Are you gonna post for Max and I kyrt or am I waiting for Max? Just wondering, my other PbP's are kinda in a lull.

Sorry for the pressure, but the more we discuss things here, the better the game can be. It's all about maintaining discourse among players and GM.

Weapon Focus longbow is a fairly sweet feat. If you take it at level 3 thats a +1 accuracy, and then a +2 damage once you hit level 4, so it's probably a better choice at the moment than Deadly Aim (ranged power attack) But I suspect that it's a rock solid feat for your 5th level, especially since by then you'll have picked up the option (and it is an option, you get to choose how much to sacrifice) to drop 2 points of accuracy for +4 damage.

That sounds good!

Happy to help my friend. Also, I remember your frustration with some non-core first level ranger spells, so I did a little digging around and found one I thought you might like.

Spoiler:

Woodwisp Arrow
Transmutation
Level: Assassin 1, druid 1, justice of weald and woe 1, ranger 1
Components: V, S, M
Casting Time: 1 swift action
Range: Touch
Target: One masterwork projectile
Duration: 1 round/level (D)
Saving Throw: None
Spell Resistance: No
This spell is cast upon a masterwork arrow or bolt, enabling the
missile to pass through any non-magical material (though most commonly wood/trees) as though it was air, negating any cover benefit the target might enjoy because of doors, tables, or stockade walls, or negating the AC modifier of a non-magical shield/armor. The spell doesn’t grant the spellcaster the ability to see through wooden obstructions, so unless a clairvoyance spell or similar magic is already in effect, the target is treated as having concealment instead of cover. The projectile is destroyed even if it misses its target.

Somewhat situational, but pretty nice to have in some situations, just throwing it out for your consideration.

I was going to wait for Max, but I might come up with something to shake things up a bit. Also, good choice on the Favored Terrain, matches your origins and assuming you survive that far (MWAHAHAHA) Should come in really handy in the black woods. (Also, I could be wrong here, since this new computer doesn't have the proper software for me to open my old files yet, but I don't think 'temperate forest' is an option, I thought it was Forest/Jungle in general isn't it?)

Regardless, good luck.

Also, I'm glad to hear you're struggling with the choice between the animal companion and the other option.

That was a really hard endeavor to balance, in PF the animal companion really is the only viable choice.

The lands near Xalanthos have a grim gritty feel to them so far, even shining Tre'Age is surrounded by a legion of absolute poverty. I like it.

Aydan has decided to bring a new freedom to the north! (I'm just kinda getting harsh north vibe.) And with it he'll build a CG nation where the poor have slightly more rights, and slavery is illegal!

Too ambitious, maybe, but I'll try and start small!

Your partly right :)

Xalanthos, land of Fire, is the southern of the 4 kingdoms, while Tre'Age is in the far north of said kingdom, at the point the boarders meet, legally part of Xalanthos but technically independent of all nations.

Nice! Looking forward to getting into the four kingdoms a little more.

vagrant-poet wrote:

I suspect you shall.

Infact, since it all came to me, I may as well lay out the basic landscape.

There are 4 lands, the land of Fire to the south, the land of Water to the north, the land of Earth to the west, and the land of Wind to the east.

Each of these 4 kingdoms is controlled by a chromatic dragon overlord, Red to the south, White to the north, Black to the west, and blue to the east.

There is a small spine of mountains that extend north, south, east, and west, pointing into the hearts of each of the kingdoms, and in the center, in the hill country between those mountains, lays Tre`age, the golden center.

This part of the world is a fairly large island continent, perhaps about the size of Austrailia or Europe, and pretty much isolated from the rest of the world.

HA, Good stuff. I was just thinking today about the Arcane Archer's phase arrow ability. I believe you read my mind. That is a very nice spell for being a tad situational.

Oh yeah. Now I'm gonna have to kill 4 dragons! Oye, that's a lot of work.

Just because they're all evil doesn't mean they are all bad rulers lol.

Wonder where my mountain is. Will work on a next day post, in the interest of gaining hp. Haha. Occurred to me that I only had one day's rest. I'll have to find a way to stock up, before even thinking of heading out.

Excellent. Well the gathering of political and personal power begins now then. Cometh the rebellion, and Tre'Age seems the perfect place to start!

Anyone else think they'll be interested in joining the movement if/when we meet up? :D

I know Gorgrom opposses the Red Tyrant!

Wow, I hope you never get married, women tend to go turn into were-Red Tyrants monthly.

Haha, I am married. It's not so bad once you've been with somebody long enough.

Hey the guy from the other thread you ask if he wanted to join said sure. Just to let you know.

I should really be posting something, but dragon age is too much fun. Gah. Feel free to grab the reins of my char, if ever you're inspired to do so kyrt, I'll post....tomorrow. I think. Or when I can pull my eyes out of dragon age long enough to think of a post. Or something. Heck, I could even do it now, if I don't fall asleep.

Hey kyrt, I linked the thread for Michael. We'll see what he wants to play.

Damn pity Cavalier hadn't been released when we'd started this game! I think I'm in love.

Kyrt, did you alter Leadership, or is it as it is in regular PFRPG?

Yeah, I believe cavalier could have been a pretty nice fit here. I like the concept of the oracle also, but am not sure until I get to play one.

Hey kyrt, I'd like to have Aydan get involved in the politics of Tre'age, and maybe take control of or start his own faction, will I get XP for non-combat experiences? And is that a bit beyond the scope of the game?

If not, could you introduce me to some of the existing factions in Tre'age, and start giving me NPCs to work with and interact with, as I feel like that very social direction is what Aydan would take, though do please throw in some combat and action, just like a dungeon crawl shouldn't be all battles, I don't want my political agenda to be only talking to NPCs, I want to have to take out dangerous rivals, and either rule or subdue the crime world, etc.

Again, if thats okay?

OOO OOO! Gorgrom would like to apply for the position of resident sniper. My falchion is quite deadly also.

You okay Kyrt? You've been MIA for a lil bit. Maybe I'm just used to seeing you on here more often.

First off, I already had a few ideas like that in mind V-P, though the tower may have something to say about that ;) (remember this is a moderately high level world, you guys are fresh scrubs. Infact I'm anticipating leveling you guys sometime soon.)

And Gorgrom, it's going to be a while before you make it, but I'm sure Aydan could use a sniper to deal with... *ahem* political opposition ;) (though you may pick up an alignment change from that lol, depending on how you handle it, your perspective, motive, etc.)

All in all, should be alot of fun.

Sorry I disappeared for a few days guys, grandma had a heart attack, dad got drunk and was going to blow some people up and stole a shotgun, yeah, it's been hell.

But, I am back (And with a PF Beastiary to boot!)

Glad to have you back at least. The Beastiary is nice too.

Stupid post crossed threads!

Imeant to say!

Jeez man, that's harsh.

Take another few days if you want, or if it helps we'll get cracking. Tower? Is that leadership? [I wasn't expecting it to be easy, or even too quick, I want a small little faction, and to then grow in influence, its a pity the faction guide isn't out til next april/march!]

Tower makes me think Tar Valon and the Aes Sedai, so it nicely cements Tre'Age's marbled beautiful city of knowledge image!

On second thought though, I'm really not losing any goats! :D

Brilliant deduction my friend, that was part of the inspiration for this organization and city.

Also, I have no intention of taking further time off, I'm working on my replies as we speak, the faster we can post the better.

(As I've said before I come from a play by post climate where posts are exchanged every 15-20 minutes and stories evolve at quick paces, I love the thrill as the game expands. It's also part of the reason I've kept the lot of you apart, so we aren't as dependent on people's schedule issues.)

Me too in a way, I used to participate in a WoT online roleplaying site, never found its match after it shut down, still friends with some of the people from it in fact. So yeah, if you engage Aydan, I'll be sure to be fairly regular in posting, in college I can use the internet usually once every hour or two! And certainly in the evenings!

Sweet!

I'll get right on Aydan's post (and then I need to post for the poor forgotten elven evoker lol)

great news!!!

You've got your reply Aydan.

Yup, things are moving smoothly, I'm guessing your working on a fairly long exploration post or whatever, just get it up when it's done.

Haha, haven't noticed the game picked up again. time for Baldoin to move his ass.

Baldoin Balagtas wrote:

I was wondering when you were comin back. :)

Took a while for Baldoin to move his ass. But now he is! As much as I want to leave the house, I feel the need for some temporary closure with the kid pyro. Hmm. Any thoughts on that?

Baldoin Balagtas wrote:

I usually do my best to reserve my thoughts for the moment I'm replying to the situation lol, but I did skim down and glance at your OOC comment.

Of course your welcome to use the toned down version in your home games. I've got an attachment for monks, anime, and wuxia that I'm sure inspired some pretty cool stuff.

(Honestly I'd argue that in an all caster party my monk would play as written just fine, the only problem would be if there were a Fighter or Ranger or such to overshadow. He'd probably do about right, maybe slightly outperform a Paladin, particularly in an anti-evil campaign.)

Haha, sure. I've got the same attachment for monks, though the numbers scare my people. They don't really have the same experience in spell selection that makes casters scary.

Baldoin Balagtas wrote:

Oh, right, the damage. Yeah I did scale the damage up a fair chunk, dropping it back down to base should do it.

Hey guys, I know I mentioned this in the main thread but felt I should post in here as well.

My grandma's going in for heart surgery today, so keep her in your prayers (if you do that). I'm starting work on all your replies as we speak.

(Starting with the Half-Orc and his buddy since I saw him posting a few minutes ago)

I do that, so sure.

the good news, she's home and doing well.

AND I've begun posting! (Working on Aydan and Loren as we speak, next up is Baldoin, and then I'll RP the Friar and the thing attacking them if he hasn't posted by then.)

Grats on the good news Kyrt. Oh, and I ended up doing a toned-down ranger as well. Gah. I'm being dragged down to homebrewing again. Any thoughts on how to do the barbarian?
