Jaden finds a good strong spot to put our new friend, and make sure he will not get eaten, and leave him tied up for the night, as we make camp in the temple to the dwarf god. It has the best door for to bar.

Again i ask the dm, Jaden wants to use the worgs head for a new helmet. What would you want for a roll, and could any of the party help in the crafting. I know that Keegan also would make good use of the very dark skined hide.
Also, what would be the total of the loot we have go in our little trip

"If we are going to camp in the room with the anvil, can we knock it dead first?" With plans to smash it if it does, Hozs will attempt to put the gem in the anvil. In his simple logic, if the gem will animate the anvil, he can destroy the gem to destroy the anvil. Ok I will bite.

As Hozs places the gem into the depression in the anvil a wash of energy flows through the room, raising the parties spirits and alleviating their aches. Everyone is healed of 7 damage. Any repeated attempts to use the gem doesn't produce any effects. The anvil doesn't move.

Fakey, aside from the items which party members have grabbed (and should be on our sheets already). We haven't taken much in cash. I'd say don't bother hunting through the thread for the exact treasures. This payday is plenty. More comments and a question on the discussion thread.

When Jaden announces the plan to stay the night in the temple room, Effan agrees and hurries out to retreive Catharine. On his return, Effan splutters incoherently in alarm as Hozs slips the gem into the anvil. Then he relaxes as the healing aura washes over him. He grins a little sheepishly at the others, then scowls and opens his pack.
He breaks out the last of his rations. "Anyone care for a bite?"

Over dinner Effan stands to speak. "We've played pretty fast and loose with what we've found so far. I just kind of appropiated this wand, and others have taken what they can use. But now, we've a nice pile of money, and money brings trouble. It would be best to decide what we're going to do with it now, before anyone gets too attached to it."

male Human Druid 2

Hozs will take a closer look at the wand and potion. "Maybe they too have nature secrets eh Miss Squeek?" Hozs has a good job and a lot of support from home, so money is not an issue for him. Not to mention he has no concept of economics. "Uhmmm... maybe Laural can use some to help the sick people though. Or I can get those new shoes for the Mr. Ferry Pony."

the wand is the sonic war-wand I picked up at the gingerbread house.

"That's a fine idea, Hozs. I think giving a portion to Laurel would be a fine idea and second it. I'm sure there'll be some left over for horse shoes too."

Male Gnome Bard 2

Handing over the ruby to the big man, Faldor stands behind him with his rapier at the ready. A sigh of relief comes along with the cleansing feeling that washed out from the anvil. "I guess it was older then the dwarves 'torment' that they started."

Again Faldor picks up the gem, "Since I am unable to carry the money would it be okay if I kept this gem?" As he holds it up in his fingers he remembers the crossbow, "Oh and I did take this crossbow as well so I understand if not."

After everything is calm he walks out side and retrieves his fox and begins talking to her about the day the journey they've made and how best to make it into verse.

So far all Faldor has aquired is the Ruby and the Masterwork Crossbow. Faldor will help with any magical item identification if he can.

Still have a bit you could explore if you want, and an hour until sundown....
Updated map. The stairs in the wolf's room is blocked with a bunch of debris and unpassable without a ton of excavation.

Fakey, was there any sign of how Gurtlekep got into the wolf's room? He would have had to run all the way around the outside of the building, unless we took a long time going from his bedroom to the wolf's we should have spotted him entering the wolf's room from the hall.

Well guys, treasure discussion or more exploring? I think we're healed up pretty good. Since Effan has brought up the treasure split, I don't think he can suggest more exploring right away. Maybe one of the tactically minded could suggest we secure the perimeter before anything else.

The doorway isn't visible from down the hall and you guys spent at least a couple rounds searching the room and gathering up Gurtlekeps leavings and stuff. The tools and all were spread across the one bed (which got tossed). He had time to run through the courtyard and maybe head down the long east-west corridor and into the Worg's lair without you ever having a chance to spot him. You can assume your PC thinks this as there is no other way in unless he flew from above and dropped in through one of the ceiling holes.....

Jaden takes frist watch, keeping his eyes on the lizard, and keeping his sleeping spot near the temple alter, so he can see anything comeing in the door.

Jaden works the action on his crossbow, oiling the actions and keeping the strings tight and keeping them from breaking. He watches the door and the sleeping comrades for anything that might be arise.

Jaden had talked with the group at moveing double time back to the town, to get the cure back before it has been to long.

You still have an hour before dark if you wish to continue exploring before settling in for the evening.

I think everyone is ready to turn in. The excitment that the group has had is more then most of us or used to or even bargained for on this journey. So I think we all hunker down and rest so we can leave at first light or before.

Edit: I stand corrected

Hosz spends some time working his nature secrets but wants to stretch his legs before settling in for the night. The room next door, having no door, gets a peek.
1700 students arriving this week and we are almost halfway done. My time at the keyboard will be limited for the next few days.

Old cobweb-covered racks and armor stands dominate much of this small chamber. It looks to have been a well-stocked armory but a quick glance turns up no arms or armor. Hozs spots a distinctive looking crack running down the eastern wall toward the northeast corner of the room that he thinks might be a secret door or old walled-up opening that may lead to another room...

Nothing moves in the room.

compared to the length of the hallway, is there space for another room?

"Very interesting, Hozs. If it is a door, perhaps there's a trigger here somewhere to open it."

1d20+1 12+1 = 13 . Perception roll to find door latch. Invis castle was down, so I used d20 dicebag on SRD.

Looks like there is.

As you get closer you can see a fairly clear outline of a door, but you can't seem to locate a trigger to open it. Crossing the floor you notice a lot of debris is concealed beneath the dust, effecting your footing slightly....

What kind of debris? If the door opened toward us would it sweep it away? That is, must the door push open?

Seems to be just light debris, a few rotted pieces of wood, some dusty crossbow bolts, some tarnished bronze studs that were probably part of an old suit of studded leather that rotted away, an old copper belt buckle, the rusted metal fittings to some sort of scabbard. That type of debris, nothing to really interfere with a door opening up, but enough to make the footing a bit wobbly if care wasn't being taken.

"Careful Effan." Hozs uses Miss Stick as a cane to help his balance keep as he looks around. 1d20+5 8+5 = 13 perception.

You notice that the crossbow bolt nearest to you looks new ever though it is coated with an age of dust, you seem to have some trouble finding more bolts though.....

Effan picks up a piece of wood and tries to lever open the "alleged" door.

"Uhmm... OK." hozs grabs the bolt and attempts to with the door.

Keegan amuses himself for a while by finding deathwatch beetles in the rubble and stuffing them into the captured kobold's nostrils. Once he becomes bored with that, he starts mumbling numbers to himself.

"1. 1. 2. 3. 5. 8. 13. 21. ..."

As he does this, he searches in his pack for a piece of flint. Wolf hearts taste better cooked.

Would making a fire be at all detrimental?

Not really, there are plenty of ventilation holes in the ceiling to allow smoke to exit.
The Kobold keeps snorting out large wads of snot-encased beetles, trying to avoid allowing the vile creatures to penetrate his nasal cavity, or alternately sucking them up and munching them before spitting them out.
The Secret door is stuck tight. Someone with skill at searching for levers is gonna be needed unless you have some hammers, picks and crowbars.
The crossbow bolt seems to be of exceptional quality and untouched by the ravages of centuries lying on the floor.

After prying at the door for some time, Effan drops the wood. "Hozs, I don't think we're going to be able to open this alone. Let's head back to the others."

M Human Scout 2

Keegan piles a few old rags together, along with bits of broken shelf, and uses his flint and dagger to ignite the mess. In short order, he has a bright, warm fire.

Pulling the bloody wolf heart from his pack, he splits it down the center. One half, he spits on a stick and begins roasting. He slices the other half into strips and lays them on a flat rock near the fire. Next, he removes the troll nose from its pouch, and with near reverence, spits that on a stick as well. he sits back to watch his meal cook.

The bolt radiates magic, stronger than any you've encountered thus far, of the evocation variety. On examination you notice the shaft is carved in a pattern of flames. Another four emanations alert you to the presence of 4 more bolts in the old armory.

Male Human Fighter 2

Jaden wanting nothing more then to get going, is quick to tie the lizard up, and looks around for a good spot to watch Keegan cook his supper.

"Faldor, you seem to be lesstalkaive then normal, you ok?"

Male Gnome Bard 2

I'd talk more if the thread would stop eating my post -_-.

Stretching his neck and working a sore muscle that has developed somewhere along the line. "I've just been thinking about the sick people back in the village. They have all been to my show at some point and I was just getting to like the town for all it's problems. It has been an adventure just telling stories but now that I've had this adventure I don't know if I can continue just telling stories..." After a long pause Faldor looks around, "But not even really sure I'm actually cut out for these kind of adventures either. I'm not exactly the strongest specimen and don't know how much I can continue acting like it." Faldor rubs the ears of his fox as he frowns and contimplates.

Following the emanations you track down all the magical bolts. Two have an icy appearance, another one looks like the first one with the pattern of flames and the last one has stylized lightning running down the shaft.

Do you guys have a way to ID these? If not give me a knowledge:arcana or spellcraft. You can aid each other if you have ranks.

Effan misunderstands the druid. "Jaden or Raph might be able to get it open. Let's head back." The gnome leads the way back to the anvil-altar room, waving his staff with a light spell on the end in celebration.

Back in the anvil-altar room, Effan exclaims, "Faldor! Check this out!" He places the first bolt in front of the bard. "Hozs and I found four more! They're enchanted, pretty strongly. I could make some guesses how based on the carvings, but thought maybe you would have some ideas."

You get the impression that these are magical bolts enchanted to do extra damage of their respective elemental type. (+1 flaming, +1 cold, and +1 acid)

I didn't really feel like trying to remember what the items were in 6 weeks when someone asks so I went the easy way.

He watches Faldor place the bolts with the other loot. "does anyone want to talk about what we're going to do with all this? Hozs and I both believe some of the coin could be used by Laurel to benefit the town."
