Yes, kudos to Kirth for the birthday surprise! AND you made Derek loopy!

It would never have worked if you hadn't softened him up with the cherry wheat beforehand!

Oh, and check your email -- there's another present there. But it still has a big blank box on the back!

Shadow Lodge

Is it possible to try and set a specific weekend for me and Cyz to come down each month, or would that be too difficult for the group?

From my standpoint, you're pretty much always welcome. Given some advance notice, I can try and set up a game around your arrival as well.

If it works better for you to set it up in advance... well, it would also be easier on me (as the DM/usual host) to have a set day, so if that works for everyone else, I'd be all for it. The only wonkiness would be if I had to travel out of town.

As a heads-up, Mrs Gersen will probably be changing back to her wacky evening schedule by the end of the month, freeing up weekday nights if those are better for people (I know that Psychicmachinery and Mundane often have weekend conflicts).

Shadow Lodge

Just exploring options. We've got shared Google calendars to avoid scheduling events on the same day, and being able to say 'this is the Sunday we go to Houston every month' would help, but as long as we establish the day a few weeks ahead of time, it should be fine.

As you know, weekdays are pretty much right out for us, even if I didn't have class Monday through Thursday for the next 16 weeks. So we can just try and schedule a Sunday once a month around the gang's conflicts.

Sundays are still the best day for me by far. If they work for you guys (and with Derek's new job schedule), let's call it a deal. Were you thinking along the lines of "first Sunday each month, barring weird holidays, travel, etc." or something? That would be cool with me.

Hopefully if we only play 1/month in this manner, Andostre will keep coming as well -- although it might be better for everyone if he keeps the Cherry Wheat away from Derek and I!

If Psychicmachinery and Mundane can't swing Sundays, I'm totally open to having a separate weeknight game with them.

Liberty's Edge

I don't know specifically what my schedule will look like, but it will primarily be evenings, so I may have to take advantage of a weekday game and make a "special guest appearance" when I have the planned upon Sunday off.

Shadow Lodge

Just let me know and we'll plan for it. I'm expecting two Sunday games a month with mdt in Austin, unless we sit down and find out we can't game together at all. We had a very friendly meeting however, so I think it will be fine.

I'll send out a mass email tonight or over the weekend and try to get a consensus.

Once a month on a Sunday might be doable, but I inevitably won't be able to make every one. There's not one week that's preferable to the others.

Shadow Lodge

I think it better to figure it out as we go then.

So when's the next Kirthfinder game?
You tell me. :P

I'm busy this weekend and the next. But February is wide open except for Saturday, Feb. 25th.

We may want to take this to e-mail since Mundane and psychicmachinery don't check this board very regularly.

Grand Lodge

There's a four day weekend sometime next month. That might be the weekend.

President's Day? 18th through the 20th.

Most people got MLK day off instead. I have President's Day off, but I think I'm in the minority.

Grand Lodge

Sounds like the one. I'll check with my other Sunday game and see if there is a conflict.

Grand Lodge

Okay, back from Kyle. Had a great game, read about it on Facebook.

However, we're looking at gaming on the 5th and 19th, so Kirthfinder will have to be scheduled on a different weekend. Let me know when is good for you guys.

Liberty's Edge

I have no idea what my schedule is going to look like for a while. When I get comfortable and the boss realizes I'm a beast (she's kind of figuring it out already, people are telling her how effing awesome I am), I may have some veto power for Sunday shifts, but, for now, I'm low man on the totem pole.

Grand Lodge

No worries Derek, just saves me some gas money. :)

What's your current schedule like, Derek?

Liberty's Edge

Right now I'm probably going to have to work Sundays for the foreseeable future. It changes every week.

What about Thursday evenings?
I'd be up for a 1/month game on Sundays for TOZ, et al.
And also run a 1/2 weeks game with you, Mundane, PM, et al.?

Anyone? Bueller?

Sorry, was waiting for Derek to reply and then forgot.

Monday through Thursday evenings are equally possible. Not sure how frequently, though.

Liberty's Edge

I don't have a set schedule, the earliest I can plan is the Thursday before right now. But I'm down for whatever on my days off.

Hmmm, I also have an open seat or two for my Pathfinder game. Next session is Sunday the 12th. Anyone interested?

Kirth, weekdays may be better for me, although with the baby coming in early April, I am probably looking at a gaming hiatus for several months at a minimum.

Understood. I'd like to try to get a game in pretty soon -- Jonesing pretty badly! -- would next Thursday (the 16th) be OK for you, Derek, Mundane, anyone else who wants to play?

I'd love to play in your Sunday game, but I'm not sure if my wife's car will be out of the shop yet -- and if not, she'll have my car that day :(

Grand Lodge

Putting in leave for March 11th, and we'll be free that whole week, so whichever day is good for you guys.

Cool! Sunday the 11th is good -- other days that week I'll have to check on.

I could probably pick you up and bring you over. Do you think your wife could pick you up to take you home? We usually go from 1 to 7pm. Also, are you willing to play a skill monkey? They are a bit lacking in that department.

Mrs. Gersen's schedule has changed, unfortunately, so that she doesn't get home until 10:00 pm or so. That will be great for me hosting on weeknights, though!

With luck, I'll have my car back by Sunday, but I don't want to make any promises I can't keep (and I sure don't want to be an inconvenience). Regarding being a skill monkey -- that's my favorite role, although rogues and monks in straight Pathfinder are so bad compared to the other classes that it makes me weep to see it. Still, they're fun! Is a dwarven rogue OK?

I'll keep you posted as to my availability as I learn more.

Cool. I'll shoot you an email later tonight with character generation guidelines on the off chance you can make it.

OK, rogue stats for PM's game:
2d6 + 6 ⇒ (3, 5) + 6 = 14
2d6 + 6 ⇒ (5, 1) + 6 = 12
2d6 + 6 ⇒ (4, 1) + 6 = 11
2d6 + 6 ⇒ (4, 1) + 6 = 11
2d6 + 6 ⇒ (5, 4) + 6 = 15
2d6 + 6 ⇒ (3, 6) + 6 = 15
2d6 + 6 ⇒ (5, 3) + 6 = 14

Str 15
Dex 15
Con 12 +2 = 14
Int = 14
Wis = 11 +2 = 13
Cha = 14 -2 = 12

Anyone up for Kirthfinder on March 11th or 15th?

Grand Lodge

Yes to both.

Well, that's two of us then...

Grand Lodge

Three. :p

Hell, we practically have a quorum!

I was hoping to have trained two more players by now: the kittens have been very active in "helping" me with the houserules, although I'm still unsure about Bonzer's insertion of "3478hnhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhjklp" in the Cleric document -- we may have to vote on that.

Unfortunately, they haven't been as good about actually learning to play, and they have an annoying habit of rolling the dice off the table and still trying to count the results; when I tell them that's not OK, they just steal the dice.

Sorry, will be out of town on the 11th, and will have company on the 15th. May still be able to work the 15th, but won't know until closer. But don't reserve that day for me, if it comes down to it.

Liberty's Edge

Tell me which one so I can request off. I have to have the request in by Friday or Saturday this week though.

Let's shoot for the 11th -- more gaming time on the weekend! Hopefully Psychicmachinery can make it -- there was some question about whether his game was on or off for that week.
@ Andostre -- we'll catch you next time, hopefully. Have a good trip!

Hmmm, I was going to run my game that day, but this might be my last chance to get some playing time in before we become a three person household. Decisions decisions... Kirthfinder on the 11th should work and hopefully leave me with the 25th to wrap up this story arc. I'll talk to the wife and make sure I'm not missing something.

Yeah, I still want to see if I can get my dwarf back to his ship with the swag... and preferrably without all those kids in tow!

Liberty's Edge

Ok, I'll put in the schedule request tonight.

Cool. Are you working seven days a week now, or is it just floating days off depending on how they write the schedule that week?

Liberty's Edge

Floating. No set schedule yet, but I'm working on it.

Figured you would be! Out of the adjectives to describe you, "passive" would not be high on the list.

Liberty's Edge

Yeah, for better or worse, 'tis true. Always been more proactive than reactive...

Do we have a table? What time are we starting? Mrs. Machinery and I are having dinner with some friends at 8 that night, so I'll need to leave by 7:30. With that in mind, I'd prefer to start earlier if we can.

Me, too. My place is open and waiting that day from 14:00 until whenever -- hopefully our guests from Killeen will be down, and you and houstonderek and Mundane if she can make it; Andostre will miss this one.

Grand Lodge

My Saturday game has been canceled due to family commitments, so I will be well rested and ready to go. If I can get out the door by 10-10:30 we'll even be on time!
