Lost Omens Campaign Setting General Discussion

Dark Archive

Wow, just discovered that Pathfinder has it's own discussion forum over on enWorld now that it's released. We're in the big leagues now everyone! ;-)

Actually, the Pathfinder forum is a smart move of Enworld to kick away any PF discussion form the main forum. If you take a closer look, the "General RPG" forum of Enworld is full of 4e threads, while any PF thread gets swiftly moved away.

Oh well, Morrus was paying lip service to WotC all along. Just don't get me started on how ENworld mods went bananas on any anti-4e thread, or when they made a special subforum for the "PDF debacle" threads just to keep them out of general notice.

Gorbacz, that all sounds a little paranoid to me. I'm in agreement with the people who see a Pathfinder forum as a positive step. I really don't think the reason for its creation was some kind of conspiratorial stifling of Pathfinder's ENWorld presence!

I might be paranoid, but between my many years of administrating / moderating various forums and skulking on ENworld, I have my theories.

On the upside, it's easier to find PF-related stuff there now.

The important thing will be to see how the forum develops. If it really takes off then that will be a good sign in my opinion of how Pathfinder will be doing overall. By taking off I mean lots and lots of posts and threads on a continuous basis.

Exactly; and the onus is on us to keep the forum current and relevant including discussing anything generic in there.

Let's not forget that they aren't splitting threads in General, so if there is a reason to mention something about Pathfinder in a General forum, general interest thread, just do it without being worried that it will be shunted off to a ghetto.

My initial reaction to this wasn't positive, but the fact remains that 4E has more than one forum devoted specifically to it, so it isn't like they're intentionally playing favorites - at least not as far as I can tell.

I think that was one of the main reasons for it.

As for your take on the EN World mods, I would disagree - they were getting rid of anyone and anything who was just spoiling for conflict with other posters; and there were plenty of them on both sides of the fence. However, there were many anti-4E threads that survived because people played the ball and not the man.

The main thing I think is to make the forum over there as vibrantly active as possible.

Why bother, these forums are just as good and the actual devs are here. No hate on ENWorld just not sure why I'd go post about PF there.

The only reason I can see, and a good one, is that different people hang out there and you would get new, different ideas. Never hurts to expand your circle of friends.

It's always better to be inclusive than insular.
