Sandros blinks, suddenly aware of something... changing... but he cannot identify it, and after a moment, it is gone. He shakes his head, then turns around at the sound of falling stone.

Fort save (1d20+3=16)

"Cayden's nose, Royl, what in the world was that?"

Female Human mixed blood (Skandik blood link) Cleric 2 (favored class)

Fort save: the dice say no - a natural 1.

Female Human Barbarian 7

Was thinking only the halfings had to make that save but ok I'll bite...
Fort Save: 1d20+5=17

Male Human (mostly) Ex-cleric and Grumpy Cat

Well, let's have a save from Mahaffy too. It's right actually, you should all save.

Petra and Roylenna fall to violent coughing, rendering you a -2 to attacks, damage, reflex saves and Dex checks. Worse, you hear steps rapidly approaching from behind the door that stands ajar.

Roll for initiative.

The door that Ka'kara has been looking through? Actually, for awhile now. See August 14th post.

Yeah, that one. Sorry, got disoriented there.

Ka'kara spots three gnolls lurching towards her, attracted by the light and sounds.

Initiative

Meh. With this build, I don't do attack and damage, anyway. I rolled my initiative without the penalty, so adjust as necessary, please.

Initiative 1d20+3=16

No problem, figured we would get it sorted out once everything settled down.

Initiative (1d20+4=11)

Male Dwarf Rogue 5

Fortitude 11 , Initiative 13

Male Human (mostly) Ex-cleric and Grumpy Cat

The gnolls go on 8, so you all beat their initiative (with the possible exception of Petra).

Right now I'm keeping positions loosely, as long as the salient point is that Ka'kara is at the door and the gnolls on the other side of it. Unless any of you are going to venture into the corridor you are all behind Ka'kara, and we'll take it from there. If things get complicated, I'll find a way to post a battle map.

So... action! You can post in any order, but since Ka'kara's actions are a bit crucial, it might be good for her to post first.

Female Halfling Swashbuckler 6

Well Felicia's actions arent ground braking so....

Felicia's Initial reaction to part of the wall collapsing is to jump back from it whilst blurting out a quick "Wasn't me." Becoming aware of the approaching Gnolls she begins to whistle a catchy tune whilst drawing her blade and putting herself between Roylenna and the gnolls.

Using inspire courage

Female Human Barbarian 7

Ka'kara pulls out her greatsword and stands in the doorway obviously preparing for violence and says over her shoulder with a smirk, "If your done destroying the room and gawking at statues there are some dog people over here." Looking back toward the gnolls, "What do you want?"

Delaying strike to hit them if they become hostile.

Female Halfling Sorcerer (celestial)

*Cough* *Cough* "Wasn't me, either!" *Cough* "I think this place is just falling apart!" *Cough*

She directs her second set of lights to the hallway that the party came in, watching the party's back to make sure there's not a second party of gnolls sneaking up. She will move to a position roughly between the hallway and the open door, 20 - 30' feet from Ka-kara.

Male Human (mostly) Ex-cleric and Grumpy Cat

The gnolls stop in their tracks, looking a bit dismayed to find the path blocked by a fierce warrior. The foremost one barks something that might be anything from a question to a threat.

Does anyone speak gnoll?

I don't think anyone does.

Ka'kara steps to the side, puts the point of the sword down in a less threatening manner, and with a sweep of her arm indicates they may pass, "I think they just want by...."

Male Human (mostly) Ex-cleric and Grumpy Cat

The gnolls eye Ka'kara suspiciously and bark something among themselves. Then, not wanting to set themselves up for such an obvious ambush, they growlingly retreat out of sight.

Shrugging her shoulders Ka'kara steps through the doors, "They are gone."

Male Human (mostly) Ex-cleric and Grumpy Cat

The corridor slants to the left at a 45 degree angle, continuing for about 40 feet before turning 45 degrees right. It's 20 feet wide, and the walls appear to have been painted. Only traces remain now, however. The footsteps of the gnolls seem to be receding.

Female Human mixed blood (Skandik blood link) Cleric 2 (favored class)

Petra lost her action due to *Cough* *Cough*
She now back :-)

What happened?

Female Human Barbarian 7

Ka'kara turns around, "What happened?! Dog people appeared, barked at me, and then ran off. All this happened while my little sisters were.....wait a minute?! By the spirits who are y....." A look of confusion creeps across her face and then clears, "Oh yeah...now I remember.....I think.....Anyway, they ran off that way, so let's go!"

Cant speak it normally but Felicia can cast comprehend languages.

"Hmm next time that happens remind me to cast something that may help with the communication Issue."

"Dog people, or hyena people?" Sandros asks curiously. He looks down the now-empty corridor. "If we follow, we might be setting ourselves up for an ambush, or appearing more threatening than we mean to be."

Sandros Highmount wrote:

Rolling her eyes in exasperation, "Dog? Hyena? What difference does it make?" Putting her free hand on her hip she slouches with her opposite shoulder against the nearest wall, "Ok, so where do you want to go?!"

Female Halfling Swashbuckler 6

"Well lets have a look over here first." Felicia pipes up whilst going to have a look at the area where part of the wall just fell away.

Female Halfling Sorcerer (celestial)

"Oh, good idea!" Roylenna brings one of her sets of Dancing Lights over to illuminate the fallen plaster.

Female Human Barbarian 7

Looking back at the halflings now re-immersed in examining the wall Ka'kara whispers to Sandros, "Now see what you've done?"

Female Human mixed blood (Skandik blood link) Cleric 2 (favored class)

Petra casts light on her Morningstar.
To Ka'kara: I heard that. No worries. I got mending as a spell.
Petra chuckles with a stupid grin on her face.

Male Human (mostly) Ex-cleric and Grumpy Cat

Behind the fallen plaster there is really just wall.

There are three visible exits from this room. Which one do you choose?

Female Human mixed blood (Skandik blood link) Cleric 2 (favored class)

What do you say, should we check the wall for Secret Doors?

Male Dwarf Rogue 5

sorry for the delay but i lost my internet access for some days there (:. And to continue with the sad news , tomorrow is the beginning of my holydays in Sweden so my posts will be few till the end of next week

First thing first , after seeing BIG GURLL protecting the group , Mahaffy spent some time checking the walls to see if the place is susceptible to come down our ears and check for secret doors in the same time :)

ah Welcome to Sweden. The weather here this summer has not been great. Bring an umbrella. At least our currency is kind of weak and the food is good.

Male Human (mostly) Ex-cleric and Grumpy Cat

Mahaffy already checked the walls for secret doors. Apart from some ancient plaster that looks like it too could come loose at any minute, there is nothing interesting about the walls.

Could I maybe interest you in any of the doors? Or possibly going back and trying something else?

Female Human Barbarian 7

Ka'kara taps her foot impatiently....and then after it is determined that there is absolutely nothing of interest in this room she goes over to the door on the right and throws it open, "Ok, not going straight since that where the scary gnolls are.(sarcasm) So let's try this one."

By the way, I think all the searching and examining are good things so don't let Ka'kara get to ya.

Sandros grins. "See, this is why I've stopped worrying about making decisions. Eventually, the boredom gets to someone enough and we wind up having another adventure." The grin fades slightly, as memories of some of those "adventures" drift in, but he shakes his head to set those memories aside. "I don't recall being scared of the gnolls, though," he mutters to Ka'kara as he steps up behind her.

Male Human (mostly) Ex-cleric and Grumpy Cat

Behind the door a passage winds its way for about 40 feet before emerging into a long chamber, 30 feet wide and 70 feet across. In the center of the room there are four massive stone pillars inscribed with Viridian lettering.

Male Dwarf Rogue 5

"I do have a question: about these statues , the last one would be how many years ago ?"

Female Halfling Swashbuckler 6

"OOOhh wonder what that says"

Casting comprehend languages

"Hope it not just someone inscribing Clark was here on the walls"

LOL.

Male Human (mostly) Ex-cleric and Grumpy Cat

The most recent pair of statues depict a pair of monarchs dead about 500 years or so.

The writing on the pillar are basically a list of names and dates. This seems to be some kind of burial ground. Speaking of which... roll for initiative!

Female Halfling Swashbuckler 6

Initaive

1 d 20 + 3=8

Using a hero point to re-roll (Assuming I can use them to do that)

And I was thinking she was bringing up the rear 'cause she was still looking at the statues...

Suddenly the walls come crashing down in several places at once as eight skeletons step out of their hiding places and go at you with ancient scimitars.

They go on 16 so Roylenna is ahead. Since both you and the skeletons are spread out across the room, I think I'll manage this without a battle map. But I'm working on a way of posting maps. Please be patient.

Roylenna, then the skeletons.

Can Roylenna catch multiple bone-men in a 15' cone? She'd like to use a Burning Hands to full effect, preferably before retreating behind someone with a sword and armor. ;-)

Let's say two, and then you can run and hide. :-)
