There are basically two scenes - one in the bordello, concerning the drawings Fronsac made of Sylvia, and one where the Marquis asks Fronsac to take up the hunt for the beast again, despite the kings order. Unfortunatly (at least with the german DVD) they are not seamlessly integrated, the cuts are extremely annoing, and (again, for the german DVD) the additional 8 minutes were only in the OL.

The Wolfman, followed closely by the Black Lagoon creature and Frankenstein's monster, has been my favorite Universal monster since I was a wee lad. When Le Pacte des Loups came out in North America around the time of The Fellowship of the Rings, I appalled my friends by preferring it to the Tolkien/Jackson epic. Van Helsing is the worst movie I ever enjoyed, in large part because of the werewolf elements. (The movie is much more agreeable with the sound off and left in the background of a game night or projected on the wall of Halloween party.) Werewolves feature prominently in a couple of my previous books.
I think it's safe to say I'm a longtime fan of the lycanthrope.

Heh, took me a few moments to figure out the translation on that one, but I have seen Brotherhood of the Wolf. I do not own a copy, but the extra scenes mentioned earlier sound familiar, so I have probably seen the director's cut. As for upgrading to it, you should evaluate that on the other extras included as well, since director's cuts usually have other bonus stuff besides the added scenes. Also remember, while I do not think it was done with this one, sometimes directors will remove some stuff while adding other stuff back in to make the movie more of what they wanted it to look like in the first place before theatrical release, so owning multiple versions is sometimes needed.
