Very well in that case We Shall Do the whole.. Later that evening
It is that evening and You can hear rain clattering on the bronze dome above you. it's that time where the drunkards are tossed out by the bouncers, the staff are leaving for there apartments, and Saul has Retired to his counting room. and larur has just aroached you all "Hey crew, well done with the whole snake thing and all, Now Can you all keep a good ear out this evening make sure Whoever wrote that note doesn't make it come true eh?"

Rorsius |

With the rest of the group, once there by their selves, Rorsius perks up a bit at the mention of Zincher."I like him." He mutters as he chomps on a bit of days old bread."Something in his eyes held a little more dignity than Saul." He stopped to think for a moment"No not dignity...rather a steel resolve." Resuming his chomping he said cooly"If Zincher was the man who was responsible for the note, It certainly wasn't a hollow threat, so keep your heads up."
Sorry about the recent silence. Graduation parties lasted about a week. haha =P

Zareby Grenache |

Narnel nods some to the man. "Of course."
When the group is alone, away from even Saul's men, Narnel turns to Zareby. "Did this man... Zincher, was it? Did he say anything that would lead you to think he may have taken part?"
Zareby sits back, flipping a platinum coin. "He didn't do much. Just tried to recruit me for his side. He fed me some coin, I fed him some lies. He's sending a guy to meet me at my table tomorrow at ten. Don't get involved unless things start getting violent."

Jean-Paul d'Austaire |

Jean-Paul grins at the goup before replying "I thought I'd left all this intrigue behind in Cheliax. Guess the city of thives wasn't the place to go if I wanted a quiet lifestyle though."
He laughs at the irony of life before assuring everyone " Yes, I'll be keeping my eye out for trouble, not that I seem to be much good at spotting it at the moment."

Kratos |

Kratos sits on the table playing with some knot that looks to be made of silk. Looks at Jean-Paul she smiles and winks at him
'Hey Mr. rough and tumble, your looking at a city run by thieves, murders and pirates. Heh and you think the politics of devils are controverted'
She humms happily to herself and bounces with joy at the thought of the conflicts and back ally dealing to come

EEK! sorry i thought i had allready posted this days ago!
advance to this point once your through with that evening
It Seems the rain continued through the night as you all wake up early due to the rain clanging down on the brass dome above as you glance at the clock on the oposite wall you see that it is 6.00 What do you all wish to do to pass the day? Zareby

Narnel Gallion |

Narnel awakens extra early as normal due to his need only for meditation, though he stays in quiet study until the others begin to arise and his mind is again fresh for spells.
When the day begins, he settles down to create a new scroll to add to his collection. He frowns slightly, seeing he is just short of the funds needed for one of his 'more powerful' spells, but when dealing with assassination attempts and thugs, being able to detect poison seems very useful.
According to the new rules for brewing potions and making scrolls, if they are cheap enough you can make one in 2 hours now. This one qualifies, so if someone else in the group has an idea for investigating any of these threats or anything then I'll help them. Otherwise, Narnel will spend his off time going over his notes about the cyphergate.

Zareby Grenache |

Zareby sits at a table, silently shuffling and reshuffling his cards. "What should I tell the guy? Can't just say a random guy is a member of a rival gang, they'll find out I'm lying sooner rather than later. Just need to wait for the right hand to be dealt..." Zareby then draws the top card, revealing the Jack of Clubs. "That's it..., he says as he puts away the deck and returns to his room.
Alright, unless they have any requests for information, any suggestions for what I should tell the mark? I'm leaning towards recommending he try to recruit Rorsius if only for the comedy value if he buys it, but if you can think of something better I'm all ears.

Jean-Paul d'Austaire |

Jean-Paul gathers his weapons and dresses for the day. He gently rouses the girl sleeping in his bed and kisses her fully on the mouth. "Good morning mon Chere. It is a glorious day in the city of thieves. I think perhaps the two of us should spend the morning taking in the sights. All I've seen so far is the arch as we sailed under it. Show me your city, my beauty." his grin is infectious as he feels the mild excitement of the proposal take his spirit.
Jean-Paul will spend the day with his girl checking out the city before his shift in the afternoon. Any one else is welcome to tag along, though he'll not be paying for you lot like he does for his girl :)
Edit: Just realised it's raining. Won't stop the young fool making the offer though. Hehe.

Leux |

Ugghh. What are you fools up to this early. he says as he turns and puts his pillow over his head. I've obviously taken up with a bunch of loons. You are all crazy you hear, for I who "Whooots with the owls, certainly doesn't soar with the eagles." Luex sleeps a couple more hours before heading downstairs to start practicing his fiddle.
After a while he heads out into the street just to do some sightseeing on his own. Maybe pick a corner and play for an audience.
perform 1d20+11=1+11=12
looks like the rain is dampining his spirits

Apathy
Jean-Paul gives an exagerated bow of chivalry to the young woman, looking ridiculous in the rain. "Mon Chere, for you, I vill cetinly take you to zis restaurant. Wine is always good to wash down some lunch non?". He allows his Chelaxian to come through as her flirtations arouse is interest.

Later that evening after a mosttly usual day for The group, the rain has slowed to a light drizzle and the customers are flowing into the Gold Goblin eager to spend the evening drinking beer and Hopefully wining money.
Zareby' Table quickly fills up with 6 contestants
Jean-Paul and Rorsius stand guard
Leux and Kratos Are in the bar
And Rashmi is still retired in her room
And Narnel sits attop the Catwalks watching down on the bustling crowd below.
Zareby

Zareby Grenache |

DM:
A short while later...
Zareby gets up from his seat, glancing at Rorsius and Jean-Paul as he walks out.
DM:[spoiler]Zareby walks over to where the kid is waiting for him and leans against the wall. "So, anything you want in particular?"

Zareby Grenache |

DM:
Bluff: 13 WHY CAN'T I ROLL WELL IN SOCIAL SITUATIONS! Sense Motive, is he really willing to stab me? 17! WHY AM I ROLLING WELL ON THE THING THAT WON'T KEEP ME FROM BEING STABBED! Also, how far away from the Goblin am I? Far enough to scream and someone inside could hear it?

![]() |

Zareby
Looks to you like this is one disturbed kid very much likely to stab you if you dont act very carefuly
if you screamed really really loudly maybe its quite busy in there with lots of chatter but Jean-Paul and Rorsius might be able to hear you if they pass perception checks, your about 30ft from the stairs and another 10 feet to the open doors your around a corner currently

Jean-Paul d'Austaire |

Catching Zareby's glance his way, Jean-Paul takes the queue to keep an eye on him.
As surreptitiously as possible, he moves to a position where he can watch the man as he elaves the gambling den. Knowing he still has to keep an eye on the floor, the young fighter doesn't move too far though. With so much trouble coming against this establishment, he didn't want ot be too far away if his blades were needed again.
Sorry I haven't replied sooner, have been caught up in two games I'm dm'ing. Back on track now though.

Zareby Grenache |

DM:
Critically failed by Bluff attempt to feint (10, if you want to know), and thus standing here. Unless he has 18 Strength or gets a crit, he won't kill me on the first hit. Thus, next turn I can withdraw back around the corner to relative safety. Obviously, if he somehow falls for it, I'm running 30 feet to the corner.

Zareby
Jean-Paul sees A Kid jsut read Zareby' first spoieler for a description lunging at Zareby with a knife the blow slashes into Zareby' side but he is still standing.

Jean-Paul d'Austaire |

Watching his friend getting slashed with the knife, Jean-Pauls anger is immediately kindled.
"Hey you little bastard!" he calls, drawing his sword and charging the boy as Zareby rushes past him, clutching his damaged side.
If you're gonna start stabbing people boy, better start brining bigger weapons" he snarls as he swipes at the assailant.
I'll charge the kid if possible. Attack and damage 1d20+6=9, 1d8+3=6. Well, that's the thrid roll this morning for my characters that was less than 5. Think I'll stop using IC for today, and update the rest of my games at a later date. Hehe. If the charge happened my AC will be 16 for the round

![]() |

Jean-Paul charges at the kid but the blade misses wildly Probably should have done this earlier but inititive please Jsut For Rorsius Zareby And Jean-paul unless you call on the others
"oh my god this is gonna be fun kicking some tough sailors A$$"
He Reacts incredibly swiftly and stabs at Jean-Paul who catches the kids wrist before the blow connects and shoves him back a bit.

Jean-Paul d'Austaire |

Initiative = 1d20+3=20
When next its Jean-Pauls turn
Drawing his short sword in one swift motion, Jean-Paul now faces the young man with both weapons. His feet find their balance and he starts to move as his instructors taught him back in Chelax.
"You only get one chance to give this up boy, and trying to stab me and my friend just blew that. Hope you made peace with the gods today, for yo'll meet them soon enough"
The words were certainly brave enough, but he couldn't back them up with his blades. His eyes kept darting to the crowded streets, wondering when this boys friends would show up, and secretly hoping the Gendarmes would arrive soon and arrest the kid. It was only as his second blade fell very wide that he realised he too could easily get arrested here.

Rorsius |

Init 1d20+2=16
Rorsius knew Zareby would go getting himself in trouble. Spinning on his heel He rushed to the side of Jean Paul. Never much on words, he opted to let a strong left hook and elbow speak.
flurry of blows 1d20=20, 1d20=12

Jean-Paul d'Austaire |

Apathy
Heya Boss, not sure if you've noticed how Rorsius seems to roll amazingly well at times. When you check out his history of rolls for Invisible castle this is what you get Link. Notice the very large number of rolls for his character dated June 20th, all within a short period of each other. Also note how only the best ones seem to appear on the actual game thread.
IC is meant to be a leveller to prevent this type of thing. I for one love the fact that sometimes our characters get messed up because we're not good enough to always hit.
I'm just letting you know in case you were'nt aware of his "cheating". If, by some Chance Rorsius has happened to open and read this spoiler, which I suspect may happen, then please take some friendly advice and stop it.
Apathy, I'm not sure how you'd like to deal with this, hell im not sure how I would deal with this as DM. However if it continues, I'll have to leave sorry, as I can't stand that type of player mentality. Win at all costs isn't for me
Cheers

Jean-Paul Acts firststriking swiftly but to no avail again the kid dodges nimbly he reacts next slicing at you with his knife but Jean-Paul Just knocks it to teh side with his sword,
Rorsius runs past him delivering a flurry of blows downing the kid with an elbow to the face.
Kratos,Narnel and Leux
Narnel suddenly hears a sound of steel and fighting he glances down to the hall below and sees no sign of any combat,Kratos as she wonders past the doors notices Zareby running up to teh stairs and Rorsius sprinting around a corner, and Leux continues to serve drinks, Sorry Leux your to far away

Cheers Apathy, sorry I came across as so high and mighty. It wouldn't have worried me so much except this is pretty consistant behaviour for Rorsius. I tried to hint that we knew it was happening earlier in the game, but obviously he didn't listen to that. Hopefully this sorts it. Cheers.
