Finally got this organized and ran her intro session. Not so happy with Kobold hall in retrospect. I think its not a bad adventure for more veteran players learning a new system and I bet it'd work real well for teenage boys but a slightly older young lady probably benefits from seeing a bit more of the non combat portion of the game. This is really just four combats stacked with almost nothing happening in between them.
Session seemed particularly long even though I reduced the adventure to just four encounters. That said she's not a wall flower and was willing to grab the reins and lead even while not really knowing what she was doing so the player really seems to have potential. Her last attack against the Dragon Wyrmling in particular clued me in that she was picking this up fast as it was one of those turns where the player burns through something like 4 powers in a combo using an action point. Since she did that completely uncoached she should be able to get a handle on this game pretty quick.
Now it falls in part to me to keep her interested and in part to the rest of the guys to make sure shes part of the fun in terms of the socializing. An interesting dynamic there since game night, like any boys night out, has a lot of elements of 'guys being immature' for laughs.
