Well, after six years of semi-regular playing, my group of gamers have finally managed to defeat the Cagewrights under Cauldron and stop the Tree of Shackled Souls from ruining their home.
It took 4 players (with one changing about two years in) and 5 character deaths, not to mention my getting married, buying a house and (my wife) having a baby girl!
I've decided to make the Adimarchus section a sort of 'whatever happened to...' mini campaign later on, and meanwhile the group is getting ready to undertake the Age of Worms.
At this rate we should get to Rise of the Runelords before I retire...
And the three best quotes from the entire campaign:
"Guys, if we're going up against two demon princes, I'm going to need a bigger sword."
"What do you mean you don't get what the giant, fiendish preying mantis is doing here? You're the one who told me to -ing summon it!"
and (my personal favourite)
"Well, if we're talking about half-arsed plans that haven't got a chance of success, how about this one?"

Alot changes in 6 years eh?
Congrats on completion! So you didn't run Chapter 11 or 12?
I finished SCAP first part of Feb. Started AoW two weeks later. We'll be finishing chapter four at next game on the 11th.
It's getting good! Have fun starting that. See ya in the AoW forum then!
(TIP: read ALL of issues before beginning - add some good foreshadowing - one of the things I did was made Alahastor's family tree be important to the town and important to the story....to explain things later......)

Congrats! It's taken us almost a year and a half to make it just past the Tax Riot in Chapter 5 (we only game fortnightly). At our current rate I'm thinking it will take us about 3 years to get to the end. We're all still enjoying the campaign so, all going well, we should make it through to the end.
Was there any reason why it took your group so long to finish?

The biggest reason I'm leaving off the showdown with Adimarchus is that I want the characters to get a bit more experience in first, by running Porphyry House Horror (as a foreshadow to AoW) and then letting them loose under Maure, using the three adventures from the Dungeon mags, + Wizards' Walk.
As for why the campaign has taken so long, all of the players have professional jobs, plus family lives and we sometimes have gone 3-4 months between sessions. The good old Uni Days of tri-weekly sessions are looong gone!
This has also emphasised the importance of a thorough campaign journal!

We keep an extensive online messageboard that the players all post on as well.
They keep players journals there, as well as downtime activities (crafting, personal time in the city, relationships etc), and discuss their treasure distribution, and I update it regularly with NPCs, places info, and plot-point narrations. Not to mention I keep a running blog of each games rules issues that we may encounter - so that we can keep track of what was discussed, and ruled on and decided for later - so that consistency with them ensues.
All in all, it helps alleviate the "what were we doing?" "Where were we going?" and "what was the name of that NPC we were looking for...?"

That's great Reggie, there is nothing better than actually finishing a gigantic adventure like that. I am just finishing an 8 1/2 year campaign myself (though it is not SCAP). I went through 2 graduate programs, 5 jobs, and 4 different relationships before finally getting married late last year. I only had 3 player changes in that time period. :-)

Wow, six years. That's epic, man. My party has gone for a little over a year and the wrecked house on the Last Laugh last week.
Congrats, finishing this monster is no small feat. If it takes you just as long to do Age of Worms[/i}, you may be finishing [i]Savage Tide before you all go into nursing homes. :D
