My lessons from yesterday...

When having dental work done, if it hurts do not threaten the dentist. It might motivate him to forget pain reduction techniques.

If my comfort food is scrambled eggs with lots of hot sauce, choose a different comfort food in the first 3 hours after oral surgery.

I am not tough enough to go without the pain meds. Attempting such a thing may make my workers think I am having a breakdown.

My boss does not want to see the stitches.

Neither does my SO.

Come to think of it they do not want to see the tooth either.

Adults do not keep these sorts of grisly trophies.
