I've been having a really hard time thinking of anything for this character. I was really jazzed up to start but now it's kind of frustrating not to be able to get any good ideas.

I think I am completely finished, including a somewhat sparse but present background. It's a little past the due date, 50 minutes or so isn't that bad though is it? Let me know what you think Shisumo, I can make some quick changes tomorrow before giving a first post. Sorry it took so long to get things up.

Very, very brief background is done, along with personality and appearance. The background isn't as well written as I'd like and could do with a bit more detail, but it's a start. I will try to expand it a bit more and re-write it so that it's less stilted, but it should be enough to make a start with.

As for your Bad Fortune, here's what I came up with: Bad Fortune roll (1d10=9), which is a +5 TN to all uses of a single skill until you spend 1 XP to overcome the problem. The skill will be Lore: History.
Finally, I should probably point out that you really, really want some Commerce as a jinn summoner. Making the deal with the jinni after you've summoned it is an Awareness/Commerce contested roll, and even if you use your ML 1 Jinn Summoning Spell - which of course you should - you still will suffer unskilled penalties without at least one Rank in the skill itself.

I decided to make my excellent quality item the Light Armor that Ammon now wears. The thought behind this is that the father put the armor on the mother so that she would be more protected as she escapes (since excellent quality light armor doesn't grant any penalties).
Works for me. Make a note of it on your character sheet and you're good to go.

Shisumo, not quite understanding how many spells I get and what form they're in...do I get just a single spell at mastery level 1 in addition to the Senpet spells to begin with?
You get the Senpet spells Sacrifice for the Gods and Voice of Ten Thousand, plus the ML 1 Jinn Summoning spell and one more of your choice. You also get 1 FR to put toward any Discipline you want to choose.

The Void spells are the Celestial ones: Farsight, Astrology, and Divination.

Sacrifice of the Gods requires a Theology skill at Rank 2 that Senpet Sahir don't start with? Is that as it's supposed to be? OR was it supposed to require Theology (Ten Thousand Gods), and it was another editing error?
Sahir aren't very powerful at the beginning are they? Certainly Heihachi would kick this guys butt, unless I had made a really good deal with a Djinn or 4....

Sahir aren't very powerful at the beginning are they? Certainly Heihachi would kick this guys butt, unless I had made a really good deal with a Djinn or 4....
Ignore the Skill requirement (which is Spellcraft, actually, but doesn't really matter). It looks like they were planning to make ghul creation require a Spellcraft Emphasis, but as it stands, it's the only spell that has such a requirement, and it's idiotic.
And no, they aren't. They have a few things going for them - jinn summoning is a big one, as is the fact that all spells only take 1 round to cast by default - but the power level of sahir is much lower than that of shugenja, especially as they begin.

*sigh* kind of lost touch to the thread. I'll re-insert myself as soon as an opportunity presents itself, though, since i am still very much interested in the game
Both the Roll/Keep games got really quiet over the weekend. I'm not sure what happened.
You could follow up on some of the other people around the camp that Ammon hasn't gotten to yet...
