San Diego Pathfinder Society Members?

Jumps on bandwagon

At the risk of volunteering myself as an organizer...are there any PFS Members in the San Diego, CA, area? I'm very interested in playing and could commit to 1 (maybe 2) tabletop sessions a month.

Dark Archive

I am in Southwest Riverside County near Temecula. Is that too far you think?

Liberty's Edge Contributor

Well, depending on the exact location, that could be up to an hour and a half away from my house. I'd say that we could look at a "central location" to minimize distances for everyone who might participate. Gas prices may be going down, but it's still California.

BTW, your nick is interesting...in my world, NSTR = "Nothing Significant to Report"...are you prior or current military?

Liberty's Edge Contributor

So there are NO other Pathfinder Society Members in the San Diego area? I find that difficult to believe.

HallOOOooo! Where are you guys?

The Exchange

I think its going to be a slow start for the PFS in Southern California. If your looking for San Diego based players or possible players, I would suggest joining the yahoo group Comic Con RPGA at this address:

http://games.groups.yahoo.com/group/Comic-Con_RPGA/

I know they had a Pathfinder table or two play, with some San Diego locals. Posting there might get you in contact with some good people to game with.

I am planning on doing a game or two once per month at a retail location in Orange County up here (so about 75-80 minutes away from you). I think the start is going to be a little slow, but once people see a consistent game, things will move well. I also plan on running 3-5 slots of PFS at my local convention 3 times a year.

If you want to chat more about coordinating some PFS activities in the future, let me know.

Thanks Jelerak. I was going to post this tomorrow, but since Paris asked, we are adding Pathfinder Society mods to our monthly gameday in San Diego. The gameday is called Warlords @ Game Empire and it is held the 3rd Saturday of every month in San Diego at...Game Empire. :-)

The next gameday will be September 20th, we just had one the same weekend as Gen Con, and we will be offering Pathfinder Society Scenario #1: Silent Tide and Pathfinder Society Scenario #2: The Hydra's Fang Incident.

You can sign up for games on our Warhorn site, which is already set up for September: http://www.warhorn.net/warlords/

You can also join the San Diego Yahoo group for more general information on RPG games in San Diego:

http://games.groups.yahoo.com/group/SDRPGEvents/

In the future, I'll post a monthly reminder about the gameday on these boards, but expect us to offer two games every month.

This is great news! Now I have a real reason to create my Pathfinder character! Thanks for all the info, guys!

I just signed up at the Warhorn site. Looking at the schedule, I think I can make that Saturday work...(I've received tentative permission from my wife ;). I notice that you don't have any judges for the games, yet.

Although I would really like to play, I'm considering running "Silent Tide" and playing in the "The Hydra's Fang Incident."

If anyone reading this has run either or both, I'd appreciate thoughts on which one is more fun to run.

Paris, that's appreciated, but we are running zeroes of both mods. Once the zeroes happen, we should have judges.

If you want to judge and you want to zero it first, contact me off line.

Thanks,
Tom

No problem, Tom. Actually, that makes things better. It occurs to me that I should be a player only for a time, since I've never judged an organized game. Thanks for the info.

Just a quick reminder that we are kicking off the Pathfinder Society next weekend (the 20th) in San Diego. Pre-register to play at http://www.warhorn.net/warlords/

We've had a full table round zero for each mod (or will by tomorrow night) and so far have a full table for the gameday. I've also heard from a number of other people who said they want to play, but can't make it. So, it sounds like we have at least three tables worth of players in San Diego. But the more the merrier, so come play! :-)

Another quick reminder. Our October gameday featuring the Pathfinder Society is this Saturday (the 18th) at Game Empire.

You can pre-register to play at http://www.warhorn.net/warlords/

We're offering PSS-03 Murder on the Silken Caravan and PSS-04 The Frozen Fingers of Midnight respectively in the two slots.

The first table, PSS-03, only has one player right now and could use some help. So, if you're interested in supporting the Pathfinder Society in San Diego, come on down and play! :-)

I highly encourage anyone who can play at these sessions to do so. I went last month and had a blast. Unfortunately, I just had to back out of Saturday's game, and I'd hate for the game to falter for lack of players.

Good luck, Tom. I hope I can join you guys next month!

Tom, you may also want to start posting on the new Event's Calendar over at EN World.

I'm a San Diego Pathfinder, unfortunately the times at Game Empire are bad for me, with my kids, they have Kung Fu in the morning, though I would like to have them (9 year olds) play in PFS games with me.

It's been a while since I did a reminder on these boards, but the Pathfinder Society continues to gain momentum in San Diego. At our February gameday, Saturday the 21st at Game Empire, we'll be offering two more Pahfinder Society adventures.

You can pre-register to play at http://www.warhorn.net/warlords/

We're offering PSS-11 The Third Riddle and PSS-12 Stay of Execution respectively in the two slots.

We already have enough players for two tables of each, but we still have some room, and I'll find another judge if needed. So, if you're interested in playing Pathfinder Society adventures in San Diego, come on down and play! :-)

Any Society Members still around in San Diego? Things seem to have gone quiet since I got back from a 7-month deployment.

Game Empire's schedule hasn't been updated and tfkee's e-mail doesn't seem to be working anymore.

I'm interested in forming a group that fits with my age (36-ish) and is willing to meet once (maybe twice) a month. I'm willing to GM most of the time but would also like to play some, too.

Any interest?

EDIT: Just in case it matters, I'm located in Chula Vista. I can drive most anywhere in San Diego, but it might matter for folks if we ever gather at my place.

Pathfinder is alive and thriving in San Diego. We just completed NFC 2009 on 11/21-22 which offered Pathfinder in each of its 6 slots.

We also have monthly game days at Game Empire on the 3rd Saturday of each month which have both high and low level Pathfinder play opportunties.

Tom Kee has recently moved and is still getting settled. He also has a new email address that I can send you offline. I am sure he will have the monthly game day schedule up soon.

I'd be surprised if you didn't have many people interested. Let's talk about this more off list.

That's great news, Eric. It's good to be back and I'm glad we're in touch again.

There are two yahoo groups catering to Socal players also:

I know that I'm in Orange County and often travel to Riverside for games and will be trying out St Crispins Society in Anaheim this month.

I went. It was great. REALLY good people and a chance to actually play in some high-level mods! Thanks again all!

I've also played - and occasionally GM at St. Crispin's. Good time, fun place. We were pretty consistent with one mod per Game Day but are trying to branch out to two - one high-level and one low-level - per month.

Liberty's Edge Contributor

Thanks, folks! It's good to know that Society play is alive and well in San Diego.

I'm hearing good things about Comic-Con 2010. I just hope I'll be in town to attend some of those events.

The March gameday is up on Warhorn now.

http://www.warhorn.net/warlords/

Two new mods:
PSS-43 The Pallid Plague (Lvl 1-7)
PSS-44 Echoes of the Everwar—Part III: Terror at Whistledown (Lvl 7-11)

And the two recently announced retiring mods in case anyone wants to grab them on the way out.

PSS-10 Blood at Dralkard Manor (Lvl 1-7)
PSS-15 The Asmodeus Mirage (Lvl 1-7)

By the way ConDor was a success this year for PFS. I was hoping for 12 tables total and we had 20. Plus I had a lot of people approached me about starting new PFS characters. I hope to see them at the next gameday.

I'm glad that my daughter and I got to play with some of you guys at ConDor. I just wish I could have stuck around for more of the 'con!

You've got a good bunch of gamers down there: Let me know the next time you can head out to Arizona!

Alas I would, but the ever loyal subjects of Cheliax, New York, need thier Paravicar here and here is where I must stay for now.

But I come home a week in May and three weeks every December so perhaps we'll run a game or two then ?

Drinks and TPKs on me :)
