Yin carries a quarterstaff, so it's reasonable to assume it was in hand when they charged us.
The fireweaver looks the charging orc in the eye, bracing herself for the blow, before flitting to the side like the flame she favors and taking a shot at him with her staff. To no avail. Sorry, Yin, wherever ye be!
Quarterstaff attack 1d20+2=4, damage 1d6=3
Since we don't have initiative for her yet:Initiative 1d20+1=12
Round 1, Init 12:
She steps back from the orc and over to the dwarven king, seeing him shake from the impact of the magic missiles as she approaches. "Two can play at that game..." She says sweetly, "I believe this orc would like to speak to you, sir," before calling upon her arcane training to cast a spell Magic Missile in return at Sarpis. Force Damage 2d4+2=7 She effectively has that spell three times - twice as special abilities and once memorized. Scratch one special ability use off.
I 'ope 'at's fine wit' every'un - Ah'm fer missin' 'er.

Tarren the Dungeon Master |

Thanks to Manfred's warning, the heroes have avoided being taken by surprise by the bullrushing orcs. Within a few seconds of their initial charge, only one remains standing. He turns, flush from the victory of having thrown Quarrel over the side and roars to his colleagues only to find they are no longer there.
The orc looks bewildered, then scared, and then says something that sounds a lot like, "Urrrrppp."
Orc speakers or Linguistics check DC 15
"Urrrrppp" is orcish for "urrrrppp."

Klyndak |

Tarren the Dungeon Master |

Seeing that the orcs up above are mostly dealt with, I focus my attention on Sarpis, summoning a ball of fire under his feet.
"Burn ye villanous cur!" I shout
Sarpis glares at Klyndak and, with an angry gesture and a mumbled phrase, his face takes on a frightening aspect.
DC 16 Will save or be frightened for 7 rounds. Make the save and be shaken for 1 round.
Although common sense would tell him to run for his life, the last orc at the top with the heroes brings his axe down hard on a distracted King Klyndak. 13 points of damage.
Kerrigan's guards, realizing that thanks to you the orcs can now be shaken from their secure little nest, begin to rain arrows down on Sarpis and the orcs on the cliff.

Ovirid Thorvirson |

"Now Ah'm sure yer a half-wit, orc. Ye should be runnin' fer yer life." Ovirid moves to flank the idiot orc between him and King Klyndak, but...
Why doesn't it seem like anyone else rolls natural 1's when they attack? Confirmation roll for my clumsy attack:
OMG!!! Are you kidding me?!

Sir Manfred VonFalkenburg |

Sir Manfred Round 2
"Milord Klyndak, Quarrel has fallen!" Sir Manfred shouts, having seen him being knocked off the massif. Then on seeing Klyndak being hacked; "Milord!"
Sir Manfred then moves to attack the orc. "Receive the blessing of Iomedae!" he shouts as he strikes.
Sword attack, Damage: (1d20+9=14, 1d8+4=7)
Then again...

Sword attack, Damage: (1d20+9=14, 1d8+4=7)Then again...
Sir Manfred manages to cut the orc down before he can do any more harm to Klyndak. Looking over the cliffside, you see Quarrel foolishly start to attempt to stand while surrounded by five orcs and a pissed off mage.

Tarren the Dungeon Master |

Will Save: (1d20+6=25)
Nice!
The rest of the heroes can act now. There is no obvious threat at your level.

Sir Manfred VonFalkenburg |

Sir Manfred Round 3
Sir Manfred, having chopped down the last orc threatening king Klyndak, rushes over to the cliff edge to see what became of Quarrels fall. Seeing him surrounded and struggling, he wishes he had a way down quickly without possibly dieing in a fall; then in a sudden burst of inspiration, he remembered the gift of a ring.
Even as he backed up and took a short run, he wondered at the seeming coincidence at receiving the ring just before it was needed; then he jumped off the cliff.
Aiming to land next to Quarrel.
Jump check, Untrained Class skill: (1d20+3-1=14)

Ovirid Thorvirson |

Ovirid Round 3
Ovirid finds a place to lay prone on the cliff's edge, one crossbow in hand, the other beside him, and takes aim on the mage below.
As he's doing this, he see the crazy human knight leap from the cliff, "What're ye, daft? Ye're gonna... th' rings! Ah've in no shape t' be flyin' int' a crowd o' orcs just now. Gorumgrag, would ye be fer 'ealin' me up a bit? 'r would ye rather 'ave the ring t' join Sir Manfred?"
IC is unavailable to me at the moment and I have no dice. Using spreadsheet random generator if that's cool. 1d20+6 to hit, 1d10 damage. Aiming at Sarpis, he hits AC 12 for 8 points of damage.
EDITED when I remembered I could "roll" with the spreadsheet.

Hru Gorumgrag |

Hru moves to Klyndak's side and laying a hand on him pronounces "Iron Lord he must return to the fight"
Spontanoeus cast: Cure Moderate Wounds for Shatter
He eyes the cliff edge warily as he's heard to mutter "If only I could get my steel to that lout!"
"We must get down there or Quarrel's life will be forfeit!" He then exclaims loudly

Hru Gorumgrag |

I have been dying to get down there and get a crack at Sarpis!! I remember a couple of FF rings we found at some point, and have been slowly, if chaotically combing the bazillion pages to see where they ended up and if Hru knew such knowledge. I know they're not on my sheet, but it's moot, tho Hru fears heights, battle and saving Quarrel would override that so spell away!
Hru replies solemnly gazing at the huge drop "Make it so if you can, good King!" he then takes a deep breath as if prparing to swim under water.

Tarren the Dungeon Master |

Why doesn't it seem like anyone else rolls natural 1's when they attack? Confirmation roll for my clumsy attack:

I never responded to this ...
As the orc steps aside, Ovirid's blade comes dangerously close to hitting Klyndak. He manages to halt the blade's momentum within a fingerwidth of the king's brow.

Tarren the Dungeon Master |

I think our rounds got a bit mixed up. I was actually waiting for Kelborn and Yin to post but we'll move on. Fog of war and all that.
ROUND 4
Klyndak (18) -- casts Featherfall
Sarpis (13) -- spells
Orcs (12) -- changing weapons
Yin (12)
Hru (9) -- Descending
Ovirid (5)
Kelborn (8)
Manfred (6) -- Descending
Quarrel
Sarpis reaches out towards Quarrel as he attempts to stand, his hand cackling with blue energy but the surprised shout of one of the orcs at seeing Hru and Manfred descending towards them interupts his attack. Quarrel lives a bit longer.
Manfred can hear Kerrigan shout to his men to hold their fire as he descends but a flight of arrows peppers the cliff anyhow. One arrow is deflected off his armor. Another narrowly misses Hru.
The orcs drop their crossbows and draw their axes seeing that the game has changed and melee combat is now in order.

Kelborn |

Kelborn, seeing that Sarpis is a magic-user, decides that he is the priority target, and begins firing arrows at him. While he is doing so, he looks around for a safe place to make his descent, and, if he finds one, begins descending into the fray.
Two Attacks & Damage: 1d20+8=21, 1d6+3=7, 1d20+8=28, 1d6+3=4
Crit Confirmation + Extra Damage: 1d20+8=17, 1d6+3=4
Note that all of Kelborn's attacks suffer a -4 penalty if Sarpis is in melee with any other creature. He still doesn't have Precise Shot.
I posted two rounds of actions for last round that I missed and this round. If it's too late to post last round's actions, I suppose only the first attack & damage will count.
Sorry about that. :P

Ovirid Thorvirson |

Round 4
Yin wrinkles her nose at the missed shot and casts another Magic Missile at Sarpis. Nodding with some satisfaction at the successful hits, she starts to reload the heavy crossbow.
IC must not be accessible from this site, so rolling locally again for 7 points of force damage
Ovirid shakes his head at the foolishness of his allies, jumping down there without a dwarf to protect them. lol He drops the crossbow, pulls a potion from his pouch, and stands, pushing himself back from the edge of the cliff as he does so.
CLW potion for 7 points of healing

Keliwyn's well aimed bolts bounce harmlessly off the air around Sarpis.
Yintarah's magic missile is absorbed by a swirling mass of green light that appears between Sarpis and her before disappearing in a flash.

Klyndak |

Flaming Sphere Damage: (2d6=6)
I make sure to keep the flaming sphere on Sarpis this round and then with a word and a gesture, I send three bolts of arcane force towards the other magic user, hoping his protection may be gone.

Kelborn |

Keliwyn's well aimed bolts bounce harmlessly off the air around Sarpis.
Wow, Keliwyn is such a good archer he can shoot into entirely different PbP's... :D
Spellcraft check to see if Kelborn suspects protection from arrows in place, as I do.
Realizing that his arrows are not being entirely effective, Kelborn starts looking around for a path he might be able to use to avoid climbing.

Tarren the Dungeon Master |

Klyndak's magic missiles are absorbed by Sarpis' arcane protection. Although the blasts distracted Quarrel, Sarpis was not able to slip away from him. Being grappled by a bugbear is taking all of Sarpis' attention right now.
The orcs on the ledge wait for Manfred and Hru to land before attacking.

Ovirid Thorvirson |

Round 5 for Yin:
"Honestly, I'm not sure how anyone uses these contraptions. Really! I don't want to hit Quarrel, so I choose... you!" With that, she finishes loading the heavy crossbow and squeezes off another shot at one of the waiting orcs, but to no avail. Heavy Crossbow attack 1d20+3=7, damage 1d10=9

Sir Manfred VonFalkenburg |

Sir Manfred Round 5
Sir Manfred was grateful he didn't simply crash to the earth as he had several times before; but he was concerned that he fell so slowly the enemy had time to switch weapons. As he gently landed he slashed at the nearest enemy [preference given to spellcasters]. He looked to where Quarrel was grappling and prepared to charge towards him...

Hmmm. They say 'spellcraft' can help you identify a spell as it is being cast. I imagine identifying it from its effect would probably be similar for some spells.
Kelborn (not Keliwyn) recognizes Sarpis has used more than one type of arcane defense to protect him from both arrows and magical attacks.
He sees no path down.

Were Sarpis not being grappled by Quarrel, Manfred's attack might have missed. Manfred feels his blade being pushed aside by an unseen force but thrusts it with more strength and punctures the invisible barrier and hits Sarpis.
As the blade strikes deep, Sarpis' mouth begins to move and he mutters strange and incoherent sounds. For a moment Manfred thinks the spellcaster will use trickery to escape again but then Sarpis says only "too deep" and slumps in Quarrel's arms.

Tarren the Dungeon Master |

The cliff is only wide enough for one of the orcs to attack Hru or Manfred at a time. I'll assume you landed on either side of Quarrel and Sarpis and are protected from being flanked. Likewise you cannot flank.
The bloody orcs do not seem to hit the heroes that fell very, very slowly into their midst.

Hru Gorumgrag |

As Hru lands softly and senses solid ground beneath his feet he exhales a "Praise Gorum!" and then brings the mighty blade to bear on the closest orc.
"Un gula dar Karkun iss ggrrluucg Gorumgrag? Gorluuuc grag fulch!
for those that speak orc:

Tarren the Dungeon Master |

Yin's bolt goes wide.
Quarrel is trapped between the two heroes and unable to attack.
Kerrigan's soldiers have bows aimed at the cliff but are holding their fire for now as they would likely hit Manfred and Hru.
One of the orcs responds to Hru, "Gorumg-sshirr grag urrshee!"
Orcish:
"Greet Gorum yourself!"
ROUND 6
Klyndak (18)
Sarpis (13)
Orcs (12)
Yin (12)
Hru (9)
Ovirid (5)
Kelborn (8)
Manfred (6)
Quarrel

Hru Gorumgrag |

"orgulc uuur grllcc Gorum-UN UJ UMMSH!!"
Orc:
Spits Hru gutterally as he he brings the greatsword down on the orc's helm.
I know I'm out of turn, but I wanted to make sure and get it while the gettin was good
Attack: (when applicable)1d20+9=27, 2d6+10=14

Sir Manfred VonFalkenburg |

Sir Manfred Round 6
Sir Manfred, balancing on the ledge, makes a powerful but wobbly slash followed suddenly by planting his shield right in the orc's face.
"Iomedae blesses you with a kiss of my shield!"

Kelborn |

Not able to hit Sarpis, or even climb down without most likely breaking his neck, Kelborn does what he can: he nocks an arrow and fires at the orcs down below who are nearest his companions.
I can't access IC right now... Could someone roll for me? It's 1d20+9 to attack and 1d6+3 for damage. Thanks!

Klyndak |

Tarren the Dungeon Master |

Quarrel tosses Sarpis' body down on the cliff. The boulders prevent it from flopping over the cliff and breaking anything of value that Sarpis might carry.
With the help of Kelborn and Klyndak's flaming sphere, the orcs engaged in melee with Hru and Manfred. That leaves two orcs left. With no one left to call them cowards, they leap from the cliff and begin to slowly descend. As soon as they are clear of the cliff Kerrigan's guards release their flight of arrows. The instant the orcs die, their slow descent becomes a freefall. They collapse at the base of the cliff.
