I'd love to play Dark Heresy, but I admit that I'm VERY rusty on the rules as I've never played the system before. But I do have the core and inquisitors rulebooks, though. Someone would have to be patient with me in the beginning. Are you using DH rules, or are you going to try a d20 style of it?
Most likely, I'll be using the actual DH rules.

Before people get too excited over this, I'm going to have to establish some character rules: Due to the nature of this particular RP, characters are going to be limited to Guardsmen (Inquisitorial Stormtroopers) or Tech Priests. You can probably convince me of other professions, but you'll need to be someone who was raised in the Schola and became part of a Stormtrooper Squad. OR you can be a Tech Priest as part of a Tech Magos' retinue (who will be your main mission provider and liason, as your Inquisitor is off doing something particularly heroic as usual).

Well, I decided to go with an Imperial World Tech-Priest. Here's what I have so far. (I rolled surprisingly well for stats.)

I would like to play an Hive World Guardsman. Just let me know how you want to run things and I will roll him up.

Thanks for posting that example, Davi. I'll have to crack open my pretty hardbound and digest the rules a little. I may bug you with some questions if you don't mind.

Whoah. That can do all the character gen for you, Jared? May make things easier while I try to learn the system on the fly.
Well, he hasn't spent his 400 starting experience yet, or anything else the GM might give us. If you want a look at some slightly more advanced character sheets, might I point at the other Dark Heresy pbp on these boards?
Anyway, don't worry. The basic system's just "roll beneath the target number on a d100". Just remember, your basic 30-ish target number's for the challenging stuff. Combat's somewhat more complex than that, but the core rule's easy enough to get.

Unless he gives more exp/ gelts, as I doesn't give you all the talents and you can't go beyond the first 400 exp and whatever gelts your class gets you. It is definitely easier for you, I grant it that.

Enoch Ravion wrote:Well, other than spending my 250 or so credits, I should be just about done. You should have more than that. Tech Priests get at least 150 per month times 12 months in a year=1800 thrones.
Hmm. Well, that's what I get for not paying attention.
Anyway, permission to buy a thing or two from the Inquisitor's Handbook? Mainly looking at the slightly-better, more expensive version of the lasgun.

Granted. Just to intercept some of you folks, those of you who are choosing Guardsmen as their profession, you'll automatically be getting Carapace Armor (full body) and Hellguns. Those of you who are Tech Priests can start off with an additional 2 free mechanical augmentations to offset the imbalance.

I play Dark Heresy table top and my GM has a pretty sweet character sheet that is excel based and links everything up. Let me know if you want me to email it over to you Dark Knight so you can review and maybe send to your PBP DH players.
Im not in this game but I would like this sheet (starting a table top in the next few weeks) email Jvirtue55 at Yahoo.com
