Pathfinder Society Scenarios vs. GameMastery Modules

Adventures

I've read several and ran one GameMastery Module now. Love the quality; great products. Just saw another thread here pointing someone to the Pathfinder Society Scenarios. Reading over the brief descriptions and revies it looks like something that may suit my current group well. (We play one-shot modules monthly; no persistent characters or plot)

Wondering; are the PS Scenarios pretty much the same thing as the GM Modules just geared directly towards the Pathfinder game? Are they 'longer' or 'shorter' ? I'm looking for modules that have the same quality content of the GM Modules but don't take as many hours to finish.

PFSs are currently written under the 3.x OGL rules. They're definitely shorter than GameMastery modules, being designed for convention play of 3-5 hours max.

Besides being shorter, they're also geared toward less GM prep time, which is great when you're looking for an adventure to run in a pinch, but translates to less background on the setting and NPCs and fewer character hooks. My players had a great time with the Scenario the other night, but I did notice that there was a feel of just moving from one encounter to the next.

Personally, given sufficient prep time, I'd prefer running a module in most situations. But when you want to run an adventure on short notice or finish an adventure in one session, the scenarios are good.

These sound exactly what I've been looking for; thanks!

I am in a similar situation as Penny Sue. We weill be running with the same characters, but no running plot line (think CSI, not Lost). What I would like to know is, how many modules have been planned for season 0, and at what levels can the characters reach?

I know I have seen this information somewhere, but don't remember where.

Thanks.

remember, that in PFS you level up after 3 adventures, which may or may not be the same as the XP you would normally get from the encounters. Tthat being said, there should be 28 season 0 PFS adventures... there may be a smidge more low level adventures than needed though.
