Hey guys, it's me. I finally quit procrastinating and am getting this thread set up for discussion of the game out of character (and for discussing other things as a group, should you guys have something you want to talk about.)
Anyways, I'm going to go to bed in a while, unless one of you mugs manages to get a post up before I do. Here's hoping there's at least one waiting for me in the morning if you don't lol.

Alright guys, I've been vetting your bios (the two of you that are around presently) and there are a few things that need smoothing out. (I confess part of this is my own failure to complete the web-compilation as of yet)
Baldoin:
Your unarmed strikes should have 1 more attack bonus and both unarmed and nunchaku would have one more damage.
(A monk's unarmed strikes literally are masterworked, and masterworked adds +1 attack AND damage.)
I don't see your HP listed anywhere. You can either take 34, or add 22 to (4d4+2) rolled here if you choose.
That would be it for you Baldoin, you did pretty well with it.
Gorgrom:
The damage for your weapons is off as well. You need to add +1 to all of them for being masterworked, and you need to remember that in my game a masterworked bow automatically uses the user's full strength.
Also, as I mentioned in the file, the Ranger class gets spontaneous casting of all core ranger (and SRD assassin) spells, and 1 non-core spell of their choice per character level. (in other words your one spell of the day could be entangle, or one of a dozen other possibilities)
Since your rolling with an Archery Ranger, two decent suggestions for non-core spells might be Hunter's Mercy and ArrowMind. I believe both have been put in the spell compendium. If you don't have access to it and want to know what they do let me know.
Other than that, everything looks good guys, I'm working on the post as we speak.

I HATE the post monster T.T I had your post done last night Gorgrom, and it was awesome, but I was so tired after I hit send I shut the screen off and went to bed and didn't notice the post monster got it :(
Anyways, I'm working on it again for you.
Also, nice twist Baldoin, not exactly what I was expecting, but thats kind of the idea. Looking good so far :D

kyrt-ryder wrote:lol, I noticed once I posted, hence the deletion. I am currently working on a new post but I think I may wait to see what you have in store.pst, that was a misspost of mine lmao.
Anyways, I'm working on your post Gorgrom, again. I hope to have it done soon.
That, my frend, you indeed would do well to do. However given my recent epic failure at reliable posting, I have a suggestion. Give me one hour. If I haven't posted by then, feel free to start working on a post of your own. That way I won't slow you down without adding to the game.

Our first combat has BEGUN! (though on poor footing, considering my crappy timing :( )
For the record, Defense wins a tie (Saving throws only have to hit the DC to succeed, attack rolls have to go OVER the target AC)
The reason Gorgrom got hit was flatfootedness.
(Speaking of which, for sake of ease, when it's one on one like this, it'll just go in turns for now. AKA your up Gorgrom)

Just in case you haven't noticed, I've replied Gorgrom.
And don't get yer nickers in a twist Monk boy, I'll be done with your reply soon lol.

Fun battle you have with Gorgrom, haha. I was almost tempted to stumble across mid-battle.
Anyway. I might be out of contact from this friday till monday, I'm not exactly sure which ones of those four days, since we're going out of the country. That's about it for now.
Thanks for the heads up. Sorry I got wrapped up in that fight and failed to post for you lol, this dang forum is so hard to focus in, so many things begging to be read and responded to. I need to focus on my responsibilities as GM.

kyrt-ryder |
Well, the fights done and you can take a break from trying to kill me if you desire ;) I will probably post again today.
Yeah, I saw. For the record, technically your ferocity kicks in, but because you aren't far enough down in negutives to pass out yet (just get hindered), your ferocity ends at the end of the round and you can go ahead and use the wand.
(Which heals 2d8+1 now, if offensive magic goes up then so does healing magic lol) The hillarious part, is that your roll hit the average for that. (Though I have to ask, why did you add 3? It's a wand of level 1 cure light wounds, or at least that's what I priced it for.)

Yeah I wasn't sure if the caster level was different then the spell level, makes sense now, sorry. I'll fix that and take average + 1.

Gorgrom the Relentless |

Btw, just curious, mind giving me a critique of the fight? First time I've ever handled a D&D style fight via play by post, I'm wondering how it felt.
No complaints here, I think it was awesome. I may not be the best critic, seeing as this is my first real PbP D&D battle also, LOL. I definitely could picture it all in my head though.

I was laughing before because you ended up with the average total HP from your roll. 2d8 averages 9, and then +1 equals 10.

You were supposed to have a fair chance of beating him (and I got to put a bit of my revisions to the test. I like how it plays)

No need to apologize for taking liberties Gamender, I told you guys from the beginning that liberties were yours to take unless I had specified otherwise. I may tweak a few things or or there, and things may end up being entirely something other than what they appeared to be, but that's just part of the fun.
(The irony is I was about half done with your old post, but the new one hit me with a strong flash of inspiration, if I don't have your reply up within 1 hour of the time I submit this message the party goes up a free level lol)
And yes, I laughed at your little dig in the Italics lol.

kyrt-ryder |
I am dying!! And according to my clock thing here, it's 2am there. Shouldn't you be sleeping? Haha. Here's hoping I...not die. Here's what I get for not bringing any healing whatsoever. hahaha.
Lol, yeah, I'd neglected to mention it, but you healed off 4 points of that nonlethal damage on the walk through the forest. The awesome yet freaky part, is you've got 1, count it, 1 hp left before knockout lol.

Haha. I have my fingers crossed. Maybe Alika has healing potions or a deus ex machina handy.. If I survive, I am definitely stocking up on healing.

You got LUCKY!!! She only just barely managed to roll high enough on that water bucket to set it up for the KO. (It had 30 HP. You two dished out exactly the remaining 15 in that last round lmao)
Note to self, don't expect the monk to ignore the little girl who's ability use is going to stun her for the rest of the combat lmao.

Hahaha, I had the wildest theory that knocking the girl out would end the encounter. And I didn't know she'd stun herself! Lol. Deus Ex Machina indeed.

Eh, I wouldn't really consider it that. She was just a mother protecting her child. She wasn't there to save your ass, she just ended up helping contribute.
(Also, I blame two other things. The Monk who knocked out the girl who stunned herself when those attacks could have went to the bad influence instead... and the monk natural 1'ing an EASY (DC 11) burning hands lmao)
Pst: Congrats on Virtually (would have truly if you had better priorities ;) lmao) Soloing a CR 3 encounter. I didn't include the stat ups on the thing, but then the girl tossed out a CL 2 (at CL 1, the feat that let her do it was stunning her afterwards) blast that hit you hard, so I call it a wash. Great job :)

kyrt-ryder |
There was a feat for that? haha. Well ass thankfully saved nonetheless. And I guess next time, I shouldn't try to kick fire. Or fall off a tree. Well, I lived and learned.
Yes there was. It's called reserves of strength, one of our casters might take it, though it's mostly good for low levels and puts the user in alot of danger.
Btw, your lucky the girl's mom is a healer, big bonus on a pretty poor roll on her treat deadly wounds check.

Haha. Well, I find the kiss more surprising than the bucket of water. Funny because I only took out a blurb that Alika's husband was an hour away in a trading post during the initial conversation for space. Well, let's roll with that. And I shall thus snooze the entire day away, and take a short break before I decide what to do next. Man that was fun.

Glad you enjoyed it ^_^
And I'm also grateful you didn't incorporate her husband being around, a ton of ideas popped into my head with them.
(Yeah, that's a word of good advice for you, unless something big is in your head, only involve present details, that way I can fill stuff in as it comes to me as well)

kyrt-ryder |
I tied in a little to you guys in my post. If you see us going a different way kyrt I will not fight it.
I'm not completely sure, it'll play out as it does, I'm starting your reply now, since your around, and will follow with a reply to encourage him to start playing again lol. (My guess is circumstances yoinked him from the comp last night)
