That is awesome. He needs to go on my self with my Hawaiian Cthulhu.
I am surprised...never pictured you as a Nietzsche fan. He's right up there with Blake for me.

Never said I was a fan. I think he would be a great snack for a vacationing Cthulhu.:)

I have however read some Nietzsche. Just don't agree with much.

Yer lookin' in the wrong place.

:P It wasnt the Woolies they hit with the Bombing in Darwin, it was the TIO building (Insurance company) Notorious for screwing the little people when it comes time to pay out on housing and life insurance. t@%! didnt even make an effort...went with a petrol bomb apparently.

Someone has apparently turned themselves into the police station - yes I watch the news.

Mind you the Old Woolies stands at the heart of the city and is vacant. Disused for 20 years. Ideal spot for investment.

Oh yeah, the news report I heard an hour ago said Woolworths. The report on Triple J right now is saying TIO.

Way too creepy for me.

Hmmm....maybe he's riding a kangaroo then, or a diprotodon.
Perhaps a little brevity would blunt the sheer shock value of it.

Will wonders never cease? :P
Full of fond childhood memories that Woolies...Even the giant Dinosaur emerging from the hyperspatial rift to eat people.

That sounds Like Primeval the Brit TV show. The little blond on that show is cute.

Do the Dino's eat the Kanga's?

Kanga's ate the dinos.

Not sure which building they are talking about now...

The old abandoned Woolies is on the corner of Smith street and Cavenagh street. The TIO building was further down Smith street. Right next door.

@Skeld: You know, my first thought on reading this thread was, "oh great, here we go again." My second thought was about the missionaries my church supports. Thanks for sharing with the rest of us what it is that real missionaries actually do.

@Heathy: Do you know "How Firm a Foundation?"

Adeste fideles,
Laeti triumphantes;
Venite, venite in Bethlehem;
Natum videte,
Regem Angelorum:

Refrain:
Venite adoremus,
Venite adoremus,
Venite adoremus Dominum!

2. Deum de Deo,
Lumen de lumine,
Gestant puellae viscera;
Deum verum,
Genitum, non factum:
Refrain

3. Cantet nunc hymnos
Chorus angelorum,
Cantet nunc aula caelestium:
Gloria, gloria,
In excelsis Deo!
Refrain

4. Ergo qui natus
Die hodierna,
Jesu tibi sit gloria;
Patris aeterni
Verbum caro factum!

Vidi aquam egredientem de templo,
a latere dextro, alleluia:
et omnes, ad quos pervenit aqua ista,
salvi facti sunt, et dicent, alleluia, alleluia.

V. Confitemini Domino quoniam bonus:
R. Quoniam in saeculum misericordia eius.

V. Gloria Patri, et Filio, et Spiritui Sancto:
R. Sicut erat in principio, et nunc, et semper,
et in saecula sæculorum. Amen.

Ave verum Corpus natum
de Maria Virgine:
Vere passum, immolatum
in Cruce pro homine.

Cuius latus perforatum
fluxit aqua et sanguine:
Esto nobis praegustatum
mortis in examine.

O Iesu dulcis!
O Iesu pie!
O Iesu fili Mariae.

Wouldn't know.

Liberty's Edge

As you look through my window
Deep into my room
At the tapestries all faded
Their vague and distant glories
Concealed in the gloom
The icy fingers of forgotten passions
Softly brushing my lips
At the tips of my primitive soul

As you look through my door
Deep into my room
Can you feel the mighty wall of power
It's waiting waiting in the gloom
The distant shadows of forgotten champions
Those who live in me still
And will rise when we challenge and kill

Born again
You'll be born again

Look at this prince of evil
Fighting for your mind
Fighting all priests of shame
For the thrust of my challenge is aimed
At the hearts of mutant gods
Who think we're all the same
They're controlling our minds
And they use us for fortune and fame

As you look through my window
Deep into my room
At your future and freedom
The grey and plastic retards all floating in circles
And as you taste the fruits of new sensations
Softly brushing your lips
As we rise when we challenge and kill

Born again
You'll be born again

If you want to be a king for a day
Just do what I say

Everybody's got to think like a hunter
Just search for your pray

Be alive through the night and the day
Just do it my way

The Exchange

Naw I did it right the first time.

Of course I then changed my mind.

then I changed it back, after the metaphysical b~&%$ slap.

Sabbath rocks!

Born Again is such an underrated album.

Liberty's Edge

They shoulda played teh super bowl.

Which line-up?

Liberty's Edge

Gillan/Iommi/Geezer/Appice.

Liberty's Edge

Dio's kinda sick, and Ozzy's kinda burnt.

Liberty's Edge

Just checked google. Appice's still alive.

He's most definitely alive. Saw him last year along with Dio/Butler/Iommi on the Heaven & Hell tour.

But for Born Again, while it may say Gillan/Iommi/Butler/Ward, it really was Gillan/Iommi/Butler/Bevan.

I have a bootleg of that tour somewhere in the house ... it was weird hearing Black Sabbath doing Smoke On The Water.

When Ian Gillan did his stint with Black Sabbath, they actually played the song in their live set.

No Easy Way

Liberty's Edge

What a friend we have in Jesus,
All our sins and griefs to bear!
What a privilege to carry
Everything to God in prayer!
Oh, what peace we often forfeit,
Oh, what needless pain we bear,
All because we do not carry
Everything to God in prayer!
Have we trials and temptations?
Is there trouble anywhere?
We should never be discouraged—
Take it to the Lord in prayer.
Can we find a friend so faithful,
Who will all our sorrows share?
Jesus knows our every weakness;
Take it to the Lord in prayer.
Are we weak and heavy-laden,
Cumbered with a load of care?
Precious Savior, still our refuge—
Take it to the Lord in prayer.
Do thy friends despise, forsake thee?
Take it to the Lord in prayer!
In His arms He’ll take and shield thee,
Thou wilt find a solace there.
Blessed Savior, Thou hast promised
Thou wilt all our burdens bear;
May we ever, Lord, be bringing
All to Thee in earnest prayer.
Soon in glory bright, unclouded,
There will be no need for prayer—
Rapture, praise, and endless worship
Will be our sweet portion there.
