In Rodese to Groodar:

Spoiler:
"Statement: this unit is grateful for your assistance. This unit's best side involves grenade launchers."

Dropping his saber into his palm and gathering up our team Danguard looks to his fellow Jedi first, then the others.

Deadpan: "I'm assuming command of this mission, until outranked or relived of duty. Any Objections?"

Female Jedi 1 / Soldier 1

"None here, um.. sir? I don't think I got your name."

For Groodar:

Spoiler:
If you heed Dangaurd's call to battle, you'll fall a bit short of your 10 minutes to finish what you are doing, although this shouldn't be detrimental to HK-22.

Danguard Troy wrote:

"My name isss Remar," the Khil states, drawing his blaster pistol at the mention of 'company.'

"Statement: this unit is designated HK-22 and programmed to train Jedi. This unit will follow you, Troy, for now."

HK-22 is going to check the shuttle's weapons locker to see if they have any larger weapons than his rifle.

For HK-22:

Spoiler:
HK-22 doesn't see anything particularly useful in the cargo hold.

Male Selkath Jedi 2 (XP: 1342)

"I will defer to your experience Troy. I am Klonsa Frakhesh. You can call me Klonsa."

Klonsa draws his lightsaber and makes ready to move out.

Male Ithorian Noble 1

Curses! I still can't break that 10 mark on my knowledge rolls. But I'm closer. The galactic lore check for the symbol above. Knowledge Galactic Lore (1d20+8=16)

Ceelell listened quietly to all the talk, trying to process what is being said by the angelic creature and gathering what information he can from all the other's speeches. Finally he looks to Troy and nods his head. "This is fine for me. I can provide tactical assistance, as I did for the previous commander, but I do not believe my role is to lead. The loss of life is a difficult thing for me, I would prefer not to have to order it."

He glances to the other who calls out that there is company coming. "Do they look hostile?"

Female Twilek (Lethan) Jedi 2

Hearing that they've got company, Aruuna takes one last look over the various consoles on the bridge to see if any of the weapons are still functional.

Use Computer (1d20+1=8)

If she doesn't find any working, she'll head back down to the cargo hold quickly.

Male Rodian Scoundrel-2

Groodar quickly places his tool kit in his backpack without finishing buffing out the rust on HK-22. He slings the pack over his back and draws his rather small blaster pistol from its hip holster.

Basic: "Groodar will finish later friend HK-22. Troy or others may need our assistance repelling boarders or other undesirables."

Groodar heads to the cargo hold, and depending if HK-22 comes with him or not, will make sure he is behind the fodder, er, um, combat droid.

Ha!

"Statement: Let us proceed to the cargo hold and hope that there is mindless violence to be had. This unit specializes in violence."

Female Jedi 1 / Soldier 1

"Well met Klonsa, Groodar, Troy, Remarr and Ceelell. I am Christy."

Trying to get a read from the incoming units she muses.

"We're not sure they mean us harm yet, but when has anything good come from a squad of droids come knocking on a crashed ships door?"

"No offense HK."

Unless otherwise indicated, I'm going to assume that everyone heed's Dangaurd's call to check out the approaching automatons. If this is the case, I'd like to know how you stand (i.e. how far apart, who is in the first rank, who is in the second rank).

Also, once you figure out how you are standing, I'd like each character to make a perception check as they file out of the ship, and post the result.

Female Twilek (Lethan) Jedi 2

((Actually, if Aruuna can't get any of the ships weapons working, she's going to do something else for the moment))

As she arrives in the Cargo Hold, she notices the Holocam Droid out and about, and turns to Groodar.

'Does that thing transmit live holo-images, that we can pick up? We should use it to scout out those approaching droids to see if they are hostile.'

Male Rodian Scoundrel-2

Groodar bows before Christy and looks around the cargo hold to find a good place to protect himself from possible incoming blaster fire.

Basic: "It is an honor to be in your presence master Jedi. Let's hope the force is on our side this day."

Perception roll to find adequate defensive cover. (1d20+0=6)
Groodar's head antennae quickly dart back and forth as he quickly visually rescans the cargo hold.

Reroll of Perceception skill check. (1d20+0=9)

Rodese: "nIteb Qob qaD jum 'e' chaw'be' Suvwl'"

"Author initiate defensive protocols and begin auto record and follow."

Male Rodian Scoundrel-2

Groodar turns his head to Aruuna.

Basic: "Author records and offers playback on all known mediums however Groodar has no remote communication sensors presently in his gear for remote viewing."

Perception skill check for the unknown. (1d20+0=18)

I'll stand out front, seeing as I just nominated myself leader.

Aruuna taps the holo-comlink on her left wrist. 'Would this work as a receiver, Groodar?'

Male Selkath Jedi 2 (XP: 1342)

I will take the second position, about 5 feet behind Troy. Perception 1d20+7[13,7] = (20)

Female Jedi 1 / Soldier 1

I quickly point out I am a knight and not a master to Groodra, and also add that it appears our only master has "become one with the force" and take a position next to Troy in the front lines.

perception check: Ugh(3)

Male Ithorian Noble 1

Its good to know that my ability with skill checks extends beyond knowledges. Maybe I'll make the ultimate soldier since I'll be able to roll attack rolls instead. Perception (1d20+0=4)

Ceelell draws his own blaster and sets it to IonIts Verpine ability. He looks around at the others and falls in slightly towards the back, he knows he's not the best shot and is probably better off being out of the way of the others. Plus from that vantage he is better able to assess the situation ahead of them and encourage the others.

"Let us be ready, fellow sentients. We don't know just what these droids are looking for, but it seems likely that they could be part of the conquerors that were spoken of. In any case, be ready for anything, try and take the most defensible positions possible."

Going to try and activate my inspire confidence ability again through his speech as soon as combat looks to be imminent. +1 on attack rolls and +1 on skill checks as long as I'm visible and not unconscious.

Well there goes my knowledge tactics check to see if I could spot any better position to set us up in. Knowledge Tactics (1d20+8=9)

Male Rodian Scoundrel-2

Basic: "Oh that would work most excellently!"

Author is already active as I did it in another area of the ship as I was working on HK-22 before interrupted. Also if you need Author's stats they are in my profile.

Perception skill check for Author. (1d20+14=24)

Groodar sends Author ahead to scout unless its sensors picked up something intresting from the perception roll.

Groodar hopefully found a good place to offer cover with his low perception roll earlier.

Female Twilek (Lethan) Jedi 2

While flicking through the holo-channels to pick up the droids signal, Aruuna mutters to herself in her native tongue (namely Ryl/Twi'leki), wondering aloud why everyone's left the highly defensible ship.

She then turns to Lucen, advising him politely to stay back and hide in the back of the ship, and wait till they sort it all out, trying to reassure him.

Male Rodian Scoundrel-2

Groodar's head antennae dart in Aruuna's direction as he hears bits of Ryl of which he is fluent in after spending so many nights at Targon's Exotic Dance and grill.

Perception check to hear Aruuna muttering. (1d20+0=15)

For Groodar and Christy:

Spoiler:
At about 20 meters (or 10 squares), as soon as the camera droid happens down the ramp, it gets a clear picture of the incoming automatons:

Droids

Except that the droids are red a black, bearing the symbol mentioned before.

If you are going to act against the droid, and can do so at 10 squares, you may do so in a surprise round.

You also have time to alert the rest of the party to act as well.

For Groodar

Spoiler:
'By the Goddess, why is everyone rushing out the ship? This hold is easily defensible!

Male Rodian Scoundrel-2

Groodar smiles and shurgs at Aruuna.

Did Groodar find a suitable place to hide with his '9' Perception skill check?

If he did not find suitable cover he tries to make sure he is at least behind HK-22

Basic: "Groodar describes what Author sees if no one is looking at the holo image on Aruuna's holocommunicator."

Basic "Knight Christy what is our next course of action?"

Groodar studies the visual being broadcasted to Aruuna's holocommunicator.

Mechanics skill check to see if Groodar can determine the droids function or what equipment they have installed. (1d20+7=23)

Its fairly easy to find cover, either behind the boarding ramp, the landing gear, or the bent frame of the ship.

Meaning anyone can have cover if a fight ensues, and you have cover to attempt stealth checks.

Female Twilek (Lethan) Jedi 2

Passing her holo-communicator to Groodar, Aruuna pulls her lightsaber out its holster, thumb on the activation plate.

'We may as well go outside and join the others. Groodar, you keep half an eye on what your droid shows you, and let us know if it sees anything unusual, like droid reinforcements. Oh, and Lucen, stay in here and keep your head down. We'll take care of these droids.'

With that, she strides out and takes up position next to the other Jedi.

Perception Check (1d20+1=17)

Male Rodian Scoundrel-2

Groodar speaks to Author in Rodese through the holo-communicator ordering him to find a suitable place of cover while maintaining footage.

Stealth check for Author. (1d20+22=40)

For Groodar:

Spoiler:
It appears to have a durasteel shell and is equipped with a blaster rifle. It looks a little different than the ones you are used to, but it looks like the base model sentinel droid that many military forces use.

Now that you have had them pointed out to you, the first rank of droids is standing in a row of four, about 10 meters apart, and there are three ranks of droids, for a total of about a dozen droids.

Christy Gamble wrote:

"Statement: no offense taken, meatbag."

Perception: 1d20+8=28 Nat 20! Woot!

HK-22 will take up a position under cover in the second rank, with a clear firing solution at the incoming droids. He will also take the time to switch his rifle to autofire and brace himself.

Male Rodian Scoundrel-2

Basic: "These droids are built for combat and guard duty. We want to be careful as they are heavily armored and armed. Anyone have any grenades to take em out if need be as there is a 12-squad heading this way it seems."

You notice the force of droids, armed with rifles, marching toward the ship. If you are inclined to attack, you can attack in a surprise round, as they do not seem to have detected you yet. The front rank of droids are at 20 meters (10 squares).

If you notify your allies first, before you attack, they may make an attack in the surprise round as well.

HK-22 will issue the following statement: "Statement: INCOMING!" and autofire!

(I edited my post above to add: "HK-22 will take up a position under cover in the second rank, with a clear firing solution at the incoming droids. He will also take the time to switch his rifle to autofire and brace himself." I'm going to proceed as if this happened...)

Autofire and damage: 1d20=3, 3d8+2=17

Note: I cna't brace this, as it's not an autofire only weapon, so ignore the bracing point... I really need to get me a heavy repeating blaster rifle... Or an E-Web...

Everyone hears HK-22 yell: "Incoming" and if they are so inclined, they can take an action in the surprise round, as you all see at about 20 meters (10 squares) a rank of sentinel droids standing about 10 meters apart, in three ranks, for a total of 12 droids.

The droids don't appear to be aware of you, but just after HK-22 yells, you see him fire a burst of autofire from his blaster rifle and pulverize the nearest sentinel droid to him.

For HK-22:

Spoiler:
There weren't two close enough to catch more than one in autofire, but the half damage of the autofire was enough to blow one of the sentinel droids apart.

Male Rodian Scoundrel-2

Basic: "Crazy droid! Don't you have any programing in protocol and etiquette? We did not know what their intentions were. Back to moisture vaporator maintenance for you my friend."

Groodar from behind cover of the landing gear takes a shot at an advancing droid (as weapon was already drawn in previous post).

Sporting Blaster Pistol (with Point Blank Shot since the droids are within 20 meters/10 squares):
Sporting Blaster Pistol Attack Roll (1d20+3+1=18)
Sporting Blaster Pistol Damage Roll (3d4+1=7)

Profile character sheet updated for shots left on pistol

HK-22 lets out a disappointed sigh as the first droid falls. "Statement of regret: so much wasted droid life. This unit much prefers to shoot meatbags."

Groodar Greepbar wrote:

I'm preparing a force jump once they get within range (with my best score they're still well out of range by 12 meters or so.)

With the flourish of a pearl white energy trail I draw my lightsaber and hold it in a reverse grip behind my back. With my free hand I draw my hood over my face. It's pure white blade hums and crackles somewhat erratically.

"Next time." Looking at HK-22. "Lead them a meter and aim for the second in line, with auto fire you'll trace your targets better."

Female Jedi 1 / Soldier 1

Surprise Round: Force Blast (Unleashed Book)
Roll: natural 20 JOY!

20+7=27

if Ref is 27+ they avoid damage, if not they take 4d6 points of damage from compressed air and debris.

Damage Roll: [5,3,4,4] = 16

Christy outstretches her hand in hopes of smashing a droid with the force!

Male Ithorian Noble 1

Ceelell drops low against the wall, pointing out the line and taking a shot. His lack of skill with the blaster is quite obvious though as the ion blast fires out. Verpine Blaster shot (1d20+2=6, 3d6=11)

Shaking his head a bit, he looks to HK-22 "Are you sure they were hostile? Before we opened fire on them that is."

For our unique initiative set up, if your side gets initiative, your readied action doesn't do much, but if the droids win initiative, you get to play out your readied action, and then take your action during your side's turn as normal.

Even though the droids have had little time to react, the arcing blue discharge of Ceelell's ion blast goes just to the side of the droid that he aims for, failing to harm the machine.

While there is certainly some tactical information that you don't quite process looking at the scene, you do know this much . . . the debris and large shieldleaf plants on the ground make this entire area except for what is directly adjacent to the ship difficult terrain.
