There is no obvious spellcaster. The goblins are wearing studded leather armor and carrying javelins and a morningstar, except one who has a crossbow. The goblins go at 19, so Proteus and Sandros are up first.

Sandros steps to the front of the group, taking a defensive posture as he waits to see how the goblins rect to Proteus' overture.
There is a moment of silence as the goblins stare at Proteus. Then one of them apparently decides to find it an insult and hurls a javelin at him. The other three follow his cue and hurl theirs at Sandros, who is hit once for 2 points. The fifth goblin (the one with the crossbow) draws his morningstar and moves in for the kill, but Sandros easily blocks his clumsy attempt.

Seeing Ka'kara place herself away from the rest of the party, Proteus quickly decides to fill in some of the gap behind her. He casts Shield of Faith and suddenly a shimmering field appears beside him . He then moves forward .

As Ka'kara pulls back with her greatsword in an effort to split the skull of the enemy in front of her, she nearly hits Proteus, who has to duck quickly to avoid a very unfortunate incident. As Proteus is obviously not experienced in fighting in close melee, he is slightly unnerved. He tries to maintain the offensive and takes a wild, off balanced swing at his own foe, missing horribly.
