Early Dragons worth (??)

Dragon Magazine General Discussion

I'm an old-time TSR guy who has a bunch of Dragon Magazines that I've had around for a long, long time. My wife and I are looking to downsize and I recently decided to sell even my Dragon Magazines. I have a full collection from Strategic Review #1 (the Dragon before it became the Dragon) and Dragon #1 up thru 100 or so. Lots of duplicates throughout and lots of scattered issues up to around 200...again many, many duplicates of some.

I have someone who is probably interested, but to be fair to both him and me, I wanted the opinion of all the experts...you. I'm interested in selling the SR1 thru Dragon 100 as a set, but the rest can be broke up in any way.

Any suggestions to worth assuming the quality is say, Very Good (maybe 7 out of 10 on average -- some better, some worse). Any other recommendations?

I really appreciate your input.
Thanx,
Dave

PS: I've got a few old Dungeons as well as a bunch of old Polyhedron Magazines as well if anyone whats to throw their two cents worth in on those as well (same condition).

Well the problem is that I already own most of them ... so I would not be interesed in the whole lot.

If nobody else steps up after a reasonable time, I would advise that you check the Noble knight web site. They are interested in used RPG items.

Check Ebay for a pretty good indication of what various issues are actually selling for.

I've found that (assuming a fairly high quality level for the issues ... no rips, creases, pages missing etc)

Issue 1 goes for the most ... often approaching $75 - $100

Issues in the 2 - 20 range or so tend to go for in the $20 - $50 ballpark

Issues in the 21 - 40 range or so tend to go for somewhere around $15 - $40

Issues from about 41 or so thru 100 tend to drop in value and go for somewhere around $10 - $20 ballpark

After that, they drop considerably ... issues after 100 can go for less than $5 each

Hope that gives you a ballpark idea
