I want to thank everyone for continuing in my stead. I had the best of intentions when I started the campaign but the new baby and filing for bankruptcy ended up being a bit more responsibility and drain than I imagined. I loved gaming with all of you and wish I'd been able to continue...or at least bow out with dignity instead of leaving you all high and dry.

Monk has some other possibilities. I've found concentrating on combat maneuvers to be fun as a way to be a spellcaster neutralizer. Use your speed and acrobatics to get to him through his front lines, then grapple and pin him. I have a monk in one campaign where I found that handy. You can do most of the rogueish stuff except for traps, and have good perception with your high wisdom. Monks are...characters where you can make your niche, but it's not necessarily simple. :)
The one thing I think really screws monks is that their speed and maneuverability works against their ability to use their flurry of blows. Flurry of blows should be able to be used as a standard action for two attacks - that would help them out a lot.

            Hey Warforged!
Are you back? If Sneaky doesn't come back we may need a new Rogue. or you could try your hand at an Arcanist?
Really? You know I've always wanted to play this campaign and if it wouldn't bother anyone, I think I owe the group at least that much. The group needs a rogue or an arcanist?

I think over the long haul an arcanist would be more useful.
All right, then. I'm putting together a 2nd-level half-orc wizard right now, then.
Camris--any changes to the character creation rules I should know? Do I have a set amount of gold for a second-level character or just the usual wealth-by-level?

The gold you have is for a 2nd level character right out of the Pathfinder core rulebook (1000gp) plus whatever Lavinia gave to hire you all as retainers.
Looks good to me Warforged!

That was one of the nastier effects; but as I mentioned in the main thread, it was more due to Spinnaker Jon's Character Flaw that turned a failed concentration check into a critical fumble.
In the normal course of a game it would very seldom come up; since you don't have to roll a Concentration check unless you are under some kind of pressure from combat or other interfereance.
And I'm sure Lavinia knows a guy who could help with the blowback effect...:)

We'll say you were looking for Penkus as a bounty for a loan shark, followed the trail down here and got trapped by the undead.
You are currently very hungry, and weakened by thirst.
Your condition is Fatigued and can only speak in a whisper until you get some water and a few minutes.
You heard some commotion in the distance, but only just realized you weren't trapped by undead; but you are still stuck behind the eastern double doors in the dining room.
Break DC 22.

Sneaky's been absent for quite a while now - Last post I see from him is March 19 - almost two months ago - and he had another break of about a month with no posting. I've visited threads he is active in and asked him if he was available, but he hasn't posted here. So...do we want to recruit? It would even be kinda cool to replace him if we find another rogue, becuase Sneaky could simply get his memory back!
Anyway, just a thought.

When you all take the time to count and identify everything you find the treasure to be:
10,551 cp
2,414 sp
1,000 gp
About a hundred low quality gems [Blue quartz, Hematites, Tigereyes and Turquoise] roughly valued at 10 gp each.
Penkus' gold ring, roughly valued at 120 gp.
Penkus' masterwork studded leather armor [decontaminated], valued at 175 gp.
Penkus' masterwork alchemical silver dagger, valued at 322 gp.
Six of the potions are yellow and translucent. These are Potions of Cure Light Wounds. Valued at 50 gp each.
Two of the potions are blue and fizzy. Potions of Lesser Restoration. Valued at 50 gp each.
Two of the potions are clear. Potions of Invisibility. Valued at 300 gp each.
Two of the potions are mostly brown with thin green and red layers to it. Potions of Barkskin +3. Valued at 750 gp each.
Two of the potions are glowing bright yellow. Cure Serious Wounds. Valued at 750 gp each.
Two of the potions are a viscous blue/green. These are Elixirs of Swimming. Valued at 50 gp each.
The wand is a thick liveoak, polished to a high sheen but with small nicks and scratches to it. Mage Armor, 21 charges. Valued at 315 gp.
The empty jade coffer with velvet cushion that once held the earth elemental stone is valued at 125 gp.
.
OK, boys and girls, divvy up the treasure and make yer plans.
No offense to our DM but I think this is the better forum to work out the division of loot.
After a brief look, nothing really stands out as a must have for Bryson.

Unless someone really wants it, I suggest selling the jade coffer and just count it as cash.

And in addition, Sneaky's been gone for 2 1/2 months; time to recruit a replacement for a Rogue position?
We already have 7 characters. I don't think we need another. Our party is rather grunt heavy right now and either we'll adapt or current players will be needing to bring in new characters anyway. I don't think we need to recruit any more players at this time.

1346.91 gp / 7 = 192.41 gp (4 cp left over)
100 low quality gems / 7 = 14 (2 gems left over or value 2.85gp, 5 cp left over)
(gems as money: /7 = 142.85 gp, 5 cp left over
Gold Ring: 60 gp sale value, / 7 = 8.57 gp, 1 cp left over
Jade Coffer: 62.5 gp sale value, / 7 = 8.92 gp, 6 cp left over
Does anyone want the studded armor? I propose the dagger go to Ghirrak so he has a weapon if we run into other creatures resistant to bludgeoning damage. The wand should go to either Ravtahl or Spinnaker Jon, I would guess, if they want it. It could be really handy for things like if we're attacked by ghosts if nothing else. Potions seem easy enough - one per player. As I have healing available, I'll volunteer to go without if we're splitting with Sneaky. I don't need any of the other potions, though an elixir of swimming would be nice if we get stuck in the water because my ability to swim is quite poor.
When we split everything 7 ways, total gold (selling the coffer and ring) per player should be 352.77, with 2 copper pieces left over.
and then we each receive an additional 200 gp from Lavinia.
Annie is absolutely going to take her share of the gems as gems, not money. They will make some lovely jewelry.

A wizard? Really? I don't know why I thought barbarian. Any case, that does make me feel better about that.
Before we split the loot, I suggest we purchase a Cure Light Wand. Yeah it'll cut into everyone's share, but it'll also probably save everyone at some point or another.
Probably because he carries an axe. :D
if everyone gives 107 gold from their share (I"ll give 108) we'll have enough for a cure light wounds wand, fully charged.
We might want to give it to either Bryson or Jon, as they can both use it and Annie has channels.

Spinnaker Jon will take his share of the money, chip in a share for the Wand of cure light wounds, take one of the potions of cure light wounds and one of the potions of Invisibility.
I'll offer the Wand of Mage Armor to Ravtahl, since I already know the spell.

I guess to move things along I"ll just assume everyone's chipping in for a wand. If you don't want to, please speak up.
Next question is who to give it to. I suggest Spinnaker Jon. He's not trying to get into frontline fighting too much, and has Cure Light Wounds on his spell list, so is able to use it - and I've already got the channels I use in a pinch. I"m more than willing to carry it if people want me to, though.
May we go ahead and assume we're getting some shopping done as well, with our share of the take?

Money's no good if you can't spend it. We could take say three days before looking into the taxidermist clue that Penkus left for us. That will give us time to shop and get some rest and let everyone who needs to know that we are still alive.
Oh and I'm all for the Cure Light Wand.

2,414SP
1,000GP
Gems 10GP x 100
Jade Coffer 125GP
Gold Ring 120GP
Studded Leather Armor, masterwork 175GP
- once sold that gives us 3766.91GP
- less the cost of a Cure Light Wounds Wand comes to 3016.91GP
- dividing by seven gives everyone a total of 430.98GP
- then we receive a stipend of 200GP from Lavinia
Silver Dagger,masterwork 322GP
Six Potions of Cure Light Wounds
Two Potions of Lesser Restoration
Two Potions of Invisibility
Two Barkskin +3
Two Cure Serious Wounds
Two Elixirs of Swimming
The Mage Armor Wand 21 charges
- Each character receives a Cure Light Wounds Potion (other than Annie)
- I agree with Jess that Ghirrak would be a good choice for the dagger.
- Ghirrack gets a Cure Serious Potion and a Barkskin +3 Potion (because he spoke up)
- Annie gets an Elixir of Swimming and an Invisibility Potion (she spoke up and might need to be stealthy at some time)
- D'Grim gets a Cure Serious Wounds Potion, an Elixir of Swimming, and an Invisibility Potion (He's part of our front line and covers some weaknesses in a heavily armored grunt)
- Bindle gets a Barkskin +3 Potion
- That leaves the 2 Lesser Restoration Potions and the Mage Armor Wand for Bryson, Ravtahl, and Jon. My suggestion would be for Ravtahl to get the wand and Jon to get the potions, and Bryson will wait for next time. As an alternative, I'd be willing to sell the potions that are left and pitch in for another Mage Armor Wand.
Note: You may note that there is no effort to maintain balance, equality or fairness here. These are just my suggestions in an effort to expedite this process.
