Campaign Calendar management software

3.5/d20/OGL

I try very hard to maintain a sense of realism in the game I am running, but one of my biggest failings as a DM is keeping track of time (and weather for that matter). I'm already using a laptop to help run my game - is there a program out there that will help me keep track of the day in the campaign calendar? Typical calendar applications won't really work since they are set around our actual calendar and most campaign worlds have a slightly different (generally more regular) calendar than we do.

Anyway, I just thought I'd throw the question out there.

Thanks in advance

I haven't found one, though I'd love to.

I just use Excel and have set my world to a real-world solar-cycle. There are several different in-world calendars, and most of them are (or at one time were) lunar-based. The advantage of using a real-world solar-cycle is that I can correlate in-world to out-of-world dates for the benefit of my Players so they get a better grasp of weather (there's a lot of overland travel in my campaign).

I suppose you could set up a system to track a unique calendar of your own in a basic spreadsheet if you don't find the math too daunting. Shouldn't be too hard, really.

I did set up unique lunar cycles, which are easier to do, to track moon phases (we had a lycanthrope in the campaign at one point) and so forth. You could assign a random chance of rain or whatever to any given day and have a spreadsheet give you your weather assignment.

Anyway, based on my experience, the onus is on you and your own creativity.

Sorry I couldn't be of more help,

I got geeky and made my own .Net calendar control, which uses am XML file to tell it how many months there are, their names, days in a month, etc.
I then used to control in my own apps where I can see the month, advance by hours, by days, by months etc.

The old Irony Games website had an awesome custom calendar generator, but the site is down now. :(

But maybe somebody has the source code? I don't think it was very complicated.
