looks like your all doing great,
The extra skill is just a skill based on your background which you might not usualy take because you wan't other more importent skills,
This extra skill could be like Knowledge nobility if your character used to have a high position um maybe Something like ride if you think your character would have learnt etc...

Just as a question, I'm making some of the last adjustments to my character now, and I just finished reading the players guide last night. Are the cypher feats in there open game? Since Narnel is something of a wannabe cypher-mage I could see those being fun to play around with. Probably would take one now instead of arcane strike and the other as one of his next feats.
Also, I wanted to toss in that I'm quite pleased myself that it looks like we do have a good group of role-players here. It will be a lot of fun building on the story together.
I do have to apologize that Narnel seems to be coming off so Emo at the moment. I meant him to be all serious and stodgy, but that seems to come across as downtrodden in inner monologue. I suspect that once the group starts to talk and act as a team a lot of that will fade and there will be a lot of good opportunities to play off each other. Especially with the more freewheeling members of the pary.

Heh no need to apologise, I'm sure Rashmi will have her moments of being withdrawn, I just lucked out with other peoples starting posts - Rashmi is drawn to bright colours (especially red) which it appears half the potential party are fans of and culturally stories and songs very important to her :)

Hiya, posted this in connection thread but thought i'd try here as well
Heya Apathy, you still got room in this? The second darkenss game I was in has stalled badly after a weeek to the point where i think its going to die. I created a fighter for that which I'm happy to adjust for your game. This will make it 4 pbp for me (about my limit) and will round out the AP's for me (1 character in each).
I'm also a Brisvegas man btw, though I tend to post all over the time zones as my kids (and new pup) tend to wake me up at odd hours.
Cheers
PS a shout out to Kayoss, I was in one of your games last year but had to bow out due to RL stuff. Thought I'd say high.

Woo-hoo! Description and way overly long background are up in the profile. I know the Mierani forest has something to do in this AP(but I don't know what that actually is), but I have him coming from its edge and at some point, a fair amount of time ago, his parents returning to it.
If that will conflict somehow with the story later, let me know and I'll adjust as needed. Otherwise, feel free if there is anything else you want changed.
Thanks

Gnomes are a lot of fun, I ran RotRL with my in person group and we had a gnome druid in the campaign that spiced things up a lot.
I still find a small entry in the guide to korvosa very entertaining. There is a gnomish clockmaker in the city, who along with his daughters min and sec, creates all these clocks and then once a week goes around the shop and resets them all to the exact same time, down to the second. Only its not the right time, each week its a different random time. Apparently he wanted to name the daughters tic and toc but his wife said that was too obvious.

Apathy, anyway i could change the flavor and such of this campaign trait?
Into Enemy Territory: The shadow in the sky is visible from all around Riddleport, not just in town. It’s certainly come to the attention of several druids, rangers, and other rural folk who dwell in the nearby mountains, forests, and swamps—among them, yourself..
-Your long life of self-sustenance has toughened you and made you more resistant to hardship, in any event—pick one of the three categories of saving throw. You gain a +1 trait bonus on all saving throws of that type
I'm thinkin he's grown up on the mean streets, which is just as savage as the surrounding wilderness imo
EDIT: Also, anyone know the page number of the half orc trait in the campaign setting that makes them look like humans?
I simply can't find it.

I just looked at Rashimi's equipment, that is very amusing.
Just out of curiosity, does she have any obvious signs of her worship?
Haha she will have some equipment soon, that's the one bit I haven't done, some of that money will be spent on the saree she's wearing to make sure it's nice for a start!
As for signs of her worship she doesn't tend to carry one when she's going out somewhere and wearing her saree, but does when dressed a little more casually / put adventuring, so it wouldn't be noteworthy now but maybe later

Sounds good, I'm going to be picking up 'cypher-magic' then. Should I gain some sort of entry to the mages at some point, I'll likely pick up the other one as well.
Most of the spells they have listed there aren't of too much use in adventuring, but have kind of a cool flavor about them that fits the group very well. Are those spells that would be available through leveling, or only available to learn if I gained entry to the cyper mages or by picking up one of their spell books?
I hadn't really thought of him joining the cyphers, but more seeing himself as somewhat competing against them, since Narnel wants to prove his abilities rather then have it seem he needed to rely on an organization, but because he sees it part of his brightness(a sort of vision quest elves believe in, its mentioned in the elf section of the campaign setting) I figure he's willing to go where it takes him.
While I am throwing out the questions here, is there any sort of cypher-mage PrC or other feats that are listed in the adventure path somewhere? As I said earlier, I have the books but haven't read them, and while I don't see him too likely to join the organization, I wouldn't want to be too far away pre-req wise just in case he does end up buddying up to them. I figure a class like that would be more fluff and likely less powerful then a normal wizard, but it can be a lot of fun and totally worth it if the RP heads that way.
Finally, go enjoy yourself! You don't have to worry about answering my questions now, have fun. I'm sure we'll be quite comfortable having our chars chat til you get back.

oh i have time for another small post or two=)
I think you'd have to get one of there spell books or join them personally, there is no Cypher mage class just wizard with the odd interesting spell=)
and yeah competing with them is fine if you really want to try some of there spells then get one of your sneaky friends to steal a spell book=)

No worries. Like I said, most of their spells were just neat without being things that I think he would prep(being able to purposefully forget something for 1/day a level so that it couldn't be detected and you could say you didn't know it without lying, sending coded messages that could only be uncoded by those you allowed, ect). Cool for flavor but not overly useful in most campaigns.
Now that tongue-tied one I could see being really potent, but thats a 3rd level spell, so even then its competing against a lot of really useful spells.
As for competing with them, I can't see Narnel ever condoning theft of another wizards research, but I don't know whether we might ever be enemies of them somehow which could result in their spellbooks coming to us in more violent ways. And there is always paying them for the privileged of looking through one of their libraries I suppose.

This seems to be a tremendous group. This is the first time I have ever played a bard and I love it. The role playing ability of everyone is super. I am glad to grateful to be playing with such a group
