"What about the elves? Reckon working on them would be easier?"

Malick rubs his own handsome neck in sympathy.

"One more thing, Corporal. If the Queen is destroyed, do you die too?"

It looks even harder to remove, also it looks like it is killing the elves but not the warforged.

"I don't know".

male human Resourceful Warlord/Commando Captain 13

"One way to find out. You're in charge Corporal. If any of these people attempt to leave before we get back, you hold them right here. Reckon those implants could do with some adjustment."

Sliding back through Rennick's barrier, Malick turns Typhus towards the hole.

"You want to blast something, blast the Queen. I don't like what I'm hearing about Blondie and I don't like this place, but I'm damned if some upstart beetle's going to creep up behind me and stuff an egg in my neck. Let's move in gentlemen and see what we can do about this."

Male Gnome Illusionist Wizard 13

"My sentiment as well, Malick."

"Do not touch me, Malick. I'll abide your attempts at wit, but if you touch me again without asking first, the water in your eyes will boil and your skin will slough off in sheets. Now, shall we finish this charade before your foolishness gets us all killed?"

Human Artificer/Battle Engineer 11

"Hey now, no reason to start threatening each other now, all right? How about we all just go down stairs and take our aggression out on some bugs?"

Ferdinand points to the stairwell with an unlit sunrod.

You see a large room, 30x30, with a couple of workbenches one to your left and another along the right wall.
in the far right corner is a large crystal vat containing a blueish-brown frog like creature. Multicolored tubes conect the thing in the jar to a big beetle like the one you faced outside.
The 4 smaller beetles are aligned in front of the vat in guard position.
Behind the big beetle are two wooden barn like doors.

"If the beetles get me, you're welcome to do all that Typhus along with any other fancy touches you think up in the meantime."

Utterly unperturbed, he looks down the stairwell.

"That frog is not Blondie unless she's having a very bad day."

Add +2 to init.

1d20 + 7 ⇒ (4) + 7 = 11
Put him in the second rank.

Init 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (7) + 9 = 16

Put Tyhpus besides Malick.

Mountain and Flint are usually front-ish. If you don't want to be up there, you don't have to be.

male human Resourceful Warlord/Commando Captain 13

Malick can take front rank, but he's better off in the middle for maximum shifting people aboutiness. Mountain is good up there, and I'll swap out with you if Flint doesn't want to be.

I thought one of them was upstairs making sure the warforged didn't wander off. Besides, all my buffs only effect people near me.

That was one of the other warforged - one of the ones that was paying attention to Malick. And I don't think there will be any trouble getting your buffs to work in this fight. This room is very small, so we'll all be close to you no matter what :)

Flint ya out there, figured ya might have fallen asleep during the RollPlay.

We might have lost Flint, I will roll for him until he shows up.

Assuming nothing changes too much from Mountain/Flint's actions...

Ferdinand steps forward and brings his tratnyr down on the bug next to Flint.

Does your tratnyr have reach? If not you can apply the damage to SB3 or SB4.

Apologies. I meant 4.

Electricity sparks between the small beetle’s mandibles as they begin their attack.

SB1 attacks Flint, 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (6) + 12 = 18 damage 1d8 + 8 ⇒ (5) + 8 = 13 lightning damage.

SB2 attacks Mountain, 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (3) + 12 = 15 damage 1d8 + 8 ⇒ (2) + 8 = 10 lightning damage.

SB3 and 4 attacks Ferdinand,
1d20 + 12 ⇒ (9) + 12 = 21 damage 1d8 + 8 ⇒ (6) + 8 = 14 lightning damage
1d20 + 12 ⇒ (2) + 12 = 14 damage 1d8 + 8 ⇒ (2) + 8 = 10 lightning damage.

All the small beetles miss their targets.

four rolls and nothing above a 9. >:(

Rennik is up.

Male Gnome Illusionist Wizard 13

Rennik delays until after Malick. Right now he has no line of sight to the bugs, and if he moves up to where he does, he will provoke attacks of opportunity if he attempts ranged or area attacks, but perhaps Malick will make room in the doorway :)

Typhus' bolt misses the beetle.

Malick is up.

male human Resourceful Warlord/Commando Captain 13

"Getting kind of snug in here, isn't it? Good thing we're all such good friends."

Malick ambles down the stairs and joins the party. The cramped conditions work against him ...

Move to F4, taking the OA from Bug 4.
Viper's Strike (AC) v Bug 4, with flank from Ferdiand. Effect - if Bug 4 shifts before the end of Malick's next turn, Ferdinand gets an OA on it.
1d20 + 18 ⇒ (2) + 18 = 20.

Malick steps forward and spears Sb4 with his halberd.

sorry about the slow posting, I'm comming down with a nasty cold and the cold meds knock me out.

Male Gnome Illusionist Wizard 13

Rennik moves to the doorway and conjures an illusion of gaping chasms that makes some of the bugs fearful of taking a single step.

Move to D2. Phantom Chasm on B7 (burst 1). Little bug 2 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (8) + 15 = 23 vs Will. Big bug 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (14) + 15 = 29 vs Will. 2d6 + 9 ⇒ (2, 3) + 9 = 14 psychic damage on a hit and they are prone and immobilized until the end of my next turn. On a hit they grant combat advantage to my next ally who attacks them. On a miss, they are just immobilized until the end of my next turn.

Mountain Uses Tide of Iron at SB2 in an attempt to push back sb2 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (14) + 13 = 27 pushing back SB2 a square causing 2d8 + 14 ⇒ (5, 2) + 14 = 21 damage blooding sb2.

That we did.

Ferdinand stabs his tratnyr down into the bug as the other's weapons begin to glow red hot.

Using Flaming Weapons on 4 (Allies within 2 squares deal 4 extra Fire damage, including myself. Allies weapons also count as Brutal 1. Actually using Fire damage for this attack.) 1d20 + 16 ⇒ (1) + 16 = 171d8 + 7 ⇒ (3) + 7 = 10

Also, Dungeoneering, would these bugs be resistant to Lightning? 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (15) + 12 = 27

Oops, sorry.
Ferdinand yes they have resit 5 lightning.

The cramped space effects Ferdinand's tratnyr strike but the magic unleashed enhances his allies weapons.

All allies attaces gain 4 fire damageand brutal 1 until ferdinand's next turn.

Typhus is up.

Typhus uses Frigid Darkness against #1: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (13) + 13 = 26 vs Fort; 2d8 + 8 ⇒ (4, 7) + 8 = 19 cold damage and target grants combat advantage to all allied until end of my next turn plus -1 penalty to AC. Range 10, target 1 creature.

OK, I'm back I hope without interruption. I had a baby the same day I bought a new house, moved in when she was 5 days old. We will have internet installed tomorrow, so don't have to steal my neighbors wireless, very inconsistent and slow. Sorry for the lack of forewarning, the baby came early. Rosey, thanks for updating this group, I'm now going to check in on your game and see if I've been replaced yet, thanks and sorry all.

Shift to D2.

Enemies Abound burst 1 centered on D4 (Ferdinand's square). Only effects enemies. B1 1d20 + 16 ⇒ (3) + 16 = 19, B3 1d20 + 16 ⇒ (14) + 16 = 30, B4 1d20 + 16 ⇒ (3) + 16 = 19 vs Will. 2d8 + 9 ⇒ (3, 7) + 9 = 19 psychic damage on a hit, and on a hit, we can treat the target as an ally for the purposes of flanking until the end of my next turn. Any of them that are hit also grant combat advantage to the next ally who attacks them.

male human Resourceful Warlord/Commando Captain 13

I didn't add in the extra +4 fire damage to Malick's attack. Forgot, because I'm an idiot.

Male Gnome Illusionist Wizard 13

In advance, if any of my attack rolls missed (two of them were quite low), I use my orb of deception to make the attack hit B2 instead, with an attack roll of 1d20 + 22 ⇒ (12) + 22 = 34 vs Will. (Includes combat advantage per the Phantom Echoes feat.) If all three hit, though, then disregard this post.

Rennik’s illusion sends the beetles into panic as they try to defend against foes that aren’t there. SB2 is bloodied by the attack.
