Nice. I hope you don't mind me adding; I also think your pieces are getting better every time.

I totally agree. Great work MrShiny!

Fake Healer wrote:

I have a character concept that I would love to see drawn if someone is willing to give it a go....

I am creating a character tonight for a game and I am thinking of a male sword and boarder with a twist. Kinda oriental in appearance, scar running down the right side of his forehead ending at the eye, long braided ponytail, tall, thin and powerfully built, wearing crimson studded leather armor, wielding a nine-ring chinese broadsword in one hand and a round wooden heavy shield, covered in wicker with a central 6"spike and several smaller spikes arranged in a circle about halfway from the central spike to the shield's edge. Baggy crimson pants with bindings at the calves and split-toe leather boots like ninja use.

I haven't done the research yet on a name but I am working on that.

Thanks!

Ang Da-Xia is the name I settled on. I believe I have sufficiently butchered the chinese language for him but the rough translation is "Red Big Hero". It fits him and sounds cool to say which is more important to me than historical accuracy.

He uses a variant of the Flying Kick feat that is renamed for our game as Flying Shield and applies to his shield attack on a charge.

Any takers?

Dark Archive

Got a bit of an unusual request here My character Merle from the chronicles of the silver rose PBP here's a short description

Race catfolk
Height 5'1
Appearence Light brow fur with black stripes, dark brown hair, blue eyes
Clothing Simple short sleaved open legged robe (dark blue), belt with three wands tied to it, pair of well worn boots.

Also when I say catfolk I mean more like catfolk as they are presented In Escaflowne an example of which is here http://www.anime-junctions.net/aj/poze-capitole/escaflowne-eriya-naria.jpg.

Another private commission

Aaron Chitward

A korvosan monk on CotCT

I hope you like it.

Next, Tamec's Halfling (and another private commission :P )

Tamec:
Any special items besides the swords?
Could you link a reference pic on the beard?
Hair description?
Cloak/cape?
Do you mind if I do him lightly armored?
Any special "personality" trait? (chews tabacco, smokes pipe, plays 4e, etc)

I must add... I'm looking at next weeks agenda and I think I'll have to reschedule the drawings... If I want to pull the Xmas poster I may have to hold a bit on the commissions (and even on the personal commissions) for 4-5 days... I hope you don't mind :(

Not at all, you do what ya gotta do.

Dude you shouldn't have to ask us for permission. You're the one that's doing us a favour, you should just tell us how it is. Anyone who doesn't like that isn't someone you want to be doing commissions for anyway.

The beard is actually called a friendly mutton chops. http://www.beards.org/friendly_mutton_chops.php (url bbcode not working on this link). I love google.

I hadn't thought about it but he probably wears a dark green, brown, or gray (elven) cloak to better blend into the scenery.
Hair: Wavey black hair. Other then that it's up to you, I'm not good at describing hair. When I get a haircut I just say short and the barber gives me a buzz cut 2-3 notches above a crew cut.
I don't mind lightly armored.
He does smoke a pipe. What halfling doesn't enjoy a good bit of pipeweed?

Scarab Sages

Ok Montalve. I did a second version and tried to make it as strange as I could while still keeping it obvious it's a music box. It'll be up tomorrow, but I didn't bother to show it open. I'd rather if you try to imagine how it opens instead of me showing you and limiting the strangeness of it. I added more runes and rounded off some of the edges. I think you'll like this one better. And for everyone else, hey! free music box number 2!

wohoo!! more version of the same cursed box! i like it already

did you liked the item itself from the email i sent you?

Scarab Sages

Indeed I did Montalve. Don't know if it really fits the tone of my group (these are the same guys who kept drawing from the deck of many things because they wanted a green mini pony...They weren't happy with the regular one I gave them at one point) so I can't use it myself, but I did find it pretty interesting.

Anyhow, Montalve's Box, Take 2 is up. Hopefully you like this one better because as it says in the description I'm going to be rather busy for the next month or so, so I don't really have time to do it again. And for everyone else, Another Free Music Box for your Campaign

I also got some more life drawings and random sketches up there. Enjoy.

jejeje i just love it, it looks so alien, so weird... thatit just calls to be opened... even as you fear to do it, great great image indeed :D

i know its not an item for every campaign... in thruth with just a bit of twinking it might be an artifact... whichever one if anyone uses it is just calling for troubles :D

Very cool, but I would really like to see one with the Golarian calender days and months. Then I would be able to print it and post it in the game room for in-game reference.

I'm pretty short on time and I'm starting to doubt I'll manage to finish the Xmas poster... would you prefer a Golarion Calendar as Xmas bonus from me? It would be more useful... ;)

I like it!! I'm going to print it out when I get access to a printer...I might wait for foppin and make one run to office depot.

That's AWESOME. The only way it could be improved would be if it had one of those things on the bottom that has the version of the month in different cultures. Then you could do that thing with the Golarion months, and maybe some other settings as well if you wanted. It's a Golarion calender though, so maybe not.
All the same, awesome.

Poeple... Good and bad news....

The bad news is the I won't be able to pull the Xmas poster... the schedule is too tight...

The good news is that instead I'll do a Golarion Calendar. SOmething to use in your pathfinder campaigns. Also this means that I'll be able to pull at least one more PC commissions this week.

Please drop in and share your ideas. I'll upload it the last week of december
Golarion Calendar Thread

If time allows I'll try to do a Xmas Fan Service but I seriously doubt so.

I've been working on a Golarian calendar actually. Someone on these boards (the name escapes me right now, sorry) posted an excel file which is a quite excellent guide, and I'm adding graphics to it all.

EDIT: Wow, cool, I see Hugo's working on one. Nice!

Love the calendar, but it does seem to have one error: the days are for 2008. I checked December, and it looks identical to the month we're all currently experiencing. Still doesn't detract from the quality of the work though!

(But I have to admit, Morag hiding in the middle of the year seemed strange . . . but I'm honored nonetheless!)

The Spanish days start with Monday rather than Sunday. I don't know if it's right to put them in a calendar that way, but that's why it looks as it does. It kept tripping me up too.

And I have to admit that Morag is one of my favorites. :-)

I stand corrected. I was only trying to point out that December 14th (my brother's birthday) is on a Sunday in the 2008 calendar year, and I noted that it remained on a Sunday in 2009. I never knew that about the Spanish calendar-live and learn. I kept the calendar, though, because it's a great piece of work. If Morag had been a smidge later, she would have hit my birthday month (July), but hey, she made it in! Thanks again!

Oh, I wasn't trying to be mean or anything, sorry if it came off that way. It was quite disconcerting for me too and, like I said, I'm still not sure it's right. Oh, wow, I could so have put Morag into July! In fact I still can if you like. It's on a publisher file and switching pages around is no problem. Just let me know.

(December 14th is my cousin's birthday too. Neat.)

Nah, keep her where she is. Thanks for the offer anyway, but I don't believe in messing with perfection like that. But you might go talk with Hugo: I had him fill in her boots as black to keep with that 'priestess of death' idea.
