Advanced Player's Handbook final playtest in PFS?

Pathfinder Society

Josh:
At what point does the updated playtest document that Jason just released take over from the old playtest documents for the purposes of PFS play?
(And for that matter, when do the actual Advanced Player's Handbook rules take over from the playtest rules?)

If you could clarify this, please?
Thanks.

I assume the Brew Potion feat that alchemists get is just nuked outright for PFS play? Or do they get something to replace it?

Good point! I updated the Alchemist post here.

Dodge? Why Dodge? Why not something like... a Skill Focus in Craft (Alchemy)? I'm just curious as to why that particular feat was chosen as a replacement. Weapon Focus (bombs) might (maybe?) be an option as well.

Two reasons:

(1) When I replaced Leadership with Persuasion for the Nobility domain I received many complaints. So I avoided swapped Brew Potion for a skill bonus feat.

(2) We considered the Weapon Focus route, but decided not every Alchemist is necessarily going to be the guy who throws bombs (though it is likely the better low-level build).

So, for now, it's Dodge.

Once the APG comes out and the classes are final, it'll likely be changed to a feat in the APG.

Thanks! I didn't really have a problem with it, I was just wondering how you arrived at that decision. :)

So a low-level level Alchemist could begin with Dodge and Mobility, making him able to scoot around the battlefield and dose up the bad guys with poisons without worrying too much about being eaten alive by AoOs. Cool!
