I've been working up a storm on my homebrew, and here's the latest. Let me know what you think.

Its an interesting concept but to really evaluate it power wise I would have to look at the spells split up by the schools of the stones, which I am not going to do right now. Other then that here are a few observations:

I think you need a better progression of spells per day then 'by spirit stone'. Untill 4th level the class can only cast a single first level spell per day. At 4th level it goes to 2 2nd level spells and 10 1st level spells. That is not a balanced progression. Getting a new stone is way too much of a jump in casting per day. It should grow more over the levels between stones. And that level 1-3 problem needs to be addressed.

Also you say "the spirit stones allow the animist to cast orisons" does that mean they behave like normal orisons and are at will? Or are these also restricted by the stones 6 per day?

Minor nitpick: Your table does not match the description of elemental bond. By the wording it should be 1, 7, 13, and 19. In the chart its 1, 6, 12, and 18.

In elemental resistance, is this a bonus to saves? Or is it energy resistance? Is it meant to be an untyped bonus? Or is it a resistance bonus (if it is towards saves).
