Hasnett looks hopefully at the surrounding jungle. "Towards the volcano then. Not sure if following a path is a good thing or not."
But can she see one at all other than the one we're already on?
No. There's the occasional small foot-path branching off to the east or west, but this is clearly the most-traveled (running north-south, north is the volcano). What were you trying to learn with the Nature check?

"Lets me just have a quick looksee over the logs first, hey?"
Hoku scrabbles at the palisade in attempt to climb it and observe what lies beyond.
Pat, please roll Acrobatics and Perception checks for me, as I am without any method to do so right now.
Again, you're having this conversation quite some distance from the wall -- it's barely in sight. Please confirm with me and your allies that you're going up to it to climb.

Those of you don't have readily accessible sheets, could you please rectify that? Thanks.
As the party moves closer to the palisade Hasnett and Hoku realize that the group is making too much noise to get much closer as a whole before being spotted by the two tall, armed men Hasnett now sees guarding a likely gate. They do not appear to have spotted you at this stage.

Hasnett |

"Don't frighten anyone and try not to attract their attention. We're not really planning on going in there. Just see if you can work out if they're the same tribe as the people we just met. I'd say listen out for conversation, but we wouldn't understand it ..." Hasnett whispers on, and finally stops and shrugs ruefully at Hoku.
"I've got no idea Hoku, but information is always good, right?"

Hoku Te Ulani |

Hoku nods and slinks off into the foliage.
She approaches the guards stealthily and observes them for a while.
Stealth, Perception, Insight (1d20+13=23, 1d20+9=12, 1d20+4=24)
She then circles away from the gate and finds a place to climb the fence and see what lies beyond.
Stealth, Acrobatics, Perception (1d20+13=25, 1d20+14=20, 1d20+9=13)
If she remains undetected, she returns to the party to report her observations.

Hoku:

Hoku Te Ulani |

As the party approaches (?), they find Hoku trying to communicate with two more tall men, who could be twins of those who went to fight the lizards -- one with bow, one with spear.
At the sight of the group, the bowman lets out a ululating cry similar to that the woman did, then levels a very long arrow at Hasnett. The spearman takes a defensive stance, eyeing Hoku.

Elohir Miriel |

"Here we go again," mutters Elohir to the others around him. "We are not reaching the volcano today are we?"
Elohir also takes a rather defensive stance and prepares his spells.
In Primordial, then Common, and then Elven "We mean you no harm and only wanted to take a closer look at your settlement. We are travelers from far away. We have met others of your kind peacefully already and only wanted to learn more about you."

Elohir Miriel |

Aden watches the events unfold. Ready to draw when needed.
"We really need to find a common lanuage, or something we all can understand"
"We have tried everything we know thus far. I can't even recognize their language, let alone try and emulate it. It would take weeks to decipher unless we get lucky and finally find some common ground."

Hasnett |

Hasnett keeps her hands open and clearly weaponless and stands still, attempting once more to communicate with sign language.
And I only have about 30 seconds before my network cuts out on me, so if anything in the next day or so makes no sense, that's why. Or rather, less sense than usual.

Hasnett will attempt to show that the party have already met some of their kindred. Although quite how she's going to do that is anyone's guess. She's versatile and much cleverer than me though :D What kind of roll would be appropriate here DM?
I was going to say raw Charisma check, but I think Diplomacy is probably most appropriate, even without a common language.

Elohir Miriel |

Elohir assists Hasnett as best he can, trying to reiterate the words he used before.
1d20+8=20 Diplomacy to assist. Add +2 to Hasnett's result.
