In a desperate attempt to save Arlo, calinder calls upon Sarenraes power and a light forms in his outstretched hand. He brings it down to the wound which is suffused by a golden glow.

spontaneously cast cure light wounds on Arlo, using up detect evil. Unfortunately I don't have anything that combats poison. Also another heal check if that may help. 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 1 = 61d20 + 3 ⇒ (11) + 3 = 14

Gorum's blade! That burns.

Your healing magic brings Arlo to conciousnes, but he whimpers deliriously as he is still dying, but your heal check is enough to let you help him. (+2 aid to save)

So now Arlo saves: 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (20) - 1 = 19 vs DC 15

Nice! Arlo overcomes the poison

The poor cook screams and falls uncosious again, but Calinder can tell that his help and his faith have prevailed over the poison, and he won't have to go tomorrow and tell Arlo's wife she's a widow.

Urza's Draconic Blood is too much for the measly fire snake poison.

Urza, Lecian, you go

Male Human Diviner Wizard 6

Lecian reloads and fires at the red snake.

Damage: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (4) + 5 = 9

Sorry, I didn't realize it was on me

Urza casts another Color Spray, giving another warning to his allies.

Lecian's bolt gets firmly stuck on the wall and Urza steps away, casting.

Snake: Save FORT DC 14 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (11) + 5 = 16

snake is still on, Lecian's action is remaining

Male Human Diviner Wizard 6

Lecian loads his crossbow, then grabs a tiny, round wooden object from his pouch and utters an arcane word.

Cast True Strike.

Calinder still seems to be helping the cook. Lecian´s bolt glows with deadly precision and the snake slithers after Urza, trying to bite his ankle

The reptile sinks again its fangs on the sorcerer.

"Somebody get that hellspawned snake before it eats me alive."

Sorry Pol, I was waiting till you said I was up as I thought Calinder was still occupied saving Arlo. So assuming that jobs done then

Breathing a sigh of relief at Arlos recovery in the nick of time Calinder draws his scimitar and moves close to the writhing snake. Arrows aren't going to cut it friends, we need to seperate it's head from it's body, Calinder says as he twirls and swipes gracefully with his Sword while his Qadiran robes billow akin to the desert dervishes.

1d20 + 5 ⇒ (13) + 5 = 181d6 + 3 ⇒ (1) + 3 = 4

Cal's slash is precise but only manages to cut the resilient ophidian. Urza, Lecian, your move

Urza decides to try color spray once more. He wonders if this snake is blind.

Male Human Diviner Wizard 6

Lecian fires again and reloads.

Attack: 1d20 + 25 ⇒ (13) + 25 = 38
Damage: 1d8 ⇒ 7

Snake save: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (12) + 2 = 14
Urza's spell fails to overcome the fiendish snake, but lecian's bolt nails it trhough the head killing it before it can strike again

Urza, second save Fort DC13 vs poison. And combat is over, do the other 4 until you save, remember you can lose CON (you have -1 now)

Urza is shocked that a snake could have very possibly taken him out. He decides that he must become better with his birthright to insure that something like this does not happen again.
He asks for the snakes fangs. He plans to make them into a necklace.

Male Human Diviner Wizard 6

Lecian hurries and finds the other snake, that Urza knocked unconscious with his spell, and stomps on its head, executing it. "Urza, are you sure you're alright? You see what happened to Arlo!"

Sorcerer (Draconic) 6 Dragon Disciple 1; AC 15 (19), FF 13 (17) T 12; HP 62/62;Perception +6; Spells Lvl 3: 3/4; Lvl 2: 5/6; Lvl 1: 7/7; Cantrip: at will

"No, I'm not alright. That snake almost took me out. Then I was so distracted by my near death experience that I totally forgot about the other snake. I'm gonna go drown my sorrows and lie down."

Urza, sit here, let me check your wounds, Calinder says as he starts to check the snake bite. With the goddesses help we can fix this.

Calinder converts bless over to cure light wounds and uses it in the same way he helped Arlo. Also heal check 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (1) + 3 = 4

Cal cures Urza of the damage taken, but his clumsy attempt at healing him is more painful than useful. Still the big sorcerer is at no immediate risk and should be fine with a good rest.

Vancaskerkin enters the kitchen huffing from the run.

Boys! Boys! I hear you had trouble. Are you all right?

Mr Vancaskerkin, Calinder sighs in relief, having finished proding Urza despite his winces. It's good to see this wasn't a general attack but I believe these two snakes here were set upon our staff deliberately. Fortunately by the grace of Sarenrae both Arlo and Urza have suffered no permanent injury however I'm sure these snakes wouldn't have found there way in here by themselves.

Firesnakes! And do you have any idea who could have done this!?

Sorcerer (Draconic) 6 Dragon Disciple 1; AC 15 (19), FF 13 (17) T 12; HP 62/62;Perception +6; Spells Lvl 3: 3/4; Lvl 2: 5/6; Lvl 1: 7/7; Cantrip: at will

"Clegg Zincher. Or at least someone with his organization. He's smart, he used himself as a distraction. We were all focused on him and one of his guys planted the lethal snakes in here. I get the feeling that it might get kinda rough around here in time."

Male Human Diviner Wizard 6

"Maybe there's a clue left behind. Calinder, will you help me search?"

If Calinder agrees, Lecian casts Diviner's Fortune on Calinder, then aids in searching for any clues.

assisted Perception: 1d20 - 2 ⇒ (12) - 2 = 10

Good idea Lecian, Calinder says as he starts combing the area looking for clues. perception1d20 + 5 + 2 ⇒ (6) + 5 + 2 = 13 don't know the mod for diviners fortune so you'll have to add it manually

Sorcerer (Draconic) 6 Dragon Disciple 1; AC 15 (19), FF 13 (17) T 12; HP 62/62;Perception +6; Spells Lvl 3: 3/4; Lvl 2: 5/6; Lvl 1: 7/7; Cantrip: at will

Wizard's fortune gives a bonus of half your wizard level with a minimum of 1. S the bonus is 1.

While Urza explains the finer points of searching and nurses his wound, still a sore red inflamed bite. Calinder and Lecian look around the barrels. They find some broken pottery.

Apparently someone left a jar with the snakes on top of the barrels, and the unfortunate Arlo just happened to open it to peer inside.

For now, the small crisis seems to be averted.

Each of you earn 150 xp for dealing with the snakes. Tell me if you have any actions you want to do for the rest of the weekend (I think it was friday night in the game). If not, we can proceed to sunday and count any earnings and see how the Golden Goblin did on the eventful opening week.

Unless Calinders daily investigations into the Golden Goblin turn up anything then Im happy to move to Sunday

Male Human Diviner Wizard 6

Lecian's gonna chill this weekend.

Dotted....

Sorcerer (Draconic) 6 Dragon Disciple 1; AC 15 (19), FF 13 (17) T 12; HP 62/62;Perception +6; Spells Lvl 3: 3/4; Lvl 2: 5/6; Lvl 1: 7/7; Cantrip: at will

No special plans for the weekend unless Liry wants to do something.

What is our xp total?

So.... lets review the week....
First, besides the 150xp for the snakes, I forgot to award you 100xp each for the drunken sailors situation

RUNNING THE GOBLIN
Calinder did a superb job hiring staff: +1
Lecian came up with themes and games: +1
Calinder botched the recieving people part: -1
Urza was an excelent bouncer: +1
Current profitability rating: -1
-------------------
Saul's weekly check: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (17) + 11 = 28 Vs DC 20

Urza, to do "something" with Liry, you'd have to roll a DC15 diplomacy check and she's all over you. You have a +2 circumstance bonus if you show her where the big bad snake bit you, you brave guy.

On sunday you see saul grinning from ear to ear. The small man seems happy.
Boys! The business is doing great. And I have you to thank for it. Here's your weekly pay, and a bonus.
Saul handles you each a small pouch with 100sp, as you weekly salary and then 5gp bonus

The Goblin's profitability rating is now +1, you each get 200xp for helping Saul turn a profit for a change.

Ah, another thing... I'd like you to introduce you to 2 new partners. After what that viper Zincher did friday night, I've hired this lady here as some extra muscle. Beware, Miss Nalia is not only a good sword hand, she's smart and pretty too. Speaking of pretty, let me also introduce you to the beautiful and skilled Ushari. She will be singing here Thursdays, Fridays and Saturday nights. Go on honey, show the staff how good you are.

Ushari, please roll a Perform(singing) check. New players, you are now introduced, welcome to the game.

A neew week is beginning. Finally the sun shines through the clouds, even the strange blot doesn't look so ominous. It's time for the group to spend their hard earned cash, go around their business on the city, plan any ways to help this week on the Goblin (and make the appropiate roll).

Calinder will continue hiring if thats Vancaskerkins request as well as spruking/concierge duties unless one of the new comers feel more competent in that roll and then Cal will assist.

1d20 + 5 ⇒ (8) + 5 = 131d20 + 5 ⇒ (8) + 5 = 13

He'll also keep up his demon hunting through the house and trying to discover any of its secrets.

I'll get back to you on any items he's seeking with all his new cash.

Nalia leans up against the bar and eases her heavy backpack off and down onto the floor. She shakes her head a little as Saul introduces her, clearly amused by some of the descriptions. After the introduction, she asks politely, while pointing down to her bag.

"Anyplace I can put this stuff?"

Sorcerer (Draconic) 6 Dragon Disciple 1; AC 15 (19), FF 13 (17) T 12; HP 62/62;Perception +6; Spells Lvl 3: 3/4; Lvl 2: 5/6; Lvl 1: 7/7; Cantrip: at will

Urza greets the newcomers, shaking each of their hands. "Welcome aboard. The Golden Goblin is an exciting place to work and play."
Then to business. "Saul, I'd like to see if we can't beef up security some. Get some eyes on the outside that could warn us of any potential issues before it comes inside. It shouldn't cost much, a gold or two at most. I ask you because you have the most knowledge of the area."

Security detail 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (14) + 9 = 23

Dating Liry 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (11) + 5 = 16

Dotting...

Ushari looks around the Golden Goblin, her new home for a long time, she hoped anyway. this place looks like a lot of fun!

Then they asked her to sing, and she got that familiar knot in her throat whenever performing.

She stepped up to the stage, and then decides to start out with an easy sailor's tune, popular at the local docks.

Perform check Singing 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (12) + 3 = 15

Male Human Diviner Wizard 6

Lecian continues his research on planning casino events, as well as research on the Blot.

Casino: Knowledge (Local): 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (17) + 9 = 26
Blot: Knowledge (Arcana): 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (9) + 9 = 18

Calinder wanders in just as Ushari finishes her song. My what a lovely singing voice you have Ushari. I'm pleased to meet you both, in fact it looks as though Nalia here is going to be a welcome relief for Urza in matters of security. By the way I'm Calinder Iranescu, I try to make our customers feel more at home, he says while graciously bowing to each in turn.

Ushari blushes slightly as the courtly half elf bows to her.

"Really you don't need to bow like that, I'm not royalty!", stifling a giggle. "Thanks for liking my song, I really don't have a good voice for that kind of drinking song."

Nails looks Urza over while shaking his hand, before examining the rest of the group in the Golden Goblin. "Pleasure to be here, as long as the pays good at least. So, where is it you need security? I'm guess I'll be at the door, checking people before they come in."

Thats a good start. We've just recently had what we believe is an attack on our establishment. Two venomous snakes were discovered in a jar located in our storeroom. So it seems to me we also need to be mindfull of deliveries and all entrances into the Golden Goblin. Perhaps some kind of regular patrol or some such may be in order.

Calinder will institute a system of records to keep track of items delivered. ie inventory, who delivered, when etc. That way we can trace back any similar methods.

"Do we expect more attacks on this place? I'd assume given the state of the city that there's no shortage of crooks out there with a will and the means to do so, but if we know someone's doing something for certain, then we can get better prepared for it."

Nails leaves her bag down by the bar, before getting a proper look around the Golden Goblin, looking for any weak entry points. "If someone could come with me, to see what I missed, that'd be appreciated!"

"Sure thing Nalia, I will go with you."
