Dungeon Master Drax |

** spoiler omitted **
No, I meant to ask you about that because the two squares you could enter were occupied, so you would only move 15 feet. Then I switched machines and was using an old map and forgot to update. I've updated again.
Also, I just realized we are doing an awful lot of OOC stuff here. It would probably be better on the Discussion thread. I do keep an eye on the Discussion, so I will notice things like this.

Ergrin Stonefist |

Ergrin is engulfed in flame:reflex (1d20+6=12, 1d20+6=7)
That was 7+11 not 7 or 11, right? So 18 total.

Ergrin Stonefist |

If you wish to throw your shurikens, I will accept your rolls. However, if you instead wish to take a different action, you have only used 20 feet of one move action. I've updated the map as to your current position.

Dungeon Master Drax |

The two remaining archers on the left of the road nock their arrows and loose them at the critically burned dwarf. Neither arrow comes close to hitting the brave monk, and you hear them grunt in frustration.
The humanoids wielding longsword on the road move forward and begin hacking at Ergrin with glee. Neither of them manages to land a solid blow.
No hits on Ergrin.
In Goblin:
"Blasted rock-face, why won't he die!?"
The final two creatures on the right embankment draw longswords and attack those threatening them. One swings and Augrok, landing a solid blow that narrowly misses the bear-druid's throat. The other at laughs at Alexei before swinging at him, but encounters the same stoic tree in his attempt.
Augrok takes 2 damage.
Map is updated. Just wanted to point out, I am not pulling any punches here. Thanks for updating the initiative, Kin.

Mijanor Firehammer |

As I don't think Kin Lur's or Alexei's actions up in the woods will effect mine, here it is
"Ergrin! Get chur roasted arse back 'ere. Despite chur best efforts Torag will not be lettin you get out of chur punishment that easy!"
Mijanor will move up 20' feet, which puts Ergrin at about the 25'-30' mark I believe, and Channels Positive Energy again. Excluding Vykos and any one of the humanoids that is damaged (I don't think any of them are yet).

Dungeon Master Drax |

Mijanor strides forward with confidence while yelling at the exiled Ergrin. He manages to stand precariously with one foot on the sloping bank and the other firmly on the road. A pulse of white light accompanied by the faint clang of a hammer indicates he has unleashed the grace of Torag to again heal his companions.
Anybody within 30 feet of Mijanor receives 7 healing, except those excluded.

Kin Lur |

I think I'm up.
Kin Lur shifts his position slightly not a 5' step due to the underbrush, but moves to L24 to get a better shot at Augrok's opponent and hides amidst the trees again.
Shortbow attack; damage; sneak attack; miss chance (1d20+8=18, 1d4=3, 1d6=5, 1d100=79)
His shot seems to be on target, but he doesn't wait for it to strike, immediately ducking behind another large tree. I believe hiding after the shot incurs a -20 penalty, but was not sure and did not include that in my roll.

Dungeon Master Drax |

Kin Lur's arrow flies through the darkness of the trees, woven through trunks and branches like needle and thread. The creature is taken off-guard by this unexpected attack, the arrow strikes it hard in the shoulder. Kin Lur fades back into the darkened trees.
Kin does indeed take a -20 on his Stealth check, giving him a 4.

Alexei |

Attack Roll: 12 + 6 + 1 (bless) + 2 (flanking) = 21.
Damage: 1 (base) + 3 + 3 (sneak attack) = 7, plus 1/rd. bleeding if hit.

Dungeon Master Drax |

Attack Roll: 12 + 6 + 1 (bless) + 2 (flanking) = 21.
Damage: 1 (base) + 3 + 3 (sneak attack) = 7, plus 1/rd. bleeding if hit.
Alexei, are you moving to flank? As noted, there will be no AoO. I will assume yes, as you will miss otherwise. That puts you in O22.
Alexei uses the distraction offered by the dangerous bear to move around the tree. Kin Lur watches as Alexei hacks his scimitar across the back of his opponent's neck. Bleeding and dying, the creature gurgles on it's own blood and crumples forward over the protective branches of the tree.

Dungeon Master Drax |

Suddenly, another hound appears out of nowhere beside Alexei. It lunges forward, biting hard into his side. As the jagged teeth pierce his armor, there is a flash of fire and the distinct smell of burning flesh.
The humanoid with two short-swords steps foward 15 feet and stabs at Ergrin, striking him solidly in the chest. His left-hand sword is glowing with a pale light.
Alexei takes 6 bite damage plus 3 fire damage.
Ergrin takes 5 piercing damage.
Realized I did not have the short-sword creature on the map behind the other enemies. Sorry.

Vykos the Deathless |

Vykos, seeing that Ergin is in trouble, moves around Reaper and stands next to him (R18) on the embankment. He then starts to chant quietly and a pulse of cold sweeps out from him, engulfing all of the enemies around him in death.
Channel Negative Energy. (1d6=1) Selectively Channeling out Ergin, Reaper, Alexei, Augrok and Ur (I think that's all that should be in range).
EDIT:Hey, never mind I like your idea better Jal, keeps me out of harms way. =) I've been trying to think of ways I can constructivly use his Channel without damaging members of the party (or their animal friends). I didn'nt even think of the Hand of the Acolyte as a way to still attack without getting into the thick of things. Thanks.
And I am well now thanks. I am swamped with work, but am back into the swing of things.

Ergrin Stonefist |

Ergrin makes two attacks against the hound to his right, and then moves back from the conflict as far as he can.
flurry with fists (1d20+4=10, 1d8+3=9, 1d20+4=23, 1d8+3=10)

Dungeon Master Drax |

Ergrin strikes with his fists with the tenacity of a dwarf mining rock. A solid blow lands on his opponent, catching him in the kidney and winding the creature. Ergrin backs away from his opponent, able to dodge out of the way of two sword blows as he lowered his guard.
Augrok unleashes the full fury of his animal form, and for a moment is a rampaging whirlwind of claws and teeth. The enemy is overwhelmed, and the druid is able to rip open it's chest with a strong swipe of his claw.
Ergrin cannot reach the hounds, so I am assuming he is attacking the Humanoid.
Augrok deals 7 damage with a claw attack.

Dungeon Master Drax |

The two humanoids in the road charge to Ergrin, both swinging wildly with their longswords. Overconfident, they fail to find their mark. The humanoids on the left side of the road drop their bows, drawing swords as they scramble down the embankment. The remaining foe on the right side swings at Augrok, but the bear-form's thick hide deflects the blow.
"Save him for me, hounds." The dual-wielding creature shouts.
The hounds climb up the embankment, taking up positions near Augrok.
Kin Lur, Alexei, Mijanor - in that order.

Hoping the newcomers to the ridge are unaware of the lurking halfling, I will include sneak attack damage. I presume there is still shadowy illumination, despite the lantern-mouthed hounds. ;-)
Kin Lur attempts to drive two quick shots into the hound attacking Alexei N22.
Rapid Shot #1: Attack, damage, sneak attack, miss chance (1d20+8=26, 1d4=3, 1d6=6, 1d100=28)
Rapid Shot #2: Attack, damage, sneak attack, miss chance (1d20+8=25, 1d4=1, 1d6=3, 1d100=58)
EDIT: I remembered the PBS bonus to the attack roll in IC, but forgot to include it for the damage. Hopefully those hit, if so, they were for 4 points and 2 points of base damage (before sneak attack damage).

Alexei |

I attack the dog with both weapons; "U" (Ur?) is going to have to take care of the humanoid for me.
Attacks: 5 + 4 + 2 (flanking with O) = 11 with scimitar;
8 + 4 + 2 flanking = 14 with short sword;
If I was within the area of that bless spell, I guess that's 12 and 15.
Damage (in the unlikely event of a hit):
2 + 3 + 6 sneak attack = 11 with scimitar;
4 + 1 + 4 sneak attack = 9 with short sword.

Mijanor Firehammer |

Mijanor takes a 5' step back and looks up towards the sky. "Yes Father, 'e be a bit addled but 'e is puttin the 'urt on some gobbos so deserves your blessins." Mijanor than intones a short prayer to Torag and touches his hammer to Ergrin's back. Speaking up again behind Ergrin, "Torag be sayin these vermin should be fallin faster and be tellin ya to stop dancin and start fightin."
converts his Make Whole spell to Cure Moderate Wounds.
Cure Moderate Wounds (2d8+4=10)

DM Drax indicated that your attack last round dropped your humanoid foe. I'm hoping Ur has the presence of mind to come take a bite out of a hound or two.

Dungeon Master Drax |

Just wanted to say that things seem to be smoothing out some, thanks for the effort everyone!
Alexei did drop the humanoid near him, leaving one near Augrok. His attacks this round fail to connect, even with flanking from Ur.
Ergrin has healed 10 hit points thanks to Mijanor.
The hound that bit Alexei strikes again, this time ripping at the half-elf's shins, leaving distinct burning tears in his leggings. The dual-wielder takes a quick step forward, plunging both swords into Vykos' horse.
Alexei takes 6 bite damage and 2 fire damage.
The horse takes 9 piercing damage.
Vykos, Ergrin, and Mijanor may make a spot check now.
Vykos has the next turn.

Vykos the Deathless |

Perception (Spot) Check. (1d20+1=19)
Vykos notices the dual-wielding Goblinoid plunge his swords into Reaper and his face tightens, but he manages to continue his concentration enough to maintain his Hand of the Acolyte. It moves in and takes another swing at the dual-wielder.
Hand of the Acolyte; Attack on Dual-Wielder. (1d20+3=19)
Damage from Hand of the Acolyte Sickle on Dual-Wielder. (1d6+1=6)

Augrok Manyteeth |

Augrok's concerns currently are narrowed upon the humanoid in front of him, though the lantern-mouths of the hounds are no doubt glimpsed as another roar heralds an oncoming mauling, the first swipe intended for somewhere upon the lower torso of the humanoid.. Crippled vermin cannot run, and are easy prey.

Dungeon Master Drax |

That should have been a Perception (sight, sound) check, same result of course, but have to get used to the wording.
Vykos:
You hear sounds of spellcasting from somewhere in front of you, though it is difficult to make out the spell in the midst of battle (you can roll a Spellcraft check). You notice that several of the wounds on the dual-wielder close up, though the creature appeared to take no action.
Vykos' sickle strikes true, slashing a new wound into its side.
Augrok leaps upon his foe, his first swipe missing but his second ripping a huge gash into the humanoid's chest. As he falls, the bear-man uses his weight to crush the creature into the ground as his teeth sink into the soft flesh of the neck. He lets out a rumbling roar; a flock of ravens lifts into the air nearby, and the remaining humanoids all look back at the terrifying noise.
Pure flavour text. Updated map here. :)

Ergrin Stonefist |

Ergrin Stonefist |

"More are coming from the Northwest!" I assume the top of the map is North.
Ergrin kicks at the creature in front of him.
flurry of blows unarmed (1d20+4=13, 1d6+3=9, 1d20+4=18, 1d6+3=9)

Alexei |

MORE of them?
On Alexei's turn:
Can I move to the road and jump down onto my horse?
I can't actually hit anything anyway, and I don't want that mean guy killing Stavrina the way he's doing Reaper, and I can fight better from horseback. And if this turns into a total route, maybe I can lift Kin Lur onto the back of my saddle when we flee... er, make a "strategic withdrawal."
Sure wish somebody had a color spray spell. Or a fireball.

Dungeon Master Drax |

Ergrin's boot strikes his opponent square in the chest, the cracking of ribs and rush of breath announces the damage dealt.
The burning hounds in the forest move to assault Augrok, with the distraction of two threats they seem to have an easier time dealing with the bear. One manages to bite Augrok in his hind quarters, leaving a burning jaw-mark in the half-orc's hide.
Ergin deals 9 damage with his second attack.
Augrok takes 3 bite damage and 3 fire damage.
Alexei has enough to double move. It's a unique situation, so I'll say DC 20 Acrobatics plus DC 20 Ride to pull it off. Fail any by 5+ and you are prone in a space, otherwise standing in a space if you fail both but by less than 5 each.

Alexei |

That sounds fair to me.
I'm in trouble now: Made the Acrobatics (21), but failed the Ride (13). I fall on the ground, I guess, and take 1 point of damage. At least it's a lot less than the hound would have done!

Vykos the Deathless |

Dungeon Master Drax |

Alexei makes a daring leap from the edge of the embankment, reaching his trusty steed with ease. The distance of his jump leaves him awkward and he slips from his saddle, tumbling over his horse and landing hard on his side in the road.
Alexei is prone in U25 (and takes damage as mentioned by Alexei).
Vykos fails to identify a spell effect.
Next up is Mijanor, then the enemy, then Vykos.

Mijanor Firehammer |

"By me Fathers 'ammer! That's the spirit! I 'eard a rib crack on that last one. Hey gobbo's ye be findin out that a dwarfs hands are as good as a 'ammer for the crackin of 'eads!" He concetrates and pulls on divine energies to encompass Ergrin in a protective field.
Domain power Protection from Evil on Ergrin. He maintains his 5' distance from the enemy.

Dungeon Master Drax |

The third fiery hound turns and bites at Augrok, who is now facing three such foes, each biting a different part of his bear-form. Cackling like a psychotic, the dual-wielder plunges both blades into Reaper's chest. Reaper let's out a pitiful shudder and begins to collapse to his knees. Suddenly, the horse falls over towards Vykos!
Reaper takes 11 points of piercing damage (now at -1 hit points).
Vykos may attempt a Reflex save to avoid crushing damage from Reaper. Vykos is up next as well.
The only change on the map is Alexei is now in U26.

Augrok Manyteeth |

3/{3} [6]
The woods are awash with the sounds of battle and the unnatural light from the mouths of the hounds in the service of the leader of this particularly unique group of brigands. Rising up onto his hind legs, Augrok bellows a challenge at the three of the hounds that surround him, a bark in the roar calling Ur to him, to help even the odds somewhat. Casting about, he makes note of the locations of his allies, as well as determining their general well-being.
DM:

Dungeon Master Drax |

Augrok - you may want to wait to decide your actions, things are going to change very soon. I believe you can use Scent passively. I don't mind telling Augrok that info now.
Augrok:
[spoiler]
Each of the hounds has a strong odour of brimstone, so potent it is difficult to determine how many there are or where they are located.[/spoiler
Also, in my haste, I forgot to mention:
Augrok takes 3 bite damage and 1 fire damage from the previous hound.

Vykos the Deathless |

Oh dear, that's not good!
Reflex Save. (1d20+1=3)
Vykos is too busy concentrating on his Hand of the Acolyte to notice Reaper's fate until too late. The horse gives a whine and then falls towards him, breaking his concentration and salmming into him, sending him flying backwards.
He snarls at the dual-wielding goblinoid and, grabbing his Unholy Symbol, calls upon Urgathoa, sending a wave of Grave Cold Energy bursting from his outstretched hand.
Channel Negative Energy. (1d6=3)Selectively Channel out Augrok, Alexi, Ur, Ergrin and Mijanor. I believe that means it will still hit Reaper (who Vykos assumes is already dead), Fourthea (who I'm assuming is the F) and the unattended Mount near Ergin and Mijanor.

Dungeon Master Drax |

Vykos takes 1 point of crushing damage and is now pinned (see Beta, p.401).
Urgathoa gnaws at the flesh of her servant's enemies, and a few horses. For a moment each of you feels the strong sensation of hunger, but it fades as quickly as it arrived.
Hounds take full damage, dual-wielder takes full damage, the humanoid in P18 made its save (all the others failed).
To save time and space, I have rolled saves for the mounts: Reaper takes full damage, Fourthea and Alexei's horse take 1 damage.
I think the "pinned" condition is a pretty cool tool for DMs. I think it is appropriate here. I am setting the CMB DC at 15 if Vykos wants to later attempt escape as a standard action.

Dungeon Master Drax |

Six new humanoids move from behind the the bend in the road, taking up positions in the road. Each is wielding a longsword and a heavy steel shield - the red (or gray depending on vision) hand on their chests and shields matches those of the first group.
Back around to the top of initiative.
Map is updated.
