Background: Blood, Fire, and Struggle. That was the earliest memory of childhood that Ammon remembers before being smuggled away by his mother to Medinaat al-Salaam. The only change in Medinaat al-Salaam is that there was no fire but there was plenty of blood and struggle for his mother to support him without their father who died so they could escape. It was learn to fight or die on the streets for Ammon and so he learned to fight.
When adulthood came then Ammon even set aside to become a reputable Soldier of the City Guard but it would never last for him. He was the street-rat and therefore he was targetted by other recruits before it finally ended with him discharged from the guard. He used his skills he learned on the streets and in the City Guard to serve as a bodyguard or strong-arm for whatever the amount that he felt the situation warranted.
The current situation was different for him because he has signed on as he usually did as a bodyguard for the Caravan before finding out that he is going *home*. For the first time in awhile the job has become personal and Ammon doesn't know if that is a good thing.
