I found this novel in the 'new acquisitions' section on my local library's website, and had not heard of it anywhere before.
I'm halfway through reading this, and would recommend it to anyone who enjoys China Mieville's books.
It's rocking good Steampunk fantasy in an alternate universe corner of London gone horribly wrong.
Even though it's way more steampunk than Eberron, there are elements I may just steal and adapt for my Eberron game, or come to think of it, I could certainly see myself running a game in this universe.
Has anyone else read this?
No, I haven't. But I'm interested in checking it out.
I just finished this book today.
On the positive side I would have to say that it was entertaining, fast-paced, and short.
If it were any longer I think that I would have grown to dislike the characters; there was just not much depth to any of them.
Some of the ideas presented were excellent, and hopefully the author's next book will be all the better for his experience.
