Sorry to hear that. I hope she finds something soon.

One of the good things about where I work is my co-workers. Of course, the company keeps firing most of my friends too.

How long till your home again? Will you take tomorrow off or head straight back into work?

Felt like going all out for breakfast for the kids. Blueberry pancakes, sausage, and hashbrowns. :)
Their plates are as big as what I would fix for me.

On a side note, we go to the docs today to get meds for Kellen. I am kinda worried and kinda hopeful. I tried working with him last night to get his week work done, and he was a huge pain about it. If that is what his teacher goes through than I understand her pain. :\

She hated her job, so she's keeping a positive attitude. It finally forces her to find something different, and possibly go back to school, so it might work out for the best.

I've got an 8 hour drive, so I'll probably be back home around 5 or 6 depending on when and where I stop to eat.

I'm going back to work tomorrow. Unfortunately, there were two sites that I had to work with today that have to wait, but they can't wait more than a day. :S

On Saturday I finally decided that if only two people from my group are going to show up to play, than I will run with only two people. We have a third player who shows up as often as her work schedule permits, and I allow one of my other players to run her character when she's not there. Throw in my DMPC to fill the rouge gap and we have a pretty good party.

So today I finally had to bite the bullet and realize I can't get anyone to work Open tomorrow morning and so now have to go in and do it myself... :/

On the positive side, I am going to teach one of the other guys how to count for Stocktake so I don't have to stay all day from 6am 'til 10.30pm, which was when I was supposed to finish.

For those of you helping with prayers -

UPDATE from my friend - Tracy's kidneys are working at about 20%. With massive steroids her white count is normal. She feels better after 2 blood transfusions. She was able to sit in a chair for a few minutes. A little sun shine in the forest but she's not out of the woods. Please keep praying.

BTW, it's sad that some of the people in the Pet Shop would see this as a statistic. I'm happy to see it as the beginning of a miracle. This girl and her family were preparing for death! Now they have hope.

Thank you all for your prayers! The family has felt them, and been strengthened by them.

I have presented things like this before in the pet shop, including scholarly articles on the subject. The usual response freom the people that you are talking about is that it's a psychosomatic reaction brought on by a lifetime of indoctrination. It works because you think it will work, not because of any divine power. "Open minded people" are so closed minded sometimes.

Yeah, people can rationalize most anything away. It leads to a dull life. The power of positive thinking can tip the balance in life. Beyond atheism I think several of them are simply angry, lumping religion into the camp of 'everyone's that crapped on me'.

However you want to look at it, this is great news. I am glad that your friends is dong better. And my prayers are still with her and her family.

Spoiler:
I think what upsets me is that when you say...my prayers are with you...to someone who doesn't believe, they say somethng along the lines of thanks for nothing. Well since I do believe they aren't nothing. And as for the way you take that...you could simply accept them and thank people for the good thoughts.

My stupid parents make us do Stocktake on the whole store every week. My sister usually does it, but she's away overseas so I have been doing it the last month or so. I hate it and it takes me twice as long to do because of that.

I mean it's relatively straight forward, you just gotta count stuff. I just have to show him what and how.

Somebody said that to you? That's... appalling.

As a non-believer, when someone says I or someone close to me is in their prayers, or "God bless", or anything of the sort, I take it very seriously, because I can appreciate how meaningful that is to someone who does believe, and I take it for the great kindness that it is, rather than throwing it back at somebody.

I can also appreciate a miracle as something wonderful, awe-inspiring, and mysterious, even if I don't attribute any deific basis to it. I have little patience for those who simply crap on others' beliefs.
