+ ½ Iron Chef Level+ the Iron Chef’s Wisdom modifier.

Improvised Weapon Specialty - When wielding special tools of the chef’s trade (such as frying pans, rolling pins, and butcher’s knives), the Iron Chef deals an additional 1d4 damage with all melee and ranged attacks with these weapons. In addition, while wielding such weapons, the Iron Chef gains an additional +1 Insight bonus to Armor Class. Both of these bonuses increase as the Iron Chef gains levels. Note that, for the purposes of qualifying as an improvised weapon, cooking knives, skewers, etc., qualify as improvised weapons because they are not designed for combat.

Favored Enemy - Because of extensive dicing training and the understanding of plant and animal anatomy needed to create good dishes, Iron Chefs gain the Favored Enemy ability against creatures of the Plant and Animal types. This ability functions as the Ranger ability by the same name.

Spicy Cooking - You gain 10 Fire Resistance. At the beginning of the day, when the Iron Chef prepares his recipes, he may choose to make them extra spicy. Any platters that deal fire damage deal additional damage equal to the Iron Chef’s Level. In addition, any improvised weapons the Iron Chef wields now deal fire damage. Finally, all improvised slashing weapons you use to deal fire damage with this effect deal damage as though the weapon were one size category larger.

Frozen Food Specialty - You gain 10 Cold Resistance. At the beginning of the day, when the Iron Chef prepares his recipes, he may choose to prepare all of them using deep cold. Any platters that deal cold damage now also require the opponent to succeed at a Fortitude save or be Slowed for a number of rounds equal to the recipe level. In addition, any improvised weapons the Iron Chef wields now deal cold damage. Finally, all improvised bludgeoning weapons you use to deal cold damage with this effect deal damage as though the weapon were one size category larger.

The Tie that Binds - Once per day, when the Iron Chef prepares and eats a meal with others, the people eating with the Iron Chef gain the effects of a Telepathic Bond (as the spell) for a number of hours equal to the Iron Chef’s level. In addition, the Iron Chef has incorporated the foods of other cultures into his cooking. When relating to the other nationalities or humanoid races of Golarion, an Iron Chef may use his Profession (Chef) skill in the place of the Diplomacy and Intimidate skills.

Blue-Plate Special - The Iron Chef has mastered the art of creating and improvising with his recipes. The Iron Chef immediately gains 2 new recipes, and gains one of the following Blue-Plate Specials. In addition, the Iron Chef becomes more deadly with his improvised weapons. The Iron Chef treats all improvised weapons he wields as though he had the Improved Critical feat with them (increasing the critical hit range to 17-20/x2).

Secret Ingredients:

Extra Ingredients - You may apply the effects of 2 recipes into a single platter. When the recipe is consumed, both effects are applied to your recipe. An iron chef must be at least 8th level in order to select this Secret Ingredient.

Splash of Wine - Allies affected by your Platters gain a +2 insight bonus to Will saves for the duration of the effect. This bonus increases to +3 at level 8, and +4 at level 16.

BAM! - Allies (including you) affected by your Platters gain a bonus to melee attack rolls equal to your Wisdom Modifier for the duration of the effect.

Deep Fry - Once per day, you may deal additional fire damage on any one melee attack equal to your iron chef level. In addition, the target takes a penalty to attack rolls and skill checks for one round equal to your Wisdom Modifier.

Flavor Explosion - Platters you create that deal hit-point damage deal damage equal to the number of damage dice as splash damage to targets within 5’ of the main target. This follows the standard rules for splash weapons.

Slice ‘n Dice - As part of a full attack action, you may make an additional attack with an improvised weapon at your highest attack bonus. You may use this ability a number of times per day equal to your Wisdom modifier. You must be at least 8th level to select this Secret Ingredient.

Uncooked Seafood - A Platter affected by this Ingredient has its damage halved. In addition, targets affected by the spell are Nauseated for a number of rounds equal to the spell level.

Food Poisoning - A Platter affected by this Ingredient deals no damage. Instead, the Platter deals 1d2 Constitution damage per round for a number of rounds equal to the recipe level. A successful Fortitude save negates the effect for one round. You must be at least 4th level to select this Ingredient.

Steam Cook - A Platter modified by this ingredient that deals fire damage works normally underwater.

Chicken Soup for the Soul - Platters modified by this ingredient grant the target a +2 bonus to saving throws made to resist the effects of Disease and Death effects for a number of rounds equal to the iron chef‘s Wisdom modifier. This bonus increases to +3 at level 6, +4 at level 10, and grants immunity to both effects at level 14.

Sweet and Sour Sauce - Platters modified by this ingredient grant allies affected by the platter a +4 bonus to saving throws against mind-affecting spells and effects. Additionally, any ally affected by the platter may make a saving throw to end each negative effect currently affecting him.

Ravening Food - You may create a dish so good that any that eat it crave more. Three times per day, you may create a special kind of food which grants whoever eats it a +4 insight bonus to Strength, and gives the consumer a Bite attack that deals 1d6 damage (1d4 for small creatures).

Scarab Sages

I'm still working on the Recipe list, as well as some of the Secret Ingredients and Blue-Plate Specials.

I...want to play this class. ^_^

Will it include the Morimoto double knife TWF technique?

Scarab Sages

I tried my best to give the class a two-weapon fighting feel with the Slice 'n Dice ability. That plus a decent dexterity, two-weapon fighting, and the attack bonus buff from the BAM! ability should make two-weapon fighting a usable technique, especially with the bonus damage from Improvised Weapon Specialization.
