I can do violence to a degree but gore for the sake of gore is a big turn-off. This, of course, applies mainly to movies and such. I would imagine you'd have to go pretty far with text to offend me-- I do enjoy comics like 'the Authority' but movies like Reservoir Dogs, Kill Bill, Saw and so on are just not my cup of tea.
Okay, good to know. Thank you for your input. I will try to avoid gratuity for gratuity's sake, but many gratuitous scenes exist specifically to highlight the depravity of the person(s) responsible for said scene. Nonetheless, I will try not to go "too far."

Brow furrowed, Spyros interjects, "We take out the gunmen she lives for the moment, we'll grab one of these killdozers and hide our plane, find out what we need to know and get on our way. Deal? We can keep our cover story. But we need to hit them once they are outside."
I have no idea what this means... :(
Also, ST Guy Sir, am I correct in assuming that we have basically been walking up the path that they will presumably take to get to the bonfire area we passed before?

Which part?
I'm suggesting we kill the gunmen once the group moves outside. Once they are dead maybe Fred can calm them using our cover story and passing out swag. Maybe not. Either way we would be free to steal one of their sweet Thunderdome rides then and use it to taxi the Duskwing into a hangar. Also the woman who is about to be burned would live for now. We don't really have any flashy psi-powers except for Urso so that part was for him. Bone sword arms, or bone plating might make them scream "Demon!"
It might be a crap plan causing panic and chaos, but I was just pointing you guys back to the issue before an argument could break out.
If we want to do it though we need to get into positions with cover where we can take shots. We can all spread out if need be since we have the communicators. Spyros has terrible range with a pistol and a very short range taser. Hopefully you guys are better shots.

Yes, you are basically at the northern exit of the hangar at the far west end of the airfield. The "burning spot" is close to the far EAST end. You've got a few hundred meters of scattered cover and ambush positions to choose from. Hell, you could even use the motorcade as cover and shoot from there. It's only about 20m from the "front door."

I'll be out or town from tomorrow (Aug 13th) till late on Monday (Aug 18th).
EDIT: I won't check in using the phone this time. In the US that cost me nothing (was part of my monthly plan). Here... it turned out to be more expensive than an international phone call. wtf?
Duly noted. I expect that the bulk of the time will be spent in dialog, but if it comes down to combat... um... I'll deal. :)
Man... there really has to be a convenient way to draw up a map and upload it to something for people to see.

Briefly scanning the area, Urso locates the closest area of decent cover and subtly indicates it to Frederick. "When the shooting starts, we run for that. I hope Therese will have the self-control necessary for this to work."
Man, with what's in my spoilers, the fact that Therese hasn't started blasting everyone in sight is evidence for the extreme depth of her self-control! ;)

So, I've drawn up a map in Paint, but all the picture hosting sites are either blocked or have account setup requirements that would prohibit me from using them at work. Does anyone have some webspace or would someone be able to set up a Flickr or ImageShack account to host these on if I e-mailed the map to them? Just leave me your e-mail here and I'll send you the map as an attachment.

You can't log in to /any/ site that requires a user name and password from work Fates?
No, I just can't log into Flickr because it requires going through a Yahoo site to login... which is blocked. Photobucket won't work (according to Karelzarath) and ImageShack is blocked from work. If there are other options, I'm willing to look into them.

I'm sure enworld is blocked for you too then. Otherwise it would be another option where you could just start a thread somewhere useless and upload images into it, then link to here.
I'll see about a flickr account. I have one which I don't use much, but I'd rather keep it to photos and set up a separate one for maps- unless someone else is on top of this or has a better solution. I'll look into it tomorrow.

I saw more sun-tanned scrot's and hoo-haws on the beaches of Paros than ever in my life. I'm very used to women running around topless on the beaches by now and I've seen people going full naked all summer at various beaches, but usually they have a more private little area where they have a little nudist party. In Paros they were all just mixed in. It was amusing. :)

Everyone, be sure to track your ammunition and health levels. Mark bashing damage with a '/' and lethal with an 'X'. Thanks!
nurmich, since your gun has 3 settings, I'd appreciate it if you told me which setting you were using when you declared shots. For the last shot I assumed the lowest setting to conserve ammo, so you're only down 2 rounds out of your second magazine.

I'll get back into the swing of a non-d20 game here at some point, I promise. Duly noted, Fates, and thanks for your patience. :)
I updated my sheet with a health meter and modified it to reflect my woundedness. I also added the clip/ammo details to the equipment part of my sheet right by the gun details.

I'm enjoying seeing how the characters react to varying levels of threat. This is some quality stuff here folks.
Also, I will be tremendously amused if you manage to get back to the Duskwing and are able to bring it's laser cannon to bear on your target. Of course, given Therese's results with the laser pistol... it may not be as effective as you hope...
*whistles innocently*

Rough estimation, how long (in rounds) are we looking at getting to the carpark, grabbing a vehicle, and heading back this way? Assuming a car will start, we don't have to fight off fleeing civvies, etc?
I have a post planned but I wanted to make sure we're not talking about abandoning Urso and T for 10 minutes while I pick up some zoom and then come back to grab them.

Well, bearing in mind that a round is 3 seconds, you're looking at about a 2 minute round trip (so 40 rounds). We're in "cinematic" time right now, though, so I'm not actually running things in "rounds" per se.

I hate having the character run like a little girl and leaving the others behind but it's the only thing I could really see him doing. Took so long to post because I was just trying to think of another angle. I will say that I'm sorry in advance if someone ends up biting the dust because Fred split. :\

I apologize for my infrequent posting the last couple of weeks. My workload has been a bit higher than normal lately, but it's looking like it will slowly wind down as we enter October. Please bear with me!
I'm cool with it! Just so long as we keep going. :D
I'm back in school now, too, and still working full time. But I'll do my best not to post any less often as I do seem to be the weakest link as it stands.
